I'm unsure of the Nursery's hygiene - when my daughter went to the nursery, most of the children had runny noses and some had dry snort around their nose, honestly it doesn't take a second to wipe the children down before parents pick them up!! Secondly, their water bottle - they seem to let the children drink out of each others bottles - no wonder they sent emails constantly about; Scarlet Fever, Chicken Pox, Stomach bug etc... honestly, i'm shocked Ofstead still scores them as 'Good'
My daughter used the same bottle for over a year - it was so gross, I challenged and they referred me to the manager who unfortunately isn't action orientated.
A few times I was welcomed with a story (said in a high pitch tone) about why my daughter was covered in bruises... I noted that other kids had injuries, I mean seriously, where are the staff when the 'accidents' took place!! Hence i had to remove my daughter from the nursery. I figured the 4th time was enough as a mother
Like I said, the main issues I had was the HYGIENE - if you are taking your kids or considering taking them to BRONTE, PLEASE do so only because they are located by the station and nothing else. They let kids sleep for over 2 plus hours (totally ruining bed time routines), they do not practice Oral Hygiene or Potty Train (until they are 3-4). You will arrive to an unkept child.
Additionally, they do not give discount when they turn 2 & only give 15hrs free not the 30hrs once they turn 3 all because they are located by Gravesend St.
I hope they clean up their act, if not because of their reputation but because of the kids they help us raise. Nursery/schools etc are an important instrument in influencing our childrens behaviours. So I plead with you please really consider taking your child else where or sit down with management and draw up a plan for your childs upkeep whilst they are there. read more
