This place has many menu items that are tasty. Their Fireside Burger is hot and spicy, but not excessively so. Their BBQ Bacon Burger is delicious. Their catfish is light and delicious. Their onion rings are nice and large, and are served with a ranch sauce that makes for delicious dipping, while their fries are seasoned well. You know what I like about Sonic? When it gets converted to a Brisket Burger! This place has counter ordering, small seating section, free refills, and plenty of napkins. Was not impressed with the burgers (had two of their highly recommended ones) and the chicken fried chicken lunch with very small servings of their corn and baked beans. Also had the sweet potato fries ( which were very good but had gotten cold while they waited on the rest of the order.) I have to be honest, this place has been inconsistent lately. The quality of food has varied drastically on my last 2 visits and my last 3 deliveries. I have received extremely indifferent service and super friendly service. My last visit, yesterday, was very friendly though. There have been slight menu changes. It feels like it has gotten more expensive. They still do their dailiy special plates Monday through Thursday and now have BBQ plates. You can still get a good burger here and when it's good, it's really good! However, I have also had very dry and bland burgers here. Yesterday, we were here because my husband arrived back early from a camping trip and was starving, but I didn't have much of an appetite. He got a 1/2 lb burger, but I decided to go with a kids cheeseburger. While he enjoyed his burger and ate almost all of it, I found the kids burger to lack any flavor except the mustard it was slathered in, and to have a chewy and chunky texture. To me, this is no longer a destination for a burger if I can't count on consistency. I want to know I can expect the quality every time. I cannot establish a pattern between day of week or time of day, so I have no suggestion or solution to offer. I miss when they were good all the time and hope they get back to that point. There's more to this place than burgers though. I've heard good things about their BBQ and you can now order 1, 2 or 3 meat plates. On our most recent visit, it smelled heavenly in there and it was because the table next to us got a chili cheese dog and that chili smelled delicious. I have yet to try their onion rings, but they look amazing! The kids meal came with seasoned fries that looked and tasted better than I remember their regular fries tasting. Maybe none of these things make it a destination, but these are all good options and positives. For me, I came for the sidewinder fries as I really like them here. I've had them a few times and they seem to get better with each try, I'm a fan. I had seen a review from Karen P. mentioning they are really good with cheese and I was going to have those yesterday regardless of whatever obstacles were in my way. I do want to make a comment about value here though. My husband got the 1/2 lb cheeseburger for $8, it costs $3 to make it a combo with fries and a drink, it's another $1.05 to upgrade to sidewinder fries and then add cheese on them. The kids meal seems like a fair portion at $5.99 but didn't feel like a great value with the lack of flavor and weird texture. When a full meal is great, I don't mind the price, but when it's bland or dry, I can't believe I paid that much. Yesterday I didn't feel like a $20 plus tip meal for a kids meal, 1/2 lb cheeseburger, sidewinder cheese fries and a regular drink with a 20 minute wait was a great value. Now, with the value and inconsistency being laid out, I have to say the sidewinder fries don't disappoint! I remembered wanting to try the cheese but didn't realize from the reviews or the menu that the cheese had jalapenos in it, until my first bite. It had a great kick and flavor and I love the texture and seasoning on the sidewinder fries. That being said, the more you dig in to fries soaking in jalapeno cheese for a longer period of time, the hotter they get! My husband loves spicy things and even he was shocked by some of the later bites. By the time we left, my mouth was on fire and stayed that way all the way home! I will still get those again, even if I find myself here (or ordering from here) less frequently. 3 stars because everything together is still A-OK. In all honesty, I will stick with fries and shakes until I see them get back to where they used to be with their burgers, or until they change their price/portion ratio to make it a more consistent value. read more

Brisket Burger in Denton was such an unexpected surprise. The name evokes an image of slabs of beef brisket laying on a bun. But what they actually sell is much much better! These people make a patty that is more a concoction of delight than mere meat. 1/3 Chuck Beef, 1/3 ground brisket, and 1/3... I think he said sirloin but I could be wrong. Whatever the measurements though, it is amazing. Juicy, delicious, and such flavor packed into every morsel! You can get your burger so many different ways. Add bacon, add chili, choice of cheese and the best bit for me is they offer Provolone cheese which I love! So happy to have that option. They have so much more too. Dogs, Burgers with a kielbasa on it, a breakfast themed burger with an egg (cooked over medium), they have fried pickle and they have wonderful root beer floats. They'll make you a brisket Philly sub if you like. Chicken sandwiches, Chicken Fried Steak sandwiches... It's like they reached into my brain and made a menu that they knew I would love. This place is my own cravings made manifest! I love burgers. They are my favorite thing to eat. More than any other food, any other cuisine you can name, burgers are my thing. Believe me when I say that these guys give Kincaid's in Fort Worth (where I live) or even my beloved Burger Street a run for their money. And those are not words I utter carelessly. They are careful chosen and judiciously applied, I can assure you. The burgers, were obviously great. If you read this far then that's pretty obvious I'd expect, but so much more than that. Every person working at the place was friendly and helpful. We took a while reading the menu but were never rushed, not one sigh was bellowed from behind the counter, nary even an eye-roll of derision. The staff seemed to all be proud of what they had to offer and it showed in the meal. SIDES! Burgers are wonderful, but a good side can make all the difference! Brisket Burger has you covered. I love this place! Such a great burger joint! I am vegetarian and they still make it great for me to eat here. They have a black bean patty that can be subbed on any of their burgers. I either get the black bean burger or the black and blue burger. I'm in love with the black and blue burger because blue cheese gives it such a creamy taste. So amazing. The servers are really awesome and the owner is very active in his business. I definitely recommend giving this place a try next time you're in Denton. If you're like me and have a hard time making a decision I highly suggest looking at the menu before hand then coming. When I stated someone was served well before me, she said it was because they were a single ticket. Why does that matter? I noticed that you could order the burger to be cooked at a different thoroughness (disclaimer at the bottom of the menu - they cook well done unless requested otherwise).
