We went there to watch the Green Bay Packer football game. Drink prices were reasonable and the bartenders very friendly. As a bonus they had free barbecue sandwiches and popcorn. Packers won which made it even better. read more

Johnny has it right, it is a great place for cheap beers and great people watching. It is literally the Walmart of bars... Thus, you get the perfect blend of local trash and visitors to make it an enjoyable yet slightly uncomfortable experience. One huge downside for me is the fact that people can still smoke in WY bars. Thus, I would opt for bottles over draft beer because the bartenders tend to smoke as they serve you (gross)... However, if stuck in Torrington (let's hope you are not), hit up the Bronco for a descent time. read more

As one that may not be a local in Torrington, but as one that calls it his hometown, I would shine a more illuminating light over what exists in the dark shadows that somehow envelops this entire bar. Sure, it feels like a cowboy bar and why not - you're in cowboy country. However, the diversity of the clientele here sure don't care about keeping with the theme. Like the other reviews you're likely to see something interesting in almost any weekend or holiday visit. Moreover, I strangely meet people that I haven't seen for years in what might be more of an impromptu and accidental class reunion. It could get awkward - or, it could be a good way to catch up with some old friends. The outcome of that encounter largely depends on two things: are either of you a douch-bag, or are either of you reeeeally drunk. As for the alcohol selection, you've got a fairly nice list of things to choose from. The bartender should be able to make a few well-known drinks for you if you're so inclined. By and large it would appear that most of those that come here drink macro-beer (Bud, Coors, et al.) and for discerning craft-beer enthusiast such as myself, there even happens to be a few options from O'Dell or New Belgium. My expectations are always really low whenever I come to Torrington so I can't get bent out of shape about something that I would otherwise demand to have in my frequented watering holes in Colorado. Overall, if you don't mind looking at stuffed animal carcasses on the wall, listening to throw-back and classic rock and country, mingling in with the common folk of the hard working community of Torrington, then you're in the right place. North of Cheyenne. Miguel said he knew an old friend from the Navy who set up a life around these parts. Just the sort of man I'd need to help me get my hands on some items. I don't know the lay of the land. All I had was a barely legible number written on a bar napkin. I pulled over to a phone box on the side of the road and called. A gruff voice, worn no doubt from years of that tobacco and Thai whiskey, answered. "My name's Jack. My friend Miguel said I could call you if I needed some..." I paused "...supplies". He hung up on me. Miguel told me he might. I tried again and the phone rang interminably without getting picked up. I hung up and kept at it. Eventually I gave up. I smoked for a while next to the phone booth, pondering all the great mysteries. My thinking was interrupted by the phone ringing. I answered. "Bronco Bar. Tonight." That was it. No details. I arrived at the bar that afternoon and set up at the bar. The bartender was a slender man who introduced himself as Cody. I didn't care for the name and his cheery nature seemed inappropriate for the location. I took advantage of a happy hour deal that had me 7 pints in with barely a dent in my pocket. My face was warm from the alcohol and the orange embers from the setting sun lulled me into a state of contentment I hadn't enjoyed since I was back east. Around 7, after a few locals found their way to the pinball machine, a behemoth of a man trudged to me. He didn't make eye contact. "How's Miguel?" I stared straight ahead. "Two kids and a 9-5". "For him that's making it." "We're not all cut from the same cloth." He chuckled. It seemed unfamiliar to him but I sensed he and I were probably a lot like. That's why Miguel gave me his info I'm sure. "Talk business now or are you ordering?" I asked "Haven't eaten all day. And the wings here are great. Crispy but not over cooked. A real deal. And as part of their happy hour you can't do any better." We drank away the night, side by side, commiserating about the lives we lead. Last call came around like a Jehovas witness, unwelcome, offering light where I wanted darkness. The clamor of drunks stumbling to the driveway, a soon-to-be regretted one-night stand in the works between a couple of twenty-somethings. The night was over for me and my drinking companion. "Follow me," he said, getting up from the bar, throwing some cash down, and walking to the exit. In the parking lot, he lit up a cigarette and leaned against an SUV. It was more befitting of a soccer mom. But when you run guns, it helps not to stand out. "Mile marker 68. It's about 2 miles east." He got into his car and pulled out. We stopped in this bar to watch some football during our travels from Idaho to Minnesota. Three of our teams we follow were playing at the same time and we were able to watch all three! My buddies steak was dry and cold, chop steak I had wasn't even a chop steak it was an 1/8" piece of leather that was also cold, took almost an hr to get our food with only 3 tables full. Probably won't come back. Only reason it's not a one star is the waitress was really nice read more

Great little dive bar in the middle of a small Wyoming town. A great place to go when there is live music. Cheap beers, friendly bartenders, and great people watching with the occasional bar fight make this a must stop watering hole! This place is a favorite bar of mine. read more

Best lil town Bar I have been to yet the staff keep things in order and I know most all of them and they treat my party or when it's just me there really well. All ways had mixed crowds of people and best of all its non smoking now. Great place to go have some drinks, fun and good food. read more
