The subs and temps are on their phones alot and even resorted just putting on cartoons on the school iPad to distract the kids at one point. So its not a good learning environment. My child has personally gotten hurt here multiple times and mistreated by other students. The last time he got hurt was because a piece of concrete was protruding out of the ground in the play ground outside. He cut his head and had to get checked out by a doctor immediately. They thankfully administered first aid immediately. Another student also put his stuffed animal in the toilet and other students bite him on more than one occasion. There also appears to be a lack of transparency about all of this. So I would not recommend sending your child here until they clean up their act.

*Our Overall Experience*…read more Though Tutor Time was not our first option, it ultimately became a good option for our son. Like any childcare center, it had its ups and downs during our time there. I'd like to walk through some of the experiences as neutrally as possible and hope others will find this review helpful. *Leadership You Can Feel Good About* Stacey Baker is a great and committed director. She truly cares about the children, the programs, and the families. I appreciated how personable and understanding she is, while still maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality care. She does the best she can with the resources available to her and often steps in where needed. *Teachers Make the Difference* One of the strengths of Tutor Time is its few truly great teachers. When my son first started, he struggled with his initial teacher. At first, I assumed this was simply due to adjusting to a new environment, but we noticed that his behavioral challenges were specific to that classroom and did not occur with other teachers. Once he was moved to a different class, his experience and behavior improved dramatically--it was truly night and day. I hope Tutor Time considers having more teachers trained or mentored by their strongest educators. *How Our Child Was Supported and Engaged* For the most part, our son had a great time. I especially appreciated how his teachers embraced his love of drums and music, incorporating it into activities rather than labeling him as disruptive. He was able to develop new skills and broaden his food palate--it was wonderful seeing him enjoy foods beyond cereal. *Staffing Consistency (or Lack Thereof)* One consistent challenge during our time there was low staffing and high staff turnover. This sometimes caused confusion and disrupted teacher assignments and daily activities. As mentioned earlier, Stacey did her best under the circumstances, often filling in herself when needed. *Peer Behavior and Classroom Dynamics* Another concern we experienced involved our son picking up disruptive behaviors from older children. This was difficult to undo/ "correct" at home, as his behavior became more aggressive for a period of time. Eventually, the center addressed this by separating age groups more effectively, which we appreciated. *Billing, Payments, and Communication* We also encountered challenges with the payment system. The app and payment platforms are not well integrated, as they operate through separate systems. We experienced multiple issues with autopay and found it difficult to track an accurate balance. At one point, we were sent to collections for a payment we believed had already been made. Our statements did not clearly reflect a missed payment, and despite the issue allegedly occurring in March, we continued to make payments through June without any indication of a problem or interruption in services, which conflicted with stated policy. *Would We Choose Tutor Time Again?* Overall, every place has its ups and downs, many of which are situational. Despite the challenges we experienced, our son enjoyed the better moments there, and so did we. Tutor Time has strong potential, and I hope they receive the necessary resources to fully realize it. If you are reading this review you may be wondering (just like we were) about the best place for your child to begin their education. What do you look for? Will your child feel comfortable and welcome ? What can you expect from a Montessori education? This school had everything we were looking for and more. They offer morning and afternoon sessions and they offer both 3-day and 5-day programs. The class sizes are small and social and you likely won't find more caring and passionate educators than Miss Nora and Miss Susan. Plus, the tuition is affordable and some assistance is available. We are almost done with our son's first year and we are planning to enroll him for a second year in the fall. Our daughter will be going there, too - no doubt in my mind. You should know that this is a small school with a close-knit connection between children, teachers and parents and they ask for parents to play an active role in the school if you can spare the time. This isn't the "drop your kid off in the parking lot" kind of place and we love how our son has blossomed in the quiet and challenging environment under the Montessori philosophy practiced at Kinderhaus Montessori. It was a really bad first daycare experience. They were not child-focused, family-compassionate,…read morecommunity-oriented or organized. They treated our family with very little regard. For a center that advertises working with each child based on their unique needs and welcoming communication with parents... They fell way short. Red flags started during the paperwork process: contracts stated different things than what they told us. This included a much higher daycare price and a large yearly fee they never told us about. No explanation was given for major inconsistencies. Our toddler had a hard time transitioning into this daycare, struggled more than other kids. Her demeanor changed drastically within days, and it concerned us. On day two, they shared that their strategies did not work on her. They had no other plans to support her. They asked us to pick her up hours early daily due to her crying. We agreed to do so. We never got access to teachers so we cannot speak about the teachers. Only access to the daycare head. We had to repeatedly, kindly ask for school info they sent other parents and didn't send us. We tried to ease our toddler's transition from home, wanted to help her understand what was happening and who her teachers are but couldn't because we didn't have basic info, not even teacher names. They eventually sent us some (not all) of the info, but seemed inconvenienced. We worked with what we had. They did not seem interested in learning much about our kiddo or taking a unique child-centered approach. They did a cry it out method, leaving her to stand alone at the door for hours by herself. Our child became somber and looked defeated. It broke our hearts. Getting dressed in the morning resulted in panic and crying. She became terrified of leaving the house, even to play. This was not normal. On Friday morning, I informed the school we would be a little late because she was having another tough morning. They did not care and would not take her after the 9:00am exact cut off. I found this to be unreasonable when they knew she was struggling and asked us to accommodate them picking up hours early daily. But they wouldn't accommodate even being minutes late. Corporate rules came before child needs. I messaged them that I was losing trust in their willingness to work with us to help my struggling child. The lead of the center called and claimed I called her and her staff "not human". The texts show that never happened. It was about having a human-centered, child-centered approach to my child, but she made it about herself. The conversation was not child-focused at all. She spoke down to us: accused me of expecting her to tend to me all day every day. Accused our family of expecting special treatment. Said she didn't have time for basic admin tasks even though that's her job. Gaslighted me: said she sent teacher names in the welcome packet. Acted like I was overly demanding for wanting info. We checked our emails, we never got a welcome packet. We were just a family new to daycare with a struggling child, wanting to know who her teachers were and other basic info, wanting to support our kiddo. It wasn't an unreasonable ask. It was info they already sent other parents but resisted sending us. She painted us as a demanding, difficult family instead. Our child did nothing wrong but the daycare lead suggested that we withdraw her. We took her up on this offer.  Our parent friends were shocked hearing our experience, never saw this in their daycares. A child social worker expert & friend said my child's reaction was concerning and should have been taken more seriously by the daycare. Don't know if they are understaffed or mismanaged. Don't know if she treats other families this way or if she just had something against us. She didn't even know us. We left after the first week. Though they did not care how this affected our child, we do. She has trauma-like symptoms now. We are undoing the harm with intention and care, she is slowly thriving again. We wish we paid attention to the red flags in the beginning. Stay away from here if you want a child-centered, family-friendly, compassionate, culturally-competent, noncorporate experience.
