Their range of products is pretty standard for a pharmacy, with medicines, toiletries, makeup and hair accessories predominating. As well as selling various essentials they also have a passport photo booth (these always take me back to my youth when my friends and I would try to pile as many people into a booth as possible to get some 'wacky' posed photos. What fun life was before digital/phone cameras were widespread!) and they process photos from old-school cameras in an hour. Great!

As soon as you enter you can feel the space of the store looming before you - it's pretty big. As such it holds a lot more stock than the average Boots chemist also - hair products, perfumes, make-up, body-care items, luncheon meal deals, perscription counter and more are all readily available and seemingly x10 on the smaller counterpart stores. Given that I've rather specific items of make-up that I like to use I nipped in on the hopes that this Boots would stock them, as the previous one had failed me. Happy days! There was my specific brand of concealer, in my extra fair shade! Thanks to the Boots I no longer need walk around looking like I've not slept in days, even if I feel that way. Awesomes. You know the nicest bit, too? The lady who served me was so friendly and nice, even though she had clearly worked all day with nary a customer in sight. How lovely! A very handy, very uber Boots.

It's quite intimidating, if I'm honest, as it feels as though you've almost to prove you are worthy of entering before getting into the shop. Or at least, it feels like you should go in with the dedication of spending, so as not to waste their time! Unless that's just me being a little paranoid, walking into a high end shop where I could rarely afford to make a spend makes me a tad nervous it seems! Anyways. I went in and had a very brief look around. I knew in an instant that not only would these delicious shoes hurt my feet, but hurt my wallet too. Everything about this footwear screams high end, from the uber heels to the fashion rivets and tassles back to the quirky buckles and loud design. Certainly, for a very serious statement and eye opening entrance, this is the place to go with regard to footwear. If you happen to be looking for a cosy pair of pumps I'd jog on, as they say. In my head all I could hear was a stern voice repeating over and over "there's nothing for you here," and so I felt it was time to make my exit. The treatment you get from staff is much different and tailored towards your individual needs, which is always a bonus for this plastic-flashing fashion enthusiast. The range of denim on offer is amazing - when you consider what's on offer in much bigger stores - with exclusive Japanese selvage the pick of the crop.

For the ethical shoppers they also stock Veja trainers which are fair-trade and use organic cotton and wild Amazonian rubber. The shop has a clean, spacious quality feel to it and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, seeming passionate about the products. Prices here are not average high street (ranging from about £70 to nearing £200 for a pair of jeans)but this is not an average high street shop and clothing is generally of superior quality and design, and sometimes rare - several products are sold in few other places worldwide.

And on top of that I am a bit clueless and asked one of the staff (who was very old and I know that's incredibly un-PC but he was) about something and he was incredibly uppity and said 'well of COURSE that brand will be more expensive'. No, not 'of course'. I don't need to be patronised and made to look silly, thanks very much old-timer, you just lost Maplin's two stars. Incidentally, the HDMI cables were a fiver in the B&Q across the way, rather than £19.99 in Maplin, and the Optical cables were just over a tenner in there too. So there.
