I've been with OPSM for a long time, although this isn't my usual store, although some of the optometrists working here are ones I've seen before. I was greeted by one of the staff who offered to help me choose some frames, and I ended up booking in for a check up (I was due), and they had an appointment in ten minutes time, perfect! The check is free, but they DO charge $60 for the photograph of your eyes. It's completely optional, but if you have certain medical conditions it's good to get that stuff checked out. The optometrist was lovely and thorough, and I also got a free trial of some contact lenses, a new type that are far more comfortable to those I'd previously had. In the end I came away ordering some new glasses, as well as covering them for damage and loss, well worth it in case I break these ones too! Look, I know there's places offering full sets of prescription glasses for next to nothing, and if I wore them only sometimes I'd probably do that, but for all day every day, I want nice, comfortable, hard wearing frames that I like the look of, and OPSM have a great range, and throw in your UV protection, scratch protection, thinner lenses, and all of a sudden that $100 pair isn't really any less than what OPSM are charging. Certainly can't complain about this store, it's a good one!

When it first opened, like all clinics, we had no problem getting an appointment and getting in on the time we booked for. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and I thought hey, this could be our new doctor! In recent times, the waiting period has been very long... up to 1 hour. There are quite a few doctors here, but none are all that young. The other day I ran 15 minutes late because my daughter was running a fever and arrived there and the lady at the desk told me sorry I don't know how long you have to wait, you're late. I was a bit taken aback by her comment, because it doesn't take much to see I had a sick baby and all the other times I had to wait over an hour... the nerve. Anyway. I might put it down to the fact that maybe she was having a bad day... but I was not impressed. The doctor I saw was great and helpful... but the experience I had with the lady at reception had already left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. It is a good clinic, but expect to wait, and don't book your appointments for a Monday... you can easily wait over an hour like myself.

While at times there may be a long wait to see the Dr, I know this when making the appt and feel the dr I see there is worth the wait. Dr Linda Maloney has to be the warmest, kindest dr and I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else. You know that she runs late because she takes her time and doesn't rush patients in and out. She takes her time with them and is thorough.

However grumpy the staff look, they are actually super nice and understanding. (even if you are a half hour late for appointments.) I mainly come here because it is in such a convenient location. Smack bang on Queen st, it is literally a 5 min walk from the mall. The doctor's are friendly, NON-judgemental and have plenty of advice on hand. They also have a handy pathology lab upstairs and offer Bulk billing appointments (for those with health care cards.) If you're feeling poorly in the city these guys will help you get back on track.

So you can imagine my excitement at finding this OPTIKO store. (Just saying it out loud is fun.) I admit I betrayed my loyal Ray-bans many a time just for a fondle of their hand crafted frames. What I love about the store is the range of products on display from Cartier and Missoni to Dita. You can easily tell the amazing craftsmanship that has gone into making these unique designs. The store itself is also beautiful, the layout is simple and it really lets the products speak for themselves. If you are fortunate enough to be a fellow four eyes, I would get myself down to Tattersalls arcade pronto!

i have been a patient of Dr Tran for more than 15 yrs and not a bad word can i find to say about…read morethis beautiful caring Dr. She may be busy but she never makes you feel your rushed . not only is she great with adults she is fabulous with children too she has helped me & my children get threw so many health issues over the yrs & her caring manner also helped me cope with the loss of not only a grandchild but my father and close relatives which all hit me extremely hard. When giving needles she is very gentle and as scared as we all were of needles i can honestly say she is so gentle you never really feel them. My children are grown now but I have followed and stayed a patient of this lady all these yrs because when you are under her care your not just a patient she makes you feel like a friend and everyone can do with feeling that way when there unwell or troubled. Peter Haines at MJ Mylne Dental has been my dentist for the last six or seven years, and I'm very…read morehappy to keep my records there. Peter's a gentle older guy, very good at explaining what he's going to do prior to diving in without warning. When I told him that I get anxious about needles, he actually listened, giving me plenty of warning (and numbing gel) and talking me through everything. I assume this is his standard way of operating, as this is one of the reasons he was recommended to me by a workmate in the first place. The dental nurses and receptionists at MJ Mylne are also all lovely to deal with. There's generally very little wait time, and fillings are performed very quickly. There's another MJ Mylne clinic at Cleveland, and Peter spends his time between the two clinics, so some days he is available at Cleveland and other days at Capalaba. I'm abstaining from five stars for MJ Mylne Dental because in the last twelve months I had to take an appointment while Peter was on leave, and I wasn't a fan of the younger dentist who took my appointment. He was quite rough and spent the duration of my appointment chatting (to the point of flirting) with the dental nurse. Not Very cool - and yet if anything, made me more confident in choosing Peter as my dentist.
