Ok .. my first experience here watching a NBA match . As a first timer, it was good.. the match was between Nets and Dallas Mavericks . My son loves NBA and was super excited . Parking was a few blocks away . Except the match tickets everything was super damn expensive... parking was about $66 .. yes you heard it right!!! Very very expensive .. Getting to this venue is also very difficult if you come from New Jersey.. traffic is crazy and it takes a long time.. unfortunately we will not be able to take a train to this venue.. food is also super expensive.. a bottle of coke is about 8-9$ ! Try to eat outside before coming to the match . Seating up high in the second floor.. this was the only stand which had tickets for less than 45$ .. We didn't want to spend too much on the tickets... the view was good though. Very clear views .. kids enjoyed the game too . Good experience overall from a game perspective .. but everything else release super expensive and not comfortable .. 3 stars . read more

I remember the Nets best for their back-to-back appearances in the NBA Finals in 2002, against the Los Angeles Lakers, and 2003, against the San Antonio Spurs (my favorite team). Back then, they were the New Jersey Nets (1977-2012). Their stars were Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Kerry Kittles, and Keith Van Horn. Martin, Kittles, and Van Horn all started their careers with the Nets. Martin and Kittles were drafted by the Nets in 2000 (1st overall pick) and 1996 (8th overall pick), respectively, and Van Horn (1997 2nd overall pick) was acquired by the Nets in a draft-day trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. Kidd, who's now head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, is one of the sport's all-time great point guards. He ranks 6th in NBA triple-doubles, behind Russell Westbrook (1st), Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Nikola Jokic, and LeBron James. Kidd was the cover athlete of one of my favorite basketball video games, EA Sports NBA Live 2003. Unfortunately, the Nets got swept by the Lakers in the 2002 Finals and lost, 4-2, to the Spurs in the 2003 Finals. I was really rooting for the Nets to beat the Lakers in '02, but that Shaq-Kobe threepeat team was too good for even the best Spurs, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers teams at the time (great teams). Former Nets, like Kidd (2011 Mavs) and Richard Jefferson (2016 Cleveland Cavaliers), ended up winning NBA championships with other teams. Since starting out in the ABA as the New Jersey Americans (1967-68) and New York Nets (1968-76), and merging into the NBA starting with the 1976-77 season, the Nets have bounced around New York and New Jersey. The Nets teams I grew up watching played in Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The team moved from Newark to Brooklyn in 2012. The Nets' court at Barclays Center is distinct because of its gray color. It was unveiled ahead of the 2019-20 season and stands out visually. Per the Nets/NBA: "The colors of the floor, weathered wood and concrete gray, represent the numerous playground courts found throughout the borough; the brownstone-lined streets and Brooklyn's industrial foundation." Also, "[t]he baselines proudly display 'Brooklyn Nets' in typeface inspired by subway signage, with a subway tile pattern running across the apron perimeter." https://www.nba.com/nets/news/2019/09/23/brooklyn-nets-unveil-new-court Since moving to Brooklyn, the Nets have been a near-perennial NBA playoff contender. However, they've only advanced past the first round two times since 2012 (2014, 2021) and have yet to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The 2020-21 team has been the most successful of the Brooklyn Nets teams so far. That team lost 4-3 in the Conference Semis to the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks, who had Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Nets were stacked during the '21 playoffs with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, along with complementary pieces like Joe Harris, Blake Griffin, and Jeff Green. They were coached by Steve Nash, another point guard great and Jason Kidd's contemporary. Nash was only in his first year as an NBA head coach. Disappointingly, the star-studded Durant-Irving-Harden era ended with no title. Harden asked to be traded and was, in February 2022, to the 76ers. Early in the 2022-23 season, Nash was fired and Jacque Vaughn became head coach. In February 2023, Irving asked to be traded and was, to the Mavericks. Durant then asked to be traded and was, to the Phoenix Suns. At the time of writing this, Ben Simmons is the Nets' highest-paid player at $37.9 million this season (2023-24), followed by Cameron Johnson ($25.7 million), and Mikal Bridges ($21.7 million). Simmons, who was the 1st overall pick in 2016 and a 3-time NBA All-Star (2019, 2020, 2021), has been a letdown since joining the Nets in 2022 as part of the Harden trade. Simmons has had a lot of back issues. The Brooklyn Nets haven't had an All-Star selection since Durant in 2022. Durant, Irving, and Harden were all selected in 2021. read more

Brooklyn Nets are not doing well at all. Last time I watched the sports news Bruce Beck said they lost Five of their last Six Games. I'm not a big fan of basketball and only attended one basketball game since I've lived in Manhattan. It was the New York Liberty! I do feel sorry for my friends that are die hard fans. They get dressed up and go to the game. When I ask this week I was told "they played a good game." Whatever blows up your skirt. Free tickets are never free especially to the New York, New Jersey, Brooklyn Nets, a barely professional basketball team who ply their trade in the modern monstrosity known as the Barclays Center deep in the heart of Crooklyn. The game is a meaningless play out the string season ender that has more in common with bad old days of the American Basketball Association -- but at least in the clown car heyday of the long defunct ABA, there was always the virtuoso magnificence of Doctor J (Julius Erving) to keep the faithful coming. Now, Barclays is half filled with hand me down ticket recipients (and players) who are frankly bored by the game and seem much more interested in shopping at the limitless fan stores and drowning their sorrows in the numerous upscale eateries that now de rigueur at the modern taxpayer funded arena slash... corporate entertainment venue. I was invited to a sampling event of the food options at the arena and a look at the new space called the Gallaugher terrace. I RSVP'd weeks before the event and didn't get a response. I RSVP'd multiples to be on the safe side and sent emails asking for confirmation and still no response. I went to the Barclays Center with my family and was told that they were full. I DID NOT see a crowd however. They could have sent me an email stating that they are full and not accepting anymore RSVP's they definitely find ways to contact me when they are trying to sell me season ticket packages. i finally went to a brooklyn nets game at the barclays center via free courtside tickets and do to the team being gutted of its superstars , tixs will be cheap and easy to get . first they were the ny nets playing in long island , then the nj nets playing in jersey and now the brooklyn nets playing in brooklyn , whats next ?. the plus is the place is nice and viewing is good from any section , the game was exciting with the nets winning in overtime and parking is steps from the entrance .i still remember going to a nets game when i was a young brat when they played in long island and the fans cheering for doctor j with every dunk. overall even though i am not a giant basketball or nets fan , its still better then dealing with the knicks fans at the garden . read more

The Brooklyn Nets are really bad right now, so bad you can probably get day of the game tickets on Stub hub for $7 or 8 bucks. Sad situation indeed but it is a reality. The team owns the worst record in the league right now. I mean the Knicks are not doing much better but the future looks better. The New Jersey Nets went to two NBA finals under Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin playing amazing basketball. This Brooklyn experiment is great for the city with initially alot of excitement in NYC, now there are two official new york teams no matter what. Kenny Atkinson the current Nets coach seems like a nice guy but is in way over his head , the team is garbage. Jeremy Lin is one of top free agent signings but has not played a significant role because he has just been hurting alot. Brook Lopez is only player with a great amount of value but he is also 1 or two more foot injuries away from being useless. I think former GM Billy King is one of the stupidest people on the planet. The Celtics completely took advantage in that trade, three first round picks in the deal and a right to swop for 2017 (hello) and they took some of Nets junky players but wow three first round picks. The Garnett and Pierce experience only had one Brooklyn season and it was mildly successful. I think with a record like 9 wins and 44 losses or so you would think the end of season brings excitement with a lottery top 3 pick hopefully but nope that goes straight to Boston Celtics. I tell you i have been to a few Brooklyn Nets games this season but I was cheering for the other team like December 5th against Washington Wizards, The nets were up by 28 in 4th quarter, but didn't you know they would blow that lead. It was crazy like a video game, three point barrage. I am just gonna say Brook Lopez can be traded for a future first round pick and maybe Jimmy Butler can be acquired for a true rebuild of this team. Where the heck do I start. Having never been to a basketball game IN MY LIFE, I naturally had v high expectations. Man, this was the most boring experience of my life. And ofcourse Kyrie decided that his knee injury healing process was more important then my entertainment. I paid GOOD money for those tickets, yo. The least y'all could've done was respect my parlay. Yes, I bet against you. Also, what's the deal with playing bangers for only like 10 seconds before stopping for a dance off. Every time I started bobbing my head, y'all stopped the music. And why do you have SO MANY DANCE OFFS. I just feel like a game that should take like a solid hour, hour and a half tops took waaay longer and sucked the life out of me. Last note, felt like I was watching a high school basketball game and the fact that no highlights ended up on ANY IG page just reflects how terrible this game was (Bleacherreport, houseofhighlights, etc etc). Let's not mince words: this team is bad. What do you get when you trade all your draft picks for years to get an aging Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett? You get this joke of a team, now at the very bottom of NBA standings with little hope beyond prayers for player developments. (Rondae-VOUS we're counting on YOU!) Barclays Center is a gorgeous venue, one of the best in the NBA with its dark mood lighting, but the product on the floor is anything but. Why two stars? With the exit of Billy King, Sean Marks of the Spurs looks like he'll bring a much needed dose of culture and competence, but it'll take time. Ditto, too, for presence of Kenny Atkinson and his firm record in young player development. I'd trade BROLO now for picks. read more

Well, they're a lot better than the Knicks. The Nets are currently in 2nd place behind Toronto in the Eastern Conference Atlantic division while the Knicks remain dead last. I attended one game against the visiting Spurs and had a great experience watching the game live at Barclays Center for the first time as the game went into overtime. There are a few things I do and don't like about this current team. Lets start with the biggest and most obvious one. Deron Williams. This guy's ankles are made of glass and is frequently injured. He has a receding hairline with a weird front combover. Is he skillful and talented? No question about it. I just dislike his ambition for the game. I still blame him for driving one of the greatest coaches of all time Jerry Sloan out of Utah. During his time with the Nets, he's already had 3-4 head coaches. What does that say about your star point guard? The signing of Andrei Kirilenko was also a dumb move in my opinion. He hasn't been a stat stuffer since his days in Utah. Where is he now? Traded to the Sixers and he refuses to play for that team. He should be very fortunate to still be given an opportunity to play for a NBA team even at this stage in his career regardless of how bad the 76ers are. For him to not report to the Sixers, it speaks volumes of how big of a dick he is in real life. College and overseas players would do anything to be on a NBA team roster while this guy refuses to report to duty. What are the things I do like about the Nets? For one, Mason Plumlee. He's young and athletic. He's a horrible free throw shooter but when given the right amount of play time, he can do some damage in other categories. Even though Kevin Garnett is not playing the way he use to, he remains a vital veteran mentor to players like Plumlee and even to Brook Lopez. Joe Johnson plays hard while Jarrett Jack continues his climb as a starter during Deron Williams absence. It's going to be interesting season for them. They might not be a huge threat to any team but I wouldn't count them out that quickly in the Eastern Conference playoffs bracket if they end up making it. read more

Great team. I love the Nets. Ever since Jeremy Lin signed with Brooklyn in summer 2016, I've been cheering for joy. I have a Lin t-shirt from NBA store The Nets rock! I will see the Nets play the Blazers at barclays center, Brooklyn Nets' home and I'm very excited to see my first NBA game. GO NETS!! I was shocked about the Nets in the 2015-16 season when they finished the season 21-61 and a no playoff spot. Tough luck. read more
