Dr. Brink misdiagnosed me and it ruined my life. Women are often misdiagnosed because most psychiatrists do not take the time to fully go through the maze you have to run through to make a proper diagnosis. Women statistically are misdiagnosed, they are often dismissed or not fully listened to because the doctor assumes we are over exaggerating, or they don't ask enough questions to reach a proper diagnosis. The Dr. might as well have diagnosed me with hysteria like they did in the 1800's, because that's how little his diagnosis helped. I wish that this wouldn't happen to anyone else but statistically it will. And I don't know if the doctors contemplate the consequences of their diagnostic choices, but maybe if they read this they will take a little extra time to make sure that they are helping rather than hurting their patients lives! Good luck on your search, I hope you find a Psychiatrist that is both qualified and has an ounce of empathy, because I'm beginning to think they don't exists. read more
