Our server Sebastian started us off with our drink order. We were late for lunch and early for dinner, so we had the place to ourselves and they let us sit where we wanted to and that was nice. I had the lobster bisque and it was delicious. Followed by the lasagne and it was quite large and tasted amazing. My brother Bill had the Wedge salad and thought OMG is this good! Followed by his Spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were a mixture of beef with pork and seasoning and fresh Parmesan cheese along with the spaghetti it was quite wonderful. Been craving calamari for about a month & finally got the chance to catch it here which I enjoyed in the past. We were seated outside at the bar at a high top table . My husband and waited about 10 minutes before I had to go ask the hostess if he could notify a server. He advised that the bartender should serve us. I came back n sat down and waited for about a minute and then STILL had to flag the bartender down. Mind you, this is the same bartender that had already looked over at us when we sat down. I didn't know he was the one that would be serving us. Also the bar wasn't 100% full. We ordered our food which we order off the HH menu. Everything came out at once. I bit into a piece of calamari. COLD! I tried about 2 other pieces and even put it against my face to make sure I wasn't trippin. COLD! We ate the shrimp n eggplant & margherita flatbread that we ordered. The calamari that I sent back came back. Wayyy less sauce and oddly had white sauce on it as if they just threw some pieces together. AGAIN , my calamari was not hot but warmer than the last batch. We received the check ... and apparently they only "pretend" to comp the bill bc a customer received cold food just so the kitchen can make a reorder but no type of compensation for the customer receiving cold food . It's bullshxt & I doubt I will return after this incident . I'm normally a graceful person but after the bartender not checking on us not even once, I won't be extending any grace. 3 things about this place: 1. This place is located outside the International Mall, near the food court. There are variety of options to choose from and decided to go to Brio. The place was clean but the receptionist was not friendly at all, and when sitting down, no menus were given to us by the same person and had to ask our waitress for the menu. 2. Margarita flatbread, Chicken Caesar Salad, Lobster and Shrimp Fettuccini, and Shrimp and Scallop Risotto were ordered. The foods came out at a reasonable time which was a plus. 3. Margarita flatbread was amazing, chicken caesar salad was pretty bland and dry with barely any dressing, lobster and shrimp fettuccini was super salty for my taste. They could've reduced the salt for the sauce. Also, the scallops inside the risotto had a fishy taste, which ruined the appetite. Overall, in my opinion, the quality of Brio has gone down throughout the years, and I just don't know if it's worth the price anymore. read more

We came to Brio Italian Grille for their Taste of Tuscany special (3 course meal for $25 per person). The restaurant is very cozy. It feels like a slightly more upscale Olive Garden. Our server was incredibly kind and repeatedly apologized for the longer wait due to a banquet that was taking place at the same time. For salad, you can either get the chopped salad or the Caesar salad. We were two people, so we got to try both thankfully. The Caesar salad was very creamy and savory. It was a much richer dressing than the chopped salad which had a vinegar base. I really enjoyed both salads. For the entrees, we got the chicken Milanese and the Sicilian shrimp spaghetti. Both were very large portions! The chicken Milanese was a bit oily, but the cheesy flavor on the pasta was so indulgent and delicious. The Sicilian shrimp spaghetti was lighter with tomato sauce. I loved the artichoke and shrimp. For dessert, we ended with a tiramisu and vanilla bean crème brûlée. Their dessert was outstanding! Clearly made in-house and so light and airy. I would get a dessert to go any day from this place. I also tried their cheesecake which was equally high quality. Brio Italian Grille is great for comfort food. Don't expect authentic Italian food, but expect an Americanized version that's honestly pretty decent. read more

This made a world of difference. I really enjoyed the lobster bisque. It had a very rich texture. I'd eaten in the bar area at Brio before... but oooo, this was different. We were seated in the far corner, right next to the door to the patio dining area, which was a) hot but b) gave us a glorious view of the soaring ceiling and a peek-a-boo look at the upstairs. The setting was positively swoon-worthy... sort of velvety and luxe. This was niiiice. We had reservations for 6pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. Our server was sooo great... didn't rush us or hover... and kept our water glasses full at all times. We started with cocktails (cheers) and everyone had something different and loved it. I opted for the margarita, which was sooo smooth with Casamigos tequila. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one, before switching to Chardonnay (also yum) as the food arrived. I chose the Chicken Limone, which is done piccata style with capers. It came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. Oh, it was divine... and such a generous portion! This is something I'll order again and again. Now, mind you, it was $30... but that seems fair given the amount of food and the ambiance. We'll make this a "celebration place," and save for a while, so we can do it up big. Brio is at the International Olaza near Tampa Airport. There's lots of parking, but that area can get busy-since there are so many restaurants, all in a row. First, the nice things: We have eaten here about four times in the past 6 months. Normally things go well. We arrived as a group of 4 about 7p on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted and sat fairly quickly. The food was good. Now, the reason for 2 stars: Waitress was very inattentive. Never refilled drinks. She bussed plates off of other tables and just placed the dirty plates on an empty table next to us. We told her how to split up the checks and she screwed that up. Our server was awesome and that was the best thing about it at this place. When it was time to use the Groupon, the manager,Celine, would not honor it. She was extremely rude and prejudicial. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, and the host greeted us warmly and seated us right away, which was a nice touch after walking around the mall. Glenda and her crew did a fabulous job taking care of our family event. Anthony was a great help while we set up centerpieces. The room was a great fit for what we needed. Our guests had 3 entree options. The beef medallions were tender and cooked perfectly. The lemon chicken was okay. My husband and I visited the Brio's at the International Plaza in Tampa today to celebrate our anniversary. The positives: the restaurant looks nice and had an open kitchen concept, the manager was attentive, and the lasagna and crème brulee were decent (but not great compared to other Italian restaurants in the area). The negatives: there were FLIES flying over our table the entire time we were there which took our appetite away and grossed us out, the fettucine chicken alfredo was not good at all (it had a fake campbells canned after taste and the chicken was mediocre and chewy), the replacement carbonara pasta dish was not good either, the food is over price especially given the poor below average quality, and our server although friendly at first did not take good care of us and took to long to come check on us and bring us the bill. She did not check on us for over 15 minutes, so we had to flag someone else to help us with the dish that wasn't good to get it replaced by another dish that wasn't good either. She walked over our table several times and ignored us while taking care of other tables, she did not offer us more bread even though we wanted some more for the food, and she did not refill our waters for a very long time until we were pretty much done with our meal. She also forgot to bring my husband the splenda that he requested when we got there. Even though the manager was nice and tried to help the situation with the food that wasn't good; we didn't get good service and the food wasn't good; therefore, we would not go back. But kudos to the nice manager for trying. Sadly, we had a very disappointing anniversary celebration. read more

I came here Saturday night for a chairty event that was being held on the second floor. I have actually never heard of Brio, shame on me. I did not get to really check out the main dining area on the first floor as I directly went up the steps to the event. The food that was setup buffet style was some pizza, pasta, and bruchetta which are tasted good. The second floor also gas a balcony with seating and that was a very nice area to hang out with the great weather we were having that night. The service was very attentive and the guys working behind the bar were working extremely hard considering how many people were at this event. I would like to come here and sit in the main dining hall and try the food and hopefully bring this place to a five star review. read more

The food was spectacular and the spinach dip was Soo good! The crisp they use are delicious I could eat those for every snack. This review is for delivery for catering. My son wanted Italian food for his First Communion party. My husband said no pizza. Okay... Brio to the rescue! Other restaurants cater, but Brio offers online ordering and free delivery. Hurray! I ordered a chopped salad, lasagna, pasta alla vodka, and broccolini for 10 (half pan). My order came with bread. Utensils, plates and butter were available for free. The food was delivered a little early, and the delivery person called as he was pulling up. Everything was very well packaged and still warm. The pasta alla vodka and broccolini (and sourdough bread) were hits, and we had no leftovers of those. Thankfully, the lasagna reheats well, so I don't mind those leftovers! I highly recommend Brio if you need an easy, catered Italian-American meal. read more

***Update*** After I posted my review, I was contacted by the restaurant. They were very apologetic and said they were very concerned by what we had experienced. They had conversations with the involved parties. We were invited back to give the restaurant another try. Our friends from church who we go to dinner with quite a lot really like Brio so we thought we would give it another try. We went Sunday night. It was less crowded. The service was impeccable. I ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto again. It was a completely different dish. Seasoned and mixed property, full scallops, and the sauce missing from the first time was present. The biggest surprise was my wife's lobster bisque. Lobster bisque is something I see on menus a lot, but rarely do I enjoy it when I have it. It is hard to do well. Well, the bisque at Brio was outstanding. It was the star of the dinner, even though the risotto was really good this time. Overall, it was a completely different experience. I can see why our friends like the restaurant. I would not have gone back again after our first experience, but now, we would gladly eat here again. I only gave 4 stars because of the first time, but with another meal like Sunday night, I expect to change it to 5 stars. read more

Went to Brio Italian Grill at UTC tonight We've been there many times over the years, but it continues to go down. This is a business that is slowly dying. We ordered and the waiter said that if we wanted he could bring some dinner rolls for an additional four dollars, but that they no longer offer bread service. I said, that's half the reason That we come here is for the great bread. The waiter said that yeah we're sorry, but that came down from corporate a week or so ago. My son got a lemonade and that was six dollars. I got an unsweetened iced tea that was four dollars. Then I remembered that on one of my last visit I ordered a glass of house Chardonnay and it was outrageous like $15. I believe this business will not be there for very long, especially taking away basics like bread with a meal And overcharging for everything else.
