    Eggplant Parmesan

Grandma's eggplant parm! Actually grandma never made me eggplant parm, or I might not have left for college. Granted the place looks a bit dated, so what. Was all very clean and efficient, and there whole family were there working the food line. I watched as they did everything correct.. nicely toasted fresh bread.. nice juicy slices of eggplant. Heated in the pizza oven then brought to the kitchen for fresh assembly. I would say this was vastly better vs a chain pizza down the block. Highly recommended.

Brother's is old school neighborhood pizzeria that has been at this location on Horace Harding Expy for decades. The pizza oven is older than me, the wood paneling has seen better days and the spinning counter stools have seen a lot of bottoms. The most recent renovation is the new exterior sign because the old one was missing a lot of letters. During Covid, they had put up a curbside shack to expand seating, but eventually, it had to be removed. When you walk in, there are always a bunch of regulars at the counter stools having lunch and talking baseball in the Spring and football in the Fall. The Mets rule here. I still remember the first time I had a slice from Brother's was at a birthday party that my son was invited to over 20 years ago. After seeing the name on the box and tasting the pizza, I made a mental bookmark (B.Y., Before Yelp) to check them out. And the rest is history, though I waited until now to write a review. The pizza is classic New York style Neapolitan, round thin crust and Sicilian thick squares. It's best to order and dine-in for the freshest, hottest tasting pie, but if you must take-out, it's still not bad when you get it home. I hate using one of the delivery services because you don't know how long it takes to get your pizza. We love it with sausage and usually mushrooms, but the mushrooms are not fresh here, coming out of a jar. The heroes here are really good made fresh in the kitchen. The Veal Parmagiana hero is great and I'll have to try some of the others for lunch. Prices are very reasonable, even after post-Covid inflation. Definitely have to try the pasta dinners next time because they make a good sweet red sauce.

    8 Slice Cheese Pizza Pie

I don't consider my self a pizza connoisseur, but i've tried quite a few pizzerias throughout my lifetime being from NY and all..the verdict on this is just "average tasting" pizza in my opinion. It could've used more cheese and it also arrived cold. We added more mozzarella cheese..also had to add garlic, cayenne and black pepper to enjoy it after warming it up. The crust was also too soft, so we had to stick in the toaster oven after the microwave.. We also ordered a side of buffalo wings and they were hard and semi dry..maybe we caught them on an off day Idk.

Lentil soup for the winter. NICE!!!!!

Old school pizza was, is and will ALWAYS be the best. 62 years and still going strong.

Classic Cheese Pizza Slice & peach Snapple

I visited Brother's Pizzeria as I was feeling nostalgic & was visiting nearby. The pizzeria was established by brothers Pete & Joe & we used to get pizza here regularly since I grew up a few blocks away. My dad used to pick up a pie every week & talk to Pete & Joe like they're family. I got a classic slice of cheese pizza & a peach Snapple to wash it down. The pizza was perfect, as I remembered from years ago, thin crust & crispy. The sauce & cheese had perfect flavors. Yum. The Pizzeria is under a new owner of 15 years who told that Pete comes in every Monday for few hours. Unfortunately I'm leaving on Sunday otherwise it would have been great to see him.

    Dry bony super salty wings

First time I tried food here and was greatly disappointed. The buffalo wings tasted like a cup of salt was poured on them. They were so dry, bony ,and anemic like. One of the worst wings I had. Garlic bread did not taste good too. Just tasted like stale old bread with raw chopped garlic on top. The only reason I didn't give one star is because the beef patty tasted great. Really enjoyed the texture of the bread and was cooked well.

Another great pizza pie! Their pizza is so good. Better than any other pizza shops I the neighborhood. Just look at this Brother Special pie.

Half cheese. Half pepperoni to go

Thank you, for always being there, Brother's Pizzeria. I always stop in when I'm visiting my parents, and enjoy the nostalgia of the place that's been serving the best pizza in the area for over 40 years. This visit, I sat on the same stool I always did when I was a child, and ordered my usual slice with extra cheese. And it was just as I remembered - crispy bottom, holding up the weight of the extra cheese, nice & hot out of the oven - perfection. I also ordered a pie and some beef patties to bring back to California for my family - a new generation of kids who love Brother's. May they continue to do so for 40 more years.

What is on Grandmas slice pizza?

Homemade sauce with fresh mozzarella, basil and garlic on a flat square (Sicilian) slice of heaven.

Do they still have a Monday special pie price? If so how much is it?

The service was once again exceptional. The wait staff were attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. One particular server stood out; she appeared to be the tallest of the three women working that night and carried herself with the poise and awareness of a manager (if she happens to not be one). Unfortunately, I never caught her name, but she was incredibly cordial and offered thoughtful recommendations, way above and beyond what was being expected What stood out the most was her attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs. It seemed like next-level thinking in the context of a waitressing/host/restaurant profession. When discussing menu items, she immediately recognized that I preferred no spice and proactively addressed that consideration before I even had to ask. That level of attentiveness is uncommon. Many servers simply record orders as requested, but she demonstrated genuine knowledge of the menu and an ability to think beyond the transaction itself. (This attribute may be expected at some higher end restaurants.) Another example was when I requested that scallions and other greens be omitted from a dish. She immediately pointed out that other vegetables might still be present in the soup (from the base) and wanted to ensure there would be no concerns. While allergies were not my issue, I greatly appreciated the care she took to communicate clearly and avoid assumptions. Throughout the meal, she volunteered additional information about various dishes as a precaution, before we even asked (nor maybe even thought of asking). That level of professionalism and attention to detail elevates the entire dining experience. I know this was such a minor detail to bring up but the reason why I am calling this out is about the "experience", once again. Many of my past reviews were not just about how good food is (or the complaints) - but how representatives of an establishment become the core meaning of "dining". Yes, food is important, but the human element and interactions are also key. (who knows - pretty soon AI robots will be taking our orders, right!) Therefore, recognizing positive, unique and deserving aspects of a restaurant is just as crucial as the food output. Equally impressive was how the staff managed what appeared to be a very busy evening. The restaurant was packed, takeout orders especially the pizza boxes were stacked and in a line formation, waiting for pickup, and delivery guys seemed to be coming and going nonstop. Yet despite the pace, the team never appeared overwhelmed. They balanced table turnover efficiently while continuing to provide thoughtful and attentive service. It is rare to see that combination executed so well. Their efforts certainly did not go unnoticed, and we happily tipped above 18%!! The atmosphere is energetic and fun. With multiple screens playing nonstop K-pop music videos ALL NIGHT long (and I'm not into that genre), yet the restaurant feels lively and vibrant, almost like a weekend bar. Yet somehow it still maintains a family-friendly environment that welcomes diners of all ages. The crowd was diverse, and the restaurant buzzed with activity throughout the night. Now... the food spoke for itself. Nearly every dish we ordered showcased quality ingredients and bold, satisfying flavors. Even the fried items were executed remarkably well. The fries, for example, arrived perfectly cooked - golden but not burnt, crisp, and piping hot, with steam still visibly rising despite the dim evening lighting. Every plate reflected care in preparation and attention to quality. Normally, with the amount of food ordered, I'd always have extras to pack up. Well... not this time. Photos simply do not do this place justice. The combination of outstanding service, vibrant atmosphere, and consistently excellent food is what brought me back for a second visit, and it is exactly why I will return again, and again. Thanks for checking out my review!
