I'm not Catholic, but my parents sent me there for the "better education". OLQM, does have some good teacher that I thoroughly enjoyed however, after attending a public high school, I noticed no difference in the difficulty in the curriculum based on the grade. OLQM has a strong base around it's Parish that is respectable... I wasn't the biggest fan of Church every Friday morning, but I got used to it. One of the biggest problems I had with OLQM was the students. (Let the records show that I am in no way, shape, or form making any stereotypes) Many students were wealthy and snobby, kind, but without a doubt very conceded. Also, the uniforms stunk! -In it's totality, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs is a pretty good school, I would advise trying public schools first, it could save you lots of money.

The Catholic education is not for all, but it instills value, respect and integrity into its students from a very young age. You are taught to say your Pledge each morning and yes, you go to school on Friday's as a class, which shows its community values. OLQM does not have the same number of classes as local public schools, but the courses taught are taught well and will give any child a solid background for his or her future. In addition, the parish community is wonderful with solid participation and a plethora of events for families to enjoy. I would recommend OLQM for any parent who wants their child to attend a school that is well rounded with a safe, community-based atmosphere.

My child and I both love it; from the, teachers, upper staff, helping staff, the students, etc... Crescent sets your scholars up for success. The first graders have their own trailer with over 6 classrooms, just for 1st graders. I thought this was great for children to develop social skills and building relationships with other students. Crescent Academy offers extracurricular activities to include girl's scouts, boy scouts, music, soccer, etc. In addition to activities, they also offer academic assistance for students that may be falling below their academic level. I gather from staff's involvement with the programs they offer, they really care. As it relates to the staff building relationships with the parents, I do see an effort being made since the last time I wrote my review. My daughter participated in the girls scout program, she was a daisy. She had so much fun and there were so many events, trips and meetings to keep the girls just as engaged. She will definitely be participating next year as a brownie. Overall, I feel confident in the academic program Crescent Academy offers. We are looking forward to next year.

The teachers are wonderful. The test scores are high. There is no reason that it should be considered as low as it is. It should rank with the other schools around, but because of its history it is not. That was over 20 years ago!
