The friendly staff will help advise you with anything you need, and although I'm not sure how long it has been there, I get the impression this has been a local institution for some time.

Stock changes regularly and as the staff are happy to tell you, each piece of wood has it's own character and history. Last time I visited, there was a small selection of old decking from the Palace Pier complete with old nails and footprints. If you don't fancy making your own furniture, the Wood Store also sells distinctive coffee tables, benches, dining tables, bookshelves and garden planters made. Everything is made on the premises by staff and looks suitably hand-made. They're also happy to create bespoke picture frames, boxes and individual pieces for customers if there's a particular timber you like.

As I don't need any of this stuff myself it didn't exactly get me excited, however i was surprised to find that I was quite interested by some Items; the customised toilet seats. They had a toilet seat with a simple and tasteful summer holiday scene, of beach houses and sea gulls and another which caught my eye, which was transparent and had shells embedded within it. Lots of tasteful and expensive things for your bathroom here too, such as a sleek, chrome, Scandinavian designed toilet cleaner holder.
