Then 3 years later sell your canceled account to a collection agency who puts collections on your credit. Totally misleading sales pitch. They tell you it's only $39. A month but after all the add ons it $68 a month. Such a scam taking advantage of senior citizens. Additionally, the remote app doesn't work. We set it remotely and received text it was set. It was never set in the house. Somebody came to check the house and the alarm was never set. read more

Absolute worst customer I've ever suffered through. I wanted to end the service and had to spend a total of 4/12 hours on the phone, over 3 phones. I would be on hold for 90 mins only to be disconnected. I had to spam their Facebook page for days before someone reached out to me. A month after I left the service they sent me a bill for the month I wasn't even a customer... yay! Another 2 1/2 hours on the phone getting that mistake cleared up. Zero stars ! This is not an honest company. They are thieves and lock in contracts for an extended period of time. When the alarm stops working (which is all the time) they give you a date for a technician that is more than one month away. When that date rolls around , the technician never shows up. When you call to inquire , they give you another date that is over a month away and the cycle continues. This is not a real company and they are more of a liability than they are security. If I could give them a negative 10 rating it still would not be low enough.. They are the absolute worst customer service, I left ADT because they offered a lower rate with no contract and use the same ADP equipment.. The system started giving me problems about 6 months ago, they had me on the phone with a technician to do a "DIY" for the security box.. That didn't work and then they never got back to me. When I called to cancel I found out that it was a 60 month contract and the people who sold me the service was actually a 3rd party provider "Skyline Security".. If you look on the BBB website it is plastered with the same complaints as mine.. "Misleading and deceiving" new customers with false claims.. They can do this because once they have your signature they change & sell the contract to Brinks and then they are off the hook. Stay away from Brinks !!!!!! read more

if I could give this a -5 I would. Our home alarm had been with AT&T without a glitch for the past five years, we were recently changed to Brinks when AT&T left the security industry. Getting help is almost impossible. We have no access to our air conditioning through a thermostat that was put in place through the system. We called for help and had to wait two months for an appointment approximately one day prior to the appointment. We got a call that we would be rescheduled for a month later when the technician showed up a month later his only response was our thermostat was incompatible with their system. Mind you for the first six months it worked fine. The technician who clearly did not know what he was doing. Suggested we call an HVAC company to rewire the entire air conditioning heating system to their specs on their thermostat and left since that time, three months ago I have still not been able to get Brinks on the phone nor to arrange for someone to help this problem. customer service is abysmal. I'm sick of hearing they don't have enough people to work and so they have to spread things out. When they acquired all the AT&T systems, they were completely unprepared to handle the changes I had to pay over $800 for this new system and it does not work now. I will have to go elsewhere. If this can't be rectified and spend even more money. In my mind this has been nothing short of a total rip off and a company that cannot handle nor respond appropriately to their clients needs. Look elsewhere than Brinks, if I could send everything back and start over with a new company I would. I'm just thankful my house is alarmed. read more

Terrible. DO NOT USE. Agree with others that this is not an honest company. I recently moved and like others, they claim that I need to pay out the period of the contract, even though the new occupants are paying for the service. In other words, they are getting paid twice for the same service. just awful. I have repeatedly asked them to send me the contact they keep referring to, but they refuse to send it. I would have given 0 stars if I could. Customer care is non existent. They are charging me for monthly service fees that they cannot fulfill. I have called numerous times to get my payment reversed and it has been six weeks and not a response from them. I call weekly and get no answers. Do not use this company for your security needs. This company is not an honest company. They took over my contract from another alarm security company. I notify them that I would be moving and that the contract will end in September and I will not be renewing it. I have just found out that they never terminated the contract I called them and they told me that they have been nailing things to me at my original address which I told him I no longer lived. This company has no scruples. They have been taking out monthly for service for over a year now even though I told the company that I was moving and that they should terminate when contract is up. I spoke to managers I spoke to supervisors nobody will give me my money back. I'm going to follow this up with small claims court. read more

Brinks Home Security appears to be operating in a fraudulent manner and is a company to be avoided at all costs. You are far better off without any security system than dealing with a company like Brinks. They took over our account from Protect America (I assume an acquisition or merger) a couple of years ago at our old house. We were month to month (not under contract). We moved out of our old house in May 2021, and sold the house in July. I tried calling in multiple times in July to cancel but every single time left on hold from their automated system for more than 20 minutes before giving up. I tried chat on their web-site, but was informed they could not process any cancellation, nor could they give me an email to write to cancel. I wrote a letter to them in August (USPS) stating again my wish to cancel the account as we no longer owned the house (and no longer had service there!), but got no reply. I finally got an email address and emailed them multiple times in Sept/October again expressing my wish to cancel the account, but still no response. I continued to try calling in Oct/Nov/Dec but never once could get a single human being on the line at the 800# they said I would need to call. I wrote another letter in December & attached a copy of the previous letter I had written, and mailed it again. Still no reply. Now they continue to send me bills for service at a house we moved away from 8 months ago (we sold it in July but actually moved out of that house in May 2021, so we have had no service from Brinks since May/June 2021!). I tried texting a number that they gave in their automated recording, but after trying that it said it could not process any account cancellation "for your own security". They are continuing to bill us adding to our bill "late fees" and monthly service for a house we do not even own. I tried again calling twice today, each time I was on hold for more than 15 minutes after wading through their automated system, waiting for a representative, but gave up after getting calls coming through I had to take. Brinks Home Security is a dishonest company. They are running a scam where they keep billing your card and make it impossible for you to cancel by simply not answering the phone, but telling you that's the only way to cancel. Nice trick. This is one of the sleaziest companies I have ever dealt with. My 96 year old mother had a home security system installed with Monitronics 15 years ago which was bought out by Brinks. She had called to see if she could get her pricing lowered and they didn't really lower it but locked it in for a two year commitment early in 2018. By June her health became worse and she could no longer live alone. After calling to cancel service when I moved her out they informed me she had to pay out contract until 2020. The only way they would stop billing her was with a death certificate or verification she was in a nursing home. I have her on a wait list for an assisted living but have to wait for availability. The facility sent a letter that her contract was signed and they still won't let her off the hook for her monthly payments. No care for humanity. Stay away from this uncaring company read more

Stay away from Brinks Home Security. It will take at least 45 minutes to get someone in tech support-3 minutes for 911 to be called. Overpriced under delivered and the 90 day satifaction guarantee will still cost you shipping and the activation fee even if you cancel 3 days later! read more

I was a customer of Select Home Security since 2016. Select has wonderful customer service and techs. I received a email that Brinks Home is taking over the accounts with Select Home Security. I decided to cancel my service a month in advance before Brinks Home took over for Select. I have been receiving billing statements from Brinks Home ever since. I've called them advised Brinks I am not a customer please do not bill me. Brinks requested that I email customer service sending them a copy of my cancelation letter which I did, the following month I received another bill from them with a $5 late fee. I have been on the phone with them for over 50 minutes now, I have spoken with 2 customer service reps, transferred to Alex a supervisor, Alex conveniently put me back into the queue. I am currently speaking with another rep that cannot help me and is transferring to a supervisor that can help. Over an hour now trying to resolve this issue. My next call will be to the BBB and the attorney generals office. DO NOT go with Brinks home security they are the worst! read more
