The other thing that I think is a strength here is that not only do they sell American soda like lots of other candy stores, here they've had the foresight to keep it in a fridge. Everywhere else the imported drinks are just kept on the shelves so you have to carry them home and refrigerate them, but at The Sweet Zone if you want a nice, cold Welch's Grape Soda all you have to do is open the can. The prices of their imported good are also generally more reasonable than a lot of other similar shops who seem to raise the prices more than is justifiable to cover import costs. It's a good thing that I'm usually running late to catch my train because it means that as much as I want to stop and enter The Sweet Zone, I usually have to run past with a longing backwards glance. My waistline would like to thank Queensland Rail for scheduling trains in such a way that I'm perpetually sprinting up the escalators to my platform instead of skipping down the aisles at The Sweet Zone with an armful of candy which is where I'd rather be!

I stopped by on the way home and picked up a few treats for my sister (a bag of pineapples), and my best friend (a can of Dr. Pepper). What I love most about this store is it stocks a lot of candies that are hard to come by, and they're sold in snack-sized portions. I picked up a bag of Allen's Mackintosh's toffees, which my mum used to buy when we were kids, but I've since never seen in any other store. I also picked up some Big Red cinnamon gum, which is getting harder and harder to come by.

It may be known as a 'home business', however, the salon has a separate entrance to the home and when inside the salon, you will find it is fitted with art deco styled interiors. It has a boutique feel- I love it! As you get your hair cut and styled here, you can relax and enjoy the music playing or bury yourself in magazines. FYI; there are plenty of the latest fashion and gossip magazines laid out next to the mirror. The service here is professional and Belinda makes you feel like a princess whilst you get your hair done. Because she usually takes one client at a time, you'd feel spoilt and pampered here. She takes her time to achieve the cut and style the client wants and also has a great understanding for what styles can or cannot suit, so don't feel afraid to ask for her suggestions. She started coming here after she boycotted Yuen's at Market Square and all of the other Sunnybank groceries on the account of their poor customer service and lack of parking. On several occasions, I've visited UFM with my sister and it's true that they have great parking and wide shopping aisles which is important when you're a mum with a stroller. Even though they sell a cheap range of fruit and vegetables, it's skewed towards Asian stock so you'll find stuff like taro, bok choy and persimmons. Of course, they'll do oranges, bananas and other basic fruits but just don't expect to find three different varieties of potatoes or organic garlic bulbs. This supermarket also sells large quantities of nuts, pulses and spices at bargain prices. In terms of Asian cooking, it doesn't carry the same range as the larger Sunnybank Asian supermarkets. You'll have no trouble finding soy sauce or tofu but you possibly won't be able to find less common items such as maccha or kombu. Another noteworthy point about this business is that the shop assistants are really helpful. Last time my sister and I asked for a particular product, it wasn't stocked. The shop assistant carefully wrote down the name of the product and assured us she would look into it. Yeah right. The next time we came in, not only did she recognise us but she had actually ordered in the item and was now stocking it on the shelves. If you want to avoid the crowds in Sunnybank or you're in a rush to buy your Asian groceries, this Underwood supermarket is one to keep in mind.
