Ok, first things first. Yelp should remove that 1-star review for Broadway Floral. Clearly, the reviewer was rating something that had very little to do with Broadway Floral. Now that that is out of the way, let's move on. Here's the bottom line of my review up front: she helped make my mother's funeral beyond beautiful. I will FOREVER be grateful to Jodi and the whole Broadway Floral team for what they did for my mom and my family. Here's the background and details behind my experience: my wife and I visited her amazing shop in person. Jodi was extremely warm and personable and sat down to help us figure out what we wanted. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in good hands. Then, she proceeded to exceed our hopes and expectations with some amazing arrangements, as well as rustic boxes for the flowers that matched the tone of our event. When we needed a low-key container for mom's ashes and we wanted to use a square flower box... SHE MADE A LID FOR IT! There were many other above-and-beyond personal touches Jodi provided to help make the memorial a success. This message is for Jodi. I ordered a funeral arrangement last week for my cousin and told her he was a vet and very patriotic. I requested something red, white and blue and left the details up to her within my price range. She was very helpful in figuring out the exact location of the service in a very rural area. Our arrangement was front and center at the service and again at the luncheon after. Received many thanks from the widow. The arrangement was beautiful with red, white and blue gorgeous flowers and a red, white and blue ribbon to boot! The second time, I ordered flowers late on a Saturday evening, hoping to have them delivered on Monday morning. The person on the phone offered to deliver them on their way home that Saturday evening, I was so grateful! I have used Broadway Floral to send flower to my mother for many different occasions. I always called direct, and told them to use their creativity to make what they thought was best. The results were always wonderful. The flowers lasted for weeks. Mon pass this month and we made arrangements with them for flowers. We brought them a photo of the casket and they worked with us to create harmonious arrangements. The woman I spoke with was pleasant and efficient and the arrangement was delivered to Reuben's Landing on the day promised. I ordered flowers for delivery using FTD. The order was placed on February 11, 2013 for delivery on February 13, 2013. Broadway Floral was the local florist contracted to do the actual delivery. The floral arrangement ordered on the 11th, for delivery on the 13th, was actually delivered ONE WEEK late on February 20, 2013. Several attempts were made on the 13th and 14th to find out the status of my order. In fact, I received notification via e-mail that they attempted to deliver the flowers on February 14, one DAY late, but this was a LIE. No attempt was made on February 14. Then I received notification that the flowers were delivered on February 14. This was also a LIE. No arrangement was delivered. Almost all times that I can recall for flowers to be ordered, timing is everything. Birthday, Funeral, Wedding, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, I'm Sorry, Just because - the timing MATTERS. It is the reason for sending the bouquet in the first place. Therefore, my expectation is to have flowers delivered on the day that I paid for them to be delivered. For this type of product/service, ONE WEEK late is unacceptable and consumers need to be made aware of this lack of timeliness in this type of business. This company did not provide the service they were contracted to do in a timely fashion, and there is no real way to make up for the disappointment they provided. In full disclosure, Broadway Floral did deliver an additional bouquet of flowers as an apology to the recipient for the late delivery. While this is a nice gesture, it just doesn't make it right; therefore I wanted to submit this review to alert other customers of the potential reliability issue with this company in the timeliness of delivery. I did contact them privately via Facebook, but received no response. One other note that made me even more disappointed, on Broadway Floral's public Facebook page they advertised on February 14 for same day delivery of flowers, when they still had not delivered my order from February 11, for February 13 delivery. read more
