there are systemic issues that make it difficult for students to receive a high-quality education…read more Only 30% of students are even reading at grade level, and most kids struggle to read aloud at all. grade policies have shifted so that Ds are considered passing instead of Cs. This discourages motivated students from challenging themselves, while others advance without improvement. The Spanish program specializes doesn't allow students to progress half as much as they should, as even-year classes are only meant to review the previous year. The administration often seems to make decisions without prioritizing student well-being. Medical needs are frequently ignored or contested, and discipline policies are counterproductive. for instance, students can be sent to auditorium detention for being even slightly late to first period, which causes them to miss the entire class. Staff sometimes go back on their word, whether about serious issues or small questions. Some policies are also mismanaged or wasteful. The school spent over $250,000 on Yondr pouches to limit phone use, even though most students bypass them by breaking them, and teachers often allow phones in secret To address vaping in bathrooms, they locked four out of five bathrooms, forcing kids to walk across the entire school and miss extra class when they need to go. Also never stocked w feminine products. At mealtimes, breakfast or pizza runs out before all students are served. Breakfast is usually packaged treats. And kids are forced to take foods they won't eat of which some can be tossed into a bin at the end of the line, but making an effort to reuse solid foods (like apples) is kinda gross because now they've just touched people's hands for no reason. Assemblies can be inappropriate, many times girls are straight up twerking onstage. Student council members even twerked at the freshman mixer to "excite kids somehow" some teachers have made sexual comments that are unprofessional and uncomfortable for a school environment, especially given the age of the students. (Not about students, but regarding content from in class) Now many teachers were genuinely good and caring and the social environment can be fun, but the combination of low academic standards, inconsistent administration, and poorly managed policies significantly detracted from the overall experience. There was lots of cyberbullying. Also kids have been caught having sex in the school w/o much punishment and people have snuck in knives

It's like a big family - a great community to be a part of. Coming to Peoria from the UK, we wanted a secular option for our children that embraces all religions, and the cultural diversity - much like an International School - was what first attracted us to PA. The curriculum is varied, challenging, and hands-on. Really engaging for the children, not just geared towards passing tests. I believe the kids really benefit from the experimental learning and all the extras PA has to offer above and beyond the public schools - such as the Outdoor Education Center, (a working garden / outdoor classroom), huge indoor gym, and all the diverse extra curricular activities. My kids have enjoyed trying out (among other things) Tae Kwon Do, Robotics club, lego club, Ballet, Yoga, Gymnastics, STEAM art, Scholastic Bowl, Fencing, Cub Scouts, piano, guitar, ukulele, cheerleading, mathletics, Speech, debate, cookery, and pottery (the school even has its own kiln!) Multicultural Night is a highlight of the year, along with Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, Family Picnic /Movie Night, and the Annual Gala. PA is a special place. I highly recommend coming for a tour.

Spanish from 1st grade on, comprehensive art program, sports, track and theatre/music program. Anyone that would like can participate in the fall musical. After school activities that include instrument lessons, fencing, dance and golf. We could not be more please with the IB program. The families are very welcoming and eager to get involved how ever you would like. GO BULLDOGS

Let's bring the real show to the playgrounds okay? Because I'm about to tell you some good things,…read morebad things and emotional things about this school. First off I will for the most part the community outside this school is how I met half the neighborhood around me where I live and know alot of friends who I used to go to school with. Secondary thing I'd like to mention that I have struggled to get a highschool degree certificate from these guys so hard I ended up leaving because I couldn't focus on my school work plus I had separate family issues that needed to be attending to. Third point I'd like to make very clear there's always that one kid who is left out hanging underneath the bleachers well guess what? That was me! The loser loner kid who was the guy who was older than the rest of the class and the other students didn't seem to like me because of my obsession over having a GF I used to date until I ended up breaking up with her over people telling rumors about me. I guess what im trying to say is this school is the least place that you don't want to go to and the worst place that can really not do their job. Kids getting arrested, teachers did wtf they wanted to and the principal didn't care about it. For the most part I hope this teaches children and adults a valuable lesson on this review. Don't lose your chance to change your life and focus on what matters most I lost my mine so don't lose yours. This is not good place to be. I hope this helps and haunts them for things they did to me and everyone else.
