I brought in 3 white shirts for cleaning and they all came back with stains. The said they couldn't get them out. They offered to redo only 1 of the 3 shirts. On return, it still came back stained. I think it was coffee. I was curious, so I took it home and was able to shift it with some Laundress stain remover and oxy clean. At $9 a pop, I think I could have saved a bit, but at least now I don't have to throw it out! read more

I was disappointed with the results of their dry cleaning. My suit shrunk a bit. I validated this by comparing it to an identical suit which fit correctly. I will not be bringing my suits here anymore. They do have decent alterations, and they fixed rips in my running pants well. read more

A tailor who is unqualified and does a shabby job and then charges ridiculous prices and a management that is not interested in being a part of this community and treating long term customers in a polite and courteous manner. I want to like Brooklyn Valet because there aren't other great cleaners or tailors in the neighborhood--I've been going to them for years. But they've messed up my items twice now. The first time was some time back when they ruined a dress I was getting tailored by cutting the bottom uneven and too short. The second and most recent time was when I took one of my favorite wool sweaters to get dry cleaned. Not only did they not remove the 2 light stains, they made it a lot worse. And when I went to pick up the sweater, they tried to pass it off to me like the stains weren't there. read more

The zipper pull on my favorite running shorts fell off, so I first took it to an alterations place close to my apartment, who said that it could not be fixed and they would have to take the shorts apart. Then, I took it to Brooklyn Valet who effortlessly fixed the zipper situation by reattaching the pull and adding a new zipper stop! PLUS the customer service is out of this world! I've taken everything here from dry cleaning, to leather cleaning, and most recently, had a zipper replaced on my long, Michael Kors down jacket. After several positive experiences, I'm sorry to say that this one was pretty poor. I will start by saying that they did a great job replacing the zipper. What bothered me was the service...and the stealing...more on that later. When I dropped the coat off on a Saturday, they said the tailor was at lunch, and that he would call me with a quote on the jacket later that day; no call. I had to call the next day, at which point they still couldn't give me a quote, and said they'd call me back again. They did call back within a few hours, and told me the coat would be ready on Thursday. I went to pick it up the following Friday morning. They said it wasn't ready, and that they would call me Saturday. (All these promised calls!) Needless to say, they never did call. So I finally went over Saturday afternoon to check myself, and the coat was in fact, finally ready. (So ok, some poor communication, but good work on the coat itself.) BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: I totally forgot I had left 5 $1 bills in the pocket of the coat when I dropped it off. They weren't dry cleaning it, mind you, just fixing the zipper. When I took it out of the plastic and reached into the pocket, the bills were gone. I could forgive everything else; I get it, they're busy. But a business STEALING literally right out of my pocket? Leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if I'll be giving them my business anymore. read more

Wow, I can't believe there's only 1 review for this place. They rock. They remember you. And they do an awesome job. If you drop off in the a.m., you can get your clothes back the same day. And they do "green" dry cleaning. So, your clothes last longer and don't fade as much, in my opinion (and it's better for the environment). Today when I went in to pick up my stuff, there was a guy in there with his young son that came by just to say hi, and that he missed Brooklyn Valet ever since he moved to Soho. Seriously? Who comes by to see their old dry cleaner unless they have been absolutely fabulous? I have also taken my clothes to the place a couple of doors down, and while the quality is the same, it's probably 4x more expensive. Brooklyn Valet is the obvious choice. The bar is set pretty low in this neighborhood for decent laundry services, but after more than a year of use I'm confident these guys are the best option. I use to be a 5 min walk but I've recently moved to downtown BK and am still using them, I'd rather make the hike than gamble with anyone new! read more

A bit more expensive then the guys who send it out, but worth it. Always clean and professional. I started going to them after they fixed a broken seam in my pants suit. It looked as if there had never been a problem after they fixed it. They also did some hemming on my pants - some with cuffs or lining - they did them all perfectly. After a negative experience* at Green Apple Cleaners a few doors down, I switched to Brooklyn Valet. I wish I had been going to Brooklyn Valet all along. Let's see, Brooklyn Valet is cheaper (considerably so in my mind). For example, using my most recent bills, Brooklyn Valet $3.90 cheaper than Green Apple by $3.90 for a suit, $1.50 for a skirt, and $1.60 for a jacket. I also prefer Brooklyn Valet's hours because they're open at 7am on the weekdays. Because they have same day service (Green Apple does not), I can drop my dry cleaning off before work and pick it up when I get home. They are not open on Sundays, hence the four stars. * The employees have always been friendly, but the actual dry cleaning was unacceptable considering the price. One lapel of my suit jacket was correctly pressed, the other was sticking straight out. I asked to have a refund because to fix it they have to send it all the way to Jersey and the truck doesn't come on the weekends (well, "sometimes" it comes on Saturdays). I only have enough suits to make it one week (translation: I needed the suit done right the first time), but I agreed to let them fix it as that was my only option. They never told me when it would be done, but, based on past experiences, I'm assuming Wednesday (I brought it in on Sunday). Maybe you view my experience as a one-off event, but I provide it here as a data point for someone trying to decide between the two cleaners. read more

Beware. Brooklyn Valet on 7th between Union & Berkeley ruined a Tory Burch Sweater and won't claim responsibility. I asked for the sweater to be replaced. The owner, Mr. Im said I could take him to court to get a new sweater. This was all after giving Brooklyn Valet time to try to fix the buttons and a week's worth of correspondence with Tory Burch to get replacement buttons (of course not my responsibility but trying to make it fair and cost effective), which they were unable to provide. This situation makes me sad since we've been loyal customers for 10 years. Needless to say we will be going some where new from now on. read more

I wish I could say good things but they completely mishandled a botched tailoring job. In taking up two straps of a dress, the seams became completely misaligned and the dress unwearable. When I returned, asking for the tailoring charge back as well as a small sum to cover a fix by a better tailor, they said no, insisting that they are not marketing themselves as high end tailors and shouldn't have known the rest of the dress was going to be affected. Just a silly way to handle the situation. Cannot speak for the dry cleaning, but beware the tailoring at all costs. read more

Do not send your garments for alteration here. I've sent an expensive blazer for sleeves shortening. And I couldn't believe how sloppy the work was when I got it back. The tailor redid it again and it was as poor as the first one. He kept repeating"I think it's ok. It's inside." That is unacceptable to say for anyone who gets paid by their crafts. Now I have to find another place to redo the work. It's a triple waste of my time. To be fair, people are nice here in general. I've done dry cleaning here and it was ok. But if your clothes is ruined and they still insist in charging you full, I won't consider the politeness any help. read more

I've dropped off a number of pieces to be dry cleaned, and though you could pay less elsewhere, what you get here is quality and professional service -- really, the best there is around. They're magic workers at getting stains out (even the ones that have set in for a few days), and everything is always returned neatly and in a reasonable turnaround time. Another bad review about tailoring. DO NOT go here. I asked for black cotton pants to be shortened 1" and I asked clerk to specifically write on slip NOT to cut the remainder OFF but to just turn it further under. THey cut the 1" off anyway--Clerk said she couldnt do it that way. Clerk should have called me to get my permission but didnt. Tailor didnt bother to read or ask....I refused to pay...I am a regular cleaning customer & they are OK..but will never do tailoring again for sure. read more

Horrible for alterations, fine for dry cleaning. I had a dress that needed an inch off. Upon return the dress was an inch shorter on one side, and two inches shorter on the other. Total diagonal cut across the front. The dress was $90 from Lulu's and I paid $40 to get it destroyed. Won't be coming here again. read more

The people are fairly friendly and the cleaning itself is perfectly adequate (shirt pressing leaves some unfortunate wrinkles at times but I've never found anyone where that wasn't the case). However, I found them highly unreliable. Pickups and deliveries were often missed. After promising that they could come after 5, they continued to come between 4 and 5 when no one was home. The final straw was after missing a pickup, they delivered everything except the shirts. They said the shirt cleaners "system failed". I asked if the shirts could be delivered the next day and they said, "I'm sorry we don't deliver on that day". I'm trying Carroll Cleaners now. read more

Then they returned a beautiful sweater with a bunch of gaping holes, clearly the result of being snagged by metal hangers.
