I used Brooks Industrial Coating last year for all my boat hardware. I had the aluminum pieces powder coated including brackets and board racks and plastic pieces wet painted to match. The tower speakers I gave Brooks were in pretty bad condition but they fit perfectly on the tower so I didn't want to replace them. I couldn't find the boxes for sale any longer as the boat is 7 years old. The original chrome covered plastic had pretty much chipped away the surface wasn't even. Brooks prepped/smoothed out the surface and wet painted them white. The speakers and other pieces turned out perfect. This year I went back to Brooks for them to wet paint a black carbon mirror and bracket white to match the other components. Again, the parts were delivered perfectly. Stay FAR away from this place. After having a motorcycle tank and fender taken in to hydro dip. I went to pick up after them having the parts almost 6 weeks. As soon as I looked at parts I couldn't believe how bad they looked. I started showing James and telling him there is no way they are usable. He was extremely unprofessional . Said he wasnt going to stand there and have me critique has work. It was very very bad. Nothing was done as discussed when I dropped them off. I was looking at shipping my tins over to them once they finished my buddies - they did "carbon fiber" and it looks like melted plastic. I can't even figure out how they did such a terrible job. If you trust these guys with your stuff you will be sorry - don't say you weren't warned! read more

The week of November 14th, 2016, I took my Porsche Boxster to Brooks Industrial Coatings (http://bic-texas.com/) to have all 4 wheels powder coated black. When I picked up the car, I noticed that the center wheel caps were all loose and did not fit the wheels anymore. Then once I started driving, I did not even get up to 60mph when the entire car started shaking and was not driveable. I called them right away and met them at the service station that remounted and balanced the tires. After looking the car over, we noticed the following: - 2 of the 4 tires were put on backward (the outside of the tire on the inside) - 3 of the 4 tires were not balanced After having them take the backwards tires off and switch them, they scratched up the wheels and said they had to be powder coated again. I drove the car home and then within a week had 2 completely flat tires. When asking James Brooks for a refund, he said he would buy me new center caps and suggested I take the car back there to have them redo the work. Obviously, that did not sound good to me seeing their partner shop and the bad experience there, so I asked for a refund. We agreed to a $250 refund and he said that he would send the center caps and money (via prepaid Visa card) right away. When I followed up on this in January, I was told that it was "in the mail" and that it was sent on 11/28. This was impossible as I did not pick up the car until the 29th! After correcting himself, he said it was sent on December 15th. I never received anything and of course, they did not have a tracking number and they were not sure what happened. They then ordered more caps that were delivered (silver, not black) but no cash card. On February 14th, I was promised the cash card was going out that week. 2 weeks later, it still had not arrived. On March 3rd, I was then told that this refund was not happening at all. My overall experience was not good here for a number of reasons, but the biggest was that for over 3 months, James kept stringing me along promising a refund that he never delivered on. I guess this goes to show how he (and the company) view their customers and what is important to them. I would absolutely not take a car here nor would I recommend this shop to anyone looking to work with an honest company who treats their customers well. read more
