It's located outside Manchester but about a 10 minute drive off the M6 and only about 10 minutes drive to the airport so if you're looking for a convenient hotel that's a fraction of the price of the ones on the terminal then this is a great call. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough, maybe a touch dated, although ours was like an oven when we walked in but this was quickly rectified by cracking open a window and turning off the radiator. The major plus point for me was complete usage of the spa facilities which include a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - the perfect way to unwind before a flight the next day! The bar is a touch on the pricey side, but it is a hotel bar so no surprises there. I'd definitely stay here again if I was flying from Manchester.

One of our group had been undercharged on arrival, went to reception to try to correct it but no one knew about it when he went. He and I have now balanced this out rather than me wasting time with the hotel. Appalling behaviour. Would not visit again. Hotel may say I never stayed - the block booking was not in my name.

Another great experience with old reliable Premier Inn Hotels. It was my first stay in this…read moreparticular branch on the outskirts of Sale, Greater Manchester and it didn't disappoint. I'd hoped to find accommodation closer to the Metrolink but it was a football weekend so compromises had to be made when we wouldn't find a more ideal location. Despite the fact that they were undergoing some major works with a new extension and upgrading of the original building, it had no negative impact on our visit whatsoever. The staff couldn't have been lovelier or more helpful, and offered to order us a taxi should we need one. On our first day we walked to the Metrolink from the hotel and it took just over half an hour. Next day we drove to Sale Metrolink and parked in a side street instead. A few minutes on the Metro from Sale station and we were in the centre of Manchester. It won't come as a surprise that the beds were comfy and that pretty much everything we needed was present and correct in our room: tea, coffee, kettle, hairdryer etc. Okay it was a bit dated but a few months from now when the refurb is complete that will all change. Wifi is excellent and completely free at this Premier Inn. Not sure if they've rolled that out across the brand but I certainly appreciated having more than the usual half an hour complimentary access to the internet. Business/heavier users can pay for a premium wifi service if required. Plenty of free parking here and breakfast can be taken at the adjoining pub. We headed off and ate elsewhere so I can't comment on the quality, though Premier Inn breakfasts are usually pretty decent and hearty.
