A good value and nice facilities, tempered by constant staffing issues, zero cell phone reception…read moreand concierge service that never materializes. Lake Travis Independent has beautiful, modern facilities that are really well kept. It's a great value for the money, provided your parent is actually independent. One of the biggest issues they skirt around during the initial tour is the fact that it's near impossible to get cell phone reception due to how the building is constructed. Your anxiety level skyrocket when you can't text or call them. They offer a wired phone option for an additional $10. I STRONGLY recommend checking your cell reception when you tour the facility. We received zero reception across 3 different phones with 3 different carriers. Staffing was a constant issue while my mother lived here. Certainly part of that was attributable to COVID shortages in the healthcare industry, but I witnessed with my own eyes lines of 10-15 residents waiting for food, a cup of water, or utensils to eat their dinner with. The final issue is the phantom concierge services which are advertised, but essentially unusable. Lake Travis Independent advertises transport to and from medical appointments, but it's only on certain days (Tues & Thurs), only between certain times, and they'll only take residents to certain types of appointments. Multiple tenured residents have standing appointments every week, which means any new residents are basically on their own. If an issue crops up that isn't life threatening, but is more urgent than a basic check up, you won't get any assistance from this place. I do want to shout out a few employees: Custodian Carlos went out of his way multiple times to help both my mother and I, with supplies, advice, and service that were above and beyond. Likewise, Claudette at the front desk was endlessly compassionate and friendly, and was constantly reaching out with updates on my mother's status. Unfortunately there was a different front desk employee that was an absolute nightmare. I've never met a woman that loves snitching at much as this lady. It was very clear she hated her job and hated the residents as well. Just one bad apple in the bunch, but it colors your experience for the worse.

Meals are delicious & staff seemed organized when feeding & giving meds to residents in dining room. First full day at Auberge I visited my husband. I located him in the activities room, in his wheelchair w/his head hanging low. He was unresponsive. A staff member approached me & advised he had been in this state for a long time. Nurse was called & he was rushed to the hospital for a 2-day stay. My Husband was given wrong medication which had been discontinued. Auberge advised this was not their fault but the pharmacy's fault. My husband was sent back to Auberge and perished several days later. Heartbroken! I paid over $7000 for the first month. Upon my husband's death, I was advised there will be a refund of some kind. Apparently the Contract I signed states an Additional 2-weeks will be charged when resident dies. My refund will be less than $2000 which means I'm paying over $4000 for a 1-week stay minus the 2 days in hospital. I understand mandatory two weeks charge upon death if resident had a lengthy stay, BUT my husband was there for 7 days (minus the days in hospital cause by, in my opinion, improperly medicating)! Unhappy!! Experience from Friday, 8/30/24 through Friday, 09/06/24.

The best aspect of The Auberge is hands down the staff. Between the Administrative staff and the care givers I know my mom is well cared for and looked after. They are patient, attentive and provide stimulation for all of the residents throughout the day. Her room is always very clean and her hygiene is of upmost importance. Before moving my mom to The Auberge at Bee Cave, she was living in a different Assisted Living community. I struggled with clear communication and follow up because my mom is nonverbal. The staff at The Auberge Bee Cave is very sensitive to this condition. They all are very communicative and anytime there is a question or an incident they call me immediately. It is such a relief knowing that my mom is safe and in a caring community that truly looks after her needs.

They sound all sweet when you talk to them, but when it comes down to making any decisions about your loved one's care, they are downright ice cold. The staff has a very high turnover rate (from the dining folks to the accoutants to the caregivers), and the Exec Dir has no power. "Corporate" make the tough decisions and they lack all ethics--only care about profit and reducing their risk as a company to zero. And if your loved one ever suffers an injury that is typical for the eldery population, they will make all sort of random excuses and kick them out immediately. Trust us, it happened to us and others. It is a sad state of affairs there. Don't let the nice physical looks of the common areas and charming sales person and Exec Dir fool you. It is not what it seems. Save yourself the trouble and don't find out after it's too late.

After she broke his tailbone by putting her knee in his back to push him into bed, he was hospitalized and then went to a couple of rehab centers and finally moved to an assisted living facility where the workers loviningly cared for him. Unfortunately he spent those last 6 months of his life in severe pain thanks to the poor care at Longleaf. Those in charge lied to us trying to cover up what happened. Please think twice before you place your loved one in their care.

I would give them a half star if I could. I was admitted…read moreto the "Skilled Nursing" portion of this facility. There was a delay in my getting there so arrived around supper time in May 2024. They brought me to a small room with a bed that had no rails and very little support. The feel was like a hammock, not good for someone right out of the hospital. I was on a restrictive diet yet the first night I was there I was given steak cut up and some sort of sweet potato. I ate it, I was so hungry. A day went by and the next morning I was told they were calling an ambulance to take me back to the emergency room. I had blockage in the intestines. (This was reason for my emergency surgery in the first place!) My biggest complaint was my medications were supposed to be sent to them when I left the hospital. When I inquired, they didn't have them. I had my last pain pill at 2:00 that afternoon. It was now 9:00 p.m., I was told I would have to wait until the pharmacy opened the next morning. I had an incision down the middle of my abdomen and nothing for pain. Horrible and incompetent!! I was finally given medication for the pain 9:30 that morning. I couldn't sleep the pain was so intense. Around 3:00 am I called for the nurse, I was in tears and covered with sweat, my hospital gown and sheets were soaked, and I was chilly. The person who finally came told me they had no other clothes for me to wear. No offer to change the sheets, she got another blanket and threw it over me. The fastest response time was 20 minutes, I know because I watched the clock. I felt frightened and trapped when that door closed, no one came and checked on me on a regular basis. When I was readmitted to the hospital, I felt such relief! I would be taken care of and no longer felt afraid. Be very careful where you send your loved ones. Especially if they are in a weak condition. Sincerely, Beth Pisz
