The pizza had a firm under carriage. Thin sauce. And a thick cheesey top layer. The sauce was a miss for me. It was soupy and didnt have much flavor. It works as a binding element to the firm crust and cheesey layer. Great for the traditional NY fold. After the first bite, the sauce just splattered to the plate. Its an average slice. Got a chance to be in NY again and of course hit up Brothers Pizza. Still great. Wife and friend tried slice of grandma pizza. I tried a vite and thought it was ok, a bit more freshness from the sauce and all. But I waited for the simple cheese that always hits. I mentioned the pizza tasted better when we got slice that was reheated last time vs the whole pie. Gentleman confirmed yes reheating the slice makes for crisper crust and tastier pizza. He offered to make the whole pie well done and let it rest few minutes and pop it back in oven to reheat. It def was better than the last whole pie but I still think slice was better lol. Maybe pizza really needs to cool down a lot before reheating. Either way we loved it yet again, and kid brought the 2 slices leftover all the way back to LA, lol. 4.5 There's a reason this place is a staple in the Queens pizza scene--and it's simply because their pizza is damn good. My pictures don't do it justice, mostly because I ask for my pies cooked lightly, so the cheese isn't fully melted in the middle. Still, the bottom of the pie was crispy, and the crust had a nice chew. The sauce had great flavor, and the cheese tied everything together. From the outside, it's nothing special. Honestly, it's easy to miss since it's on Horace Harding, where you're usually driving by pretty fast. And let's be real--the interior isn't anything to write home about either. It's just a good ol' fashioned pizza joint. But you're not coming here for ambience. You're coming here for great pizza, made by people who clearly care about what they're serving--and it shows. If I had one negative, it's that I wish the pies were a bit bigger. I noticed their pizza boxes are 16", compared to the 18" you get at some other places. read more

Grandma's eggplant parm! Actually grandma never made me eggplant parm, or I might not have left for college. Granted the place looks a bit dated, so what. Was all very clean and efficient, and there whole family were there working the food line. I watched as they did everything correct.. nicely toasted fresh bread.. nice juicy slices of eggplant. Heated in the pizza oven then brought to the kitchen for fresh assembly. I would say this was vastly better vs a chain pizza down the block. Highly recommended. read more

Brother's is old school neighborhood pizzeria that has been at this location on Horace Harding Expy for decades. The pizza oven is older than me, the wood paneling has seen better days and the spinning counter stools have seen a lot of bottoms. The most recent renovation is the new exterior sign because the old one was missing a lot of letters. During Covid, they had put up a curbside shack to expand seating, but eventually, it had to be removed. When you walk in, there are always a bunch of regulars at the counter stools having lunch and talking baseball in the Spring and football in the Fall. The Mets rule here. I still remember the first time I had a slice from Brother's was at a birthday party that my son was invited to over 20 years ago. After seeing the name on the box and tasting the pizza, I made a mental bookmark (B.Y., Before Yelp) to check them out. And the rest is history, though I waited until now to write a review. The pizza is classic New York style Neapolitan, round thin crust and Sicilian thick squares. It's best to order and dine-in for the freshest, hottest tasting pie, but if you must take-out, it's still not bad when you get it home. I hate using one of the delivery services because you don't know how long it takes to get your pizza. We love it with sausage and usually mushrooms, but the mushrooms are not fresh here, coming out of a jar. The heroes here are really good made fresh in the kitchen. The Veal Parmagiana hero is great and I'll have to try some of the others for lunch. Prices are very reasonable, even after post-Covid inflation. Definitely have to try the pasta dinners next time because they make a good sweet red sauce. read more

I don't consider my self a pizza connoisseur, but i've tried quite a few pizzerias throughout my lifetime being from NY and all..the verdict on this is just "average tasting" pizza in my opinion. It could've used more cheese and it also arrived cold. We added more mozzarella cheese..also had to add garlic, cayenne and black pepper to enjoy it after warming it up. The crust was also too soft, so we had to stick in the toaster oven after the microwave.. We stopped at Brother's Pizza in Flushing on our way out of the city and were so glad we did. It's a no-frills spot with just plain and grandma pies ready (but you can add your own toppings, which keeps everything fresh). My dad and I both went for the plain slice, and it was genuinely great--crisp crust, balanced sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. The owner took time to joke around with us and ended up chatting through most of our meal. You can tell this place is run with heart. The pizzeria was established by brothers Pete & Joe & we used to get pizza here regularly since I grew up a few blocks away. My dad used to pick up a pie every week & talk to Pete & Joe like they're family. I got a classic slice of cheese pizza & a peach Snapple to wash it down. First time I tried food here and was greatly disappointed. The buffalo wings tasted like a cup of salt was poured on them. They were so dry,bony ,and anemic like. One of the worst wings I had. Garlic bread did not taste good too. Just tasted like stale old bread with raw chopped garlic on top. The only reason I didn't give one star is because the beef patty tasted great. Over my many years as a New Yorker, I've been told that many different restaurants have be best pizza; and yes while they've been good, they're never the one pizzeria that I go back to time after time. Brother's Pizzeria has been the only pizza that I crave consistently and the one I go back to after a long trip. Brother's Pizzeria is your typical neighborhood pizza joint that serves up one of the best slices that I've ever eaten. Their slices have a perfect bottom crust, able to stand up on it's own and not flopping over. I think I've had every type of toppings that Brothers serves, I even had my first anchovy slice here but by far my favorite go to topping is their fresh garlic slice. Adding fresh garlic on top of a slice gives it a nice bite that far outclasses the dried stuff. If available, I'd also recommend their grandma slice, a thin crust slice with lots of cheese, a bit of sauce and some pesto on top. They don't always have it but I always ask to see if they got it. In my opinion the defining quality of a New York slice is the crispy thin bottom crust and Brother's has never ever disappointed. During Covid times, they have set up an outdoor dining area in front and mandate masks to be worn at all times. I can't wait til we can all go back to the times when we can sit at the bar and order up slices one by one. Also I'd like to mention that if you're ordering delivery or calling through the Yelp app. Please call them directly. For some reason, calling through Yelp forces the call to go to grub hub and grub hub takes a massive cut of their deliveries. So please call Brother's Pizzeria directly at (718) 445-7888 or better yet, save them into your phone like I do. read more
