Brix is a unique bar and grill. We came in as a group of 7 for a senior birthday. We entered on the restaurant side and informed them of our reservation for a private room. We were then escorted through the bar to an area in the back that had a very interesting 'prohibition era' feel to it. As these private rooms are in the bar side, no minors are allowed. The room we had definitely had that 'speakeasy' feel with the rough brick wall on one side and an interesting wallpaper on another with a cocktail waitress and James Bond type silhouettes. Bonnie was our server and she was truly a cheerful personality. The drinks and food orders were placed and all arrived with only a minor mishap, but the staff took immediate steps to correct the situation and all was well. There were a lot of breakfast options for us to choose from as we were there before noon. However, I saw the Philly and had to try it. The Philly had a nicely prepared skirt steak with excellent beef flavor. The onions and bell pepper were sautéed perfectly with mushrooms, and there was a nicely melted cheese layer. What caught me off guard was a little kick from an unexpected jalapeño sauce? Later I found it out to be a jalapeño lime creme sauce. Apparently it was stated plainly on the menu but they had me at 'Philly'. I still liked it, it was uniquely theirs. Others in our group had the Avocado Toast, Country Potatoes and assorted omelettes. The food was good, the private room added to the enjoyment of our family gathering. The friendly service also contributed greatly to our experience. Went on Halloween. Wanted to give this place another chance. BAD IDEA! This time the food was just ok, not great. The problem this time was the service. IT WAS TERRIBLE. Way to many servers coming to the table. No one paying attention to the guests needs. We kept waiting for our food. I had to ask twice where our order was, and only after half an hour did the food arrive.( not many other people in the dining room). What a joke!!! We have lived in the area for many years and had yet to try Brix Grill. I wish we had done so earlier. We went at the beginning of the dinner hour. We had reservations. They seated us immediately. After looking at the menu, we found so many appetizers that sounded great, we decided to share multiple appetizers instead of getting a main meal. The mushrooms were excellent. The steak bites also excellent. On the way there, my wife said she wanted a beet salad. Just so happens they have one on the happy hour menu. It was also very good. We got the Baja potato kegs, which was good, but not as good as the other items. In looking at the menu as I write this, I think they left the jalapeno lime creme off. I think that might have pushed it over the top. The waiter was excellent, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. We finished off with dessert, which was just OK in our opinion, but my wife is a great baker, so we may be spoiled in that department. I noticed others mentioned noise. We made sure to get seated in the restaurant side and not the bar side and had no problems with noise. We will be making this a regular place to eat. read more

We were visiting family in Winston. They suggested we come here for breakfast. My son's eggs benedict was delicious. I was craving pancakes and ordered eggs and bacon as a side, so my husband and I could split the meal (we don't eat a LOT of food). I'm deducting one star, because the cook "snuck" a burned pancake in the middle of the stack! LOL I decided to let that go, and ate half of the two that weren't burned. My husband couldn't eat the burned pancake either. The server commented about the burned pancake as she cleared out plates, but didn't offer an apology or price adjustment. We were having such a good time that I didn't say anything. I'm sure this was just a fluke. Next time we're visiting, we'll come here again. read more

This place is a great find! Hubby and I like lunch and beers for breakfast and The Brix did not disappoint!! He had a unique Gourmet burger that he truly enjoyed and hubby is a good truck chef so he knows a good burger. I had a grilled sandwich that filled the bill. A wonderful find in downtown Roseburg. They serve breakfast until 3pm! We were on I5 and wanted an omelette and we weren't disappointed. Service was a bit slow but there was only one server covering all of the tables and the bar. Good food, fair price, and well worth skipping the fast food restaurants for a high quality meal. We found this place on yelp and decided to stop by. It was my husband and my son. We parked on the street but there was plenty of parking. My favorite part was the decor it is so cute and cozy. This place is beautiful inside. The service is really good. The service definitely flowed and everyone was so attentive especially towards my son. I ordered an omelette that was pretty good. My husband had huge pancakes with bacon and eggs. My son had eggs and sausage. Everything was delicious. The bathrooms were very clean. Overall we had an amazing experience and the bill came it was $30 for 3 people. This place is definitely a 5 star I will definitely return. read more

It's Veterans Day. While my expectations are "not every establishment isn't going to hone the day" a brief thank you for your service would be nice for the sacrifices we make so someone else doesn't have to. It's a shame. Anyway, I ordered an open face sandwich with avocado slices, tomatoes, and onions. Don't put the top of an open faced sandwich on the extras. I'm adding Brix grill to my road trip pit stop lists! It's not too far off the 5 and worth the drive. The Reuben sandwich was excellent, fries hot and fresh, my mom loved it. They make the meat in-house. I got the Seared Ahi platter with avocado and pickled onions, it was a delicious light meal, if you're not ravenous. The service was great, our water glasses were never empty and we had everything we needed. Definitely will return. read more

Other reviews indicate this place has gone downhill. We are new to Roseburg and have been here twice based on the good reviews. Gotta say our experiences were very mediocre based on the food. Got a butter burger and it was more of a burnt mess. Bun burnt, onions burnt, burger cooked to a level of extreme dryness. Big pet peeve with places that ask you what temperature you want and then don't even come close. No sign of the buttery cheesy gooeyness as descrimed in the menu. Fries were under cooked? My wife got salmon which was also extremely overcooked. Seated where we were could see the kitchen and it watched some very uninspired staff cranking out plates like a fast food chain. Everything looked very over cooked. Service was gre8at, appears to be a management/ownership neglect issue. No quality control. 2 strikes, opportunity for a 3rd probably wont happen. The service has always been mediocre but the food is amazing and the restaurant is very nice. Although the last time I came I chose to sit close to the kitchen where it's open and you can see the cooks at work. If you want a pleasant meal do not sit by the kitchen. The men in the kitchen have the most disgusting behavior i've seen in a workplace. They treat the women awful. They are cussing up a storm and are very passive aggressive to other staff. One of the cooks after talking to a woman server made the comment "either speak up or shut up" and then the other cooked laughed and mumbled under his breath "shut the f up" It is very unfortunate to hear the things being said regardless of the fact that customers can hear. Brick has a great roof top space as well as lots of indoor seating. Some of the items are pricey. So it's not a regular go to place for us. The fish tacos were on the smaller side for the price of $14.00 for blackened. The Forage Salad with added chicken was very good. The apple sesame vinaigrette was delicious. read more

Just yes. From the drinks to the apps, to dinner to dessert, it's all one big yes!! We chose this place first because it's a local business and second as it was recommended by my cousin. There is a lounge side and a restaurant side, both are worthy. The staff is so upbeat, friendly and helpful it was a wonderful start to a wonderful experience. My new bestie there makes a mean Moscow mule, but I had two with a twist. The first was a peach mule...peach vodka added the perfect sweetness to pair with the mint, lime and ginger ale. Second was PEAR!! We didn't think anything could beat the peach, this just about did. Perfectly muddled and flavor was just exceptional. Food: it was excellent. I had the Gorgy burger. It's always a good sign when they ask how you want your burger cooked! And it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. With the melted Gorgonzola, it was a perfect bite every time. The fries were downright amazing. They were so crispy, but soooo fluffy and tender on the inside. Addictive for sure, and I tried one of the 'Fancy Ranchies' with them: jalapeño ranch is a yes please. Special of the day was prime rib. It was certainly the prime spot for two of our diners. Perfectly pink prime rib, very tasty demi over it, veggies roasted so well. The demi was a nice touch with the roasted veggies for sure and the horseradish...z had to make it in house with real whipping cream. It was the perfect mix of indulgence and horseradish. Mashed potatoes were just simply divine. Seasoned to make you want to eat them ALL. This east a perfect Friday night, truly special addition to the menu. The table ordered two pasta bowls: steak and shroom and chicken caprese. Both had pasta cooked so very well and were so tasty. I'd order one any time. And both were good portions. The caprese chicken was battered Ana stayed crispy is the creamy Alfredo sauce. The steak and shroom bowl was just bursting with umami. We've been here several times for breakfast and are never disappointed. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Management (Tatiana) was wonderful in the instance where I left my coat at the restaurant and wasn't able to return for its retrieval for almost two weeks. She told me she would put it in the office and the staff could retrieve it when I returned. I very greatly appreciate this gesture and hope to return to Brix soon. read more

Sometimes it's really difficult to rate a place especially when there are great things about it and also not great at all things. We found this at Brix Grill. To begin with the server was excellent. He was attentive, informative and just downright, very good. We had absolutely no complaints about the service. It was definitely topnotch. We were not impressed with the dinner menu. Now if we had come for breakfast we wouldn't be saying that. The breakfast menu looked great. However, impossible to order breakfast at 5:00 in the evening. The dinner menu was "different" as only a couple items were in the norm of other dinner houses. We were expecting to go out for a nice dinner and didn't feel we had the options we were looking for. So, we ended up ordering a reuben. We agreed, however, that the reuben sandwich was the best we had ever tasted. The corned beef was really corned beef and not some deli item. It was absolutely delicious. Another person at our table ordered clams. The clams were delicious but the sauce in the bowl was not. We ordered red velvet cake for dessert. The cake tasted dry. Actually it might have been because it was stored in the refrigerator. The outside was rather hard. We had a couple bites but did not eat the rest. The reuben was great and service was great. We stopped at this restaurant last year on our way to our son's home in Washington. We enjoyed it so much that we planned our stop this year so we could have dinner here. My husband had the cheese steak sandwich and I had the honey salmon bowl. Both were good. We finished it off with caramel crunch cake. It was awesome! The miscommunication between the kitchen workers and servers was clear. We sat near the kitchen, and could hear bickering between workers. We also called ahead to ask if the rooftop seating was available and if it was a family-friendly location, and they told us yes. Arrived here around 915 am. We found street parking right away and got seated just as quickly. There are both high and low tables here but of course my kid wants to sit at the high table with the high stools. So that's where we sat. My son ordered their special which was a California Benny. I got the salmon Benny, and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. I also had to order a single blueberry pancake in the side because I always need that something sweet after a savory breakfast meal. It had a little bit of lemon zest which I like but my husband disagreed. Come onnnnnnn, blueberry and lemon make a great combo, am I right?! I found Brix Grill on Yelp after searching for local brunch spots. I haven't gotten the chance to check out Roseburg's old town, so I appreciated that Brix Grill was located in this area. My cousin, sister, and I arrived to Brix Grill around 7:30am on a Friday. There were a few small parties at the restaurant already, so there was plenty of available seating. We were advised to grab a table wherever we wanted. Brix Grill was a contemporary casual restaurant with a chill neighborhood vibe. I liked the brick walls and antique mirror decor. In addition to the main dining area, there was a cafe inside where you can stop by for some coffee to-go and/or grab a quick bite of their cakes. The cakes on display looked delicious by the way, ranging from birthday cake to cheesecake and chocolate cake. Further back into the restaurant was a mini-bar. The women's bathroom was very clean. Our waitress was amazing. I didn't catch her name, but she had long blonde hair. She was the only server at the time, but she was managing all the tables like a pro. She was warm and welcoming, had a great attitude, and kept a smile on her face. She was also super attentive and regularly checked on every table. The food at Brix Grill was great. I ordered the Avocado Toast, which consisted of mashed avocado, sourdough bread, 2 over medium eggs, goat cheese, and microgreens garnished on top. I asked to have ham added to it. As simple as it was, the avocado toast was so good. I was thinking that I was going to get slices of deli ham, but I was pleasantly surprised that I got a thick cut of Canadian bacon instead. I wasn't super hungry for breakfast, and it was the right portion size. I was happy and satisfied with my choice. I tried a bite of my sister's crab cake Benedict, which was yummy as well! Super cool place on the inside - muster up the courage to go in what looks like a seedy bar scene from outside. Place has a fun /fantastic menu. Loved the separate dining rooms down the hall (good for private parties) and the upstairs room and patio access to just party.
