This kind of experience is what the Original Dampa market offers for those who want to enjoy good food without hurting their pockets too much. The original dampa market is a compound with different stalls/restaurants offering basically the same kind of food for customers. It's a place where you can make "paluto" whatever you just bought at the conjoining wet market. You have an option to buy from the wet market whatever you wish to eat (which can get your a lower cost) or ask the staff from the restaurant to buy (but of course this will have a slight markup on the cost). I suggest you go for option A at least once just for the experience of getting to haggle with the vendors to give you a lower price. One place I have tried is called Jagz, which is the 3rd restaurant to your right as soon as you enter the compound. We bought from the wet market ourselves the following: Pork Liempo, Shrimps and Mussels and had it cooked right away in the restaurant. While waiting for the food to be cooked, cracker nuts were offered to us as appetizers. We opted for the Pork Liempo to be grilled, our shrimp to be tossed in garlic and butter (my ultimate fave!) and the mussels baked in garlic, butter and cheese. The buttered shrimp was super good, especially if you got big shrimps from the market. It had just the right amount of flavour! I got to eat about half of this! Hahaha. The baked mussels were also good as a generous amount of cheese was placed on top! Having baked mussels in the Metro can be a challenge since not a lot of restos offer these. The grilled pork liempo was perfectly grilled as well! I definitely enjoyed my trip here! For drinks, they have sodas in can, juice in can and bottle and for the big families, they also have 1.5 L bottle of sodas. The place is airconditioned with 2 tv sets, both with cable so you can also watch while eating. Beer is also available and you can also bring in your own hard drinks, although you need to pay a corkage fee. If you want to belt out a couple of songs, a karaoke machine is also available. Parking is also available just in front of the restaurant though during weekends, this might be a problem. Budget is around Php 1,000 - Php 1,500 for 2 (depends on the quantity of the food you will buy in the market) as this will also be the basis on the charge of their "paluto".

Wow, what an interesting place. I really didn't know what to expect with "floating" as a descriptor…read morefor this place, but sure enough, while it's not necessarily entirely floating it appears to be and for the most part is. I was most impressed by the massive fish fountains and being able to climb over everything. In a way it was a very interactive restaurant inclusive of a boat ride if you choose to partake. I could liken it slightly to an amusement park. There are lots of small private huts all about the restaurant, but to get one you might have to reserve in advance. We were walk ins and for our party size was unable to get one... darn, but we still had fun and the live band we sat near was really friendly, even doing some request songs as a welcome back to the Philippines and a happy birthday for the little girl in our group. Before we got to eat, we explored everywhere, everything! Took photos and climbed on ward. Around evening the entertainers begin their show. Between them, a band, and all architecture/statues to look at, you'll be very occupied. I have to admit.. I've eaten on banana leaves before, but something was exciting about having a table spread of leaves and tasty food. They even garnished the mango smoothie with cute flowers. The only thing I think is silly and very out of place in this restaurant is the weird Disney statues that seem forgotten to time. They're kinda covered in moss, and look a bit terrifying. Their bright amusement park colors are an eyesore when beside the woods, jungle, Asian aesthetic. Plus they're covered in moss and look grungy and somewhat post apocalyptic. Just imagine theme parks that are abandoned.. Other than that, it's a really cool place. You'll kinda think you stepped into another world or an interesting party as the entertainers juggle or do stuff along the piers and walk ways before the show.

The location is quite hard to find but easily accessible on the "Waze" gps app. Tucked away on a cliff this restaurant offers seaside dining with cabanas over the water. However the place looks like it needs a good cleaning and looks a little run down. The service is a little bit weird, because of the locations of the cabanas to the kitchen they have you order at the top and bring it down to you. There are servers at the bottom and near the dining area, but they're not so attentive. The food: Lapu-lapu: quite good, a little bland, but that's the way steamed fish is. Same quality as you would find in any typical Chinese restaurant. Ostrich: was quite good, but I didn't have enough of it to write a detailed review. Scallops: ditto on the fish, around average you could find at almost any other middle of the road restaurant. Seafood chowder: this was pretty decent, although quite honestly I would have preferred a bowl of some good clam chowder. Overall, the food was middle of the road, nothing memorable in my personal opinion. The view was nice, so I guess that's why people come here. Al la cuisine! Stay hungry my friends!

It was really hard to say what my favorite dish was because everything was so delicious and incomparable. What we ordered: -Garlic, chili shrimp: Oh my gosh. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!! It was flavored, seasoned just right. It had a sweet little taste to the flavoring and my assumption is that it was due to the butter in the PI. I would HIGHLY recommend getting this! -Tenigue sinigang: I've never had fresh tenegue until visiting the Philippines. Tenigue is delicious - it has a similar taste and texture to tuna. Add Tenigue in sinigang and wow - how delicious!! The thick, flakey texture adds so much depth to the sinigang. -Bulalo: I didn't try this but my brother ate the whole bowl and didn't really share with the rest of the group. *eye rolls* anyway, he must have enjoyed it a lot since he didn't share. The only thing he mentioned was the fact that it didn't have enough of "fat" -Fried Tenigue: Another variation of Tenigue. So good!! I dipped it in Patis and Calamansi. -Fried tilapia: I mean, it's basically fresh, fried tilapia and what else can you ask for? But if you're just gonna order fried seafood, I'd pair it with their veggies or their pinakbet. -Pinakbet: We got our pinakbet without any shrimp since my mom has a shrimp allergy. Without the shrimp, it was amazing!! I loved the mix of veggies. The veggies were cooked really well too - it wasn't too soggy which could happen really easily. I can only assume that the pinakbet bet with shrimp probably taste better. Other tips/hints: -Free, fast WiFi. It was great for travelers like me! -Parking. Easy to find and there was a small fee.

They shouldn't be accepting customer and hour and a half before the close when they know that they will not be refilling their food. Staff is completely clueless that they have horrible service. It's expensive here so there should be no room for error. Oh, I forgot to mention that their seafood less seafood paella was stale. Gave us the runs. This poorly managed scam and health hazard place that claims to be a restaurant is tops the list of the worst places I've been to.
