Overall, they have a slightly crisp exterior with a dense yet velvety interior. My INLY wish is that the exterior were more crispy/firm? It doesn't detract from the taste or quality at all though The madeleine were all moist, soft and light in flavor And my absolute favorite from everything was the yuzu pistachio financier. 4/27/2026 BUTTER MILK CREAM SCONE The butter milk scone was fluffy, light crunchy exterior. Good flavor. The cream was regular whipped cream. I personally did not care for the whipped cream in it, although it was done well. MATCHA CANALÉ Sweet matcha flavor. The exterior was beautifully crispy! However, the interior was on the mushier side. A little too mushy for my liking. RASPBERRY MADELEINE Beautiful buttery, soft, spongy interior with tart raspberries that was surprisingly lovely! It was simple, but delicious! FIG & HONEY SCONE This was dry, dry, dry. Outside layer was crunchy. Inside was dry. A bit of sweetness, light honey flavor with real figs. ESPRESSO HAZELNUT FINANCIER Brown butter sponge with a light coffee flavor with crunchy hazelnuts scattered throughout. Really good! GORGONZOLA & HONEY FINANCIER The gorgonzola flavor with the buttery financier sponge together worked! As a savory financier it was surprisingly delicious! I would get this again! FIG & CREAM CHEESE FINANCIER Real figs and cream cheese! It did not taste like cream cheese at all. No tangyness. It tasted like a light, cow milk's sweet cheese and soft too. Buttery vanilla sponge was delicious with a bit of that savoriness of the cream cheese and figs. CHOCOLATE & SEA SALT FINANCIER This is the same financier I've had at 6XS Studio. But the one I had today did not taste exactly like the one I had at 6XS. It did have that spongy brown butter cake with chocolate ganache. But the chocolate was fruitier. The brown butter was less pronounced too. RASPBERRY FINANCIER W/ DARK CHOCOLATE Really good! Spongy, soft buttery cake that as you bite into it, you can taste the raspberries permeating throughout the cake. Then you get the fruity dark chocolate and the flavors combined lingers in your mouth. This is a classy financier that you can bring to special occasion. It's simple, yet tasty. ESPRESSO CANELÉ Really good, strong espresso flavor. Outer layer is beautifully crunchy. However, the inside was slightly mushy. The small espresso bean on top is dark chocolate. CLASSIC VANILLA CANELÉ Good vanilla bean flavor, wish there was more rum flavor in it. Crispy exterior, interior is a bit mushy and wet. The next day, I ate the other half of the canelé, but the exterior was soft, so I reheated it in the toaster oven and it tasted better than the day before. The exterior was crispy again in the toaster oven. EARL GREY CANELÉ Good flavor, but there's more caramelized sugar flavor than the Earl Grey flavor. The Earl Grey flavor was slightly masked from the outer caramelization. The exterior was beautifully crispy, yet the inside was once again a bit mushy and wet. YUZU CANELÉ W/ YUZU CRÉME This is a new flavor, but wow! I really enjoyed the crunchy outer layer, the soft, bouncy sweet interior, and the citrusy yuzu in the middle. The yuzu créme is light, yet carries a good yuzu flavor. This was delicious! SALTED CHOCOLATE CHIP MADELEINE This is as it sounds. A choc chip madeleine. It was good, but there were other madeleines that were better. EARL GREY MADELEINE Strong Earl Grey flavor with florals coming through. I really enjoyed the Earl Grey flavor, but as I ate it, there was an eggy flavor, which was off-putting. This was the only madeleine that had that eggy flavor. The next day: The madeleines were slightly dry, but still has that soft and spongy bounce. The financiers were exactly the same! Same butteriness and soft in texture. Probably all that butter! We went yesterday in the late afternoon. I agree that this place is known for the Caneles, not cookies. I'm giving an extra star because I came in with my six-year-old and was offered a free chocolate chip cookie that was smaller than the rest of the batch. I tend to like underdone cookies and this one was over baked and had a ratio with more dry ingredients. This was my first Canele and it was amazing. As on Oct 2025, this parking lot is under new managment I believe. Extremely expensive. Before I entered I caught a glimpse of the cost. 15.99 for the first 30 minutes. That's as crazy as DTLA. As you enter, there are cameras by the gates that will automattically scan your liscene plate, no more tickets. I went into the bakery and out as quickly as possible. By the cash regiester, there is a QR code, you will scan it, and this bakery will give you 100% off discount on parking for ONLY 30 MINUTES! With that QR code, you will be asked to input your liscence plate number and it will tell you how long you have left for free validation. The gates will automatically scan your liscnece plate as you head out! The pastries weren't too sweet, just the right amount. Though I would say these pastries are more on the dense side. I thought they were alright, nothing too crazy. But their matcha caneles vs their OG, the matcha one tasted better. Their financiers are good but the ube one had an aftertaste of flower. Located in the heart of ktown on Wilshire I decided to stop by after grabbing coffee to see what kind of pastries/cookies this place offered. Been around for 3 years and it felt like I had just discovered it. Place is small, meant for ordering and leaving. They offer drinks/coffee/pastries/cookies/scones you name it. They have a really wide variety of flavors of each different type of pastries which are really tasty and not too sweet. They are Korean owned so it's not gonna be ultra sweet I haven't tried their drink so no comment on that. Tried the macadamia cookie which seemed really dense at first, but it was actually really delicious and not too sweet at all. Perfect balance. I've heard of brown bag cookies on social media, and I was enticed by the shop's beautifully-curated selection of European-Asian fusion pastries. It's located in a gated plaza with expensive paid parking, but there's also metered parking on the street outside that's less-expensive (which I did). Place wasn't too busy when I walked in, and I opted for four financiers to-go. Each financier cost nearly $5, which was pricey, but oh man, they were GOOD. The verdict: -- Black sesame (10/10) My FAVORITE of the bunch. The black sesame cream was nice and earthy, all the while being not too sweet. -- Strawberry matcha (9/10) I could taste the matcha in the cake, which I liked, but WOW, the strawberry cream on top was so fruity and delicious! -- Yuzu jasmine (8/10) I believe this is a seasonal item? I did not taste much jasmine, but the yuzu really came through-- bright and refreshing! -- Ube (7/10) Honestly, this was the weakest of the four. The ube flavor was pretty subtle, but it was still a solid cake. The flavors were good, but I have to give a shout-out to the cakes themselves, as they were so buttery and moist while also having a nice, crusty texture to them. Hidden cute pastry store in Ktown! I came across this place on social media and I can't believe there's a pastry spot located behind a big building on Wilshire! Walking in, the store was small and there aren't really any places to sit and eat the pastries. When I went, there were about 2 people working so I was able to get my order quickly. I wish I was able to try fresher versions of them. This was a decent pastry/dessert spot, but given the hidden location and competition from other nearby spots, it might be hard for this spot to stand out. A cute little pastry shop at the back side of a plaza in ktown. Their displays are filled with beautiful pastries, and they've got a little table next to the window where I sampled my desserts. The workers were very friendly and helpful during my visit. I tried the earl gray tigre, the ube coconut canele, and the tiramisu foam london fog. The earl gray tigre was okay, a little dense but bouncy. The earl gray flavor didn't really come through that well. The canele though was absolutely scrumptious. Bursting with ube flavor complimented by the bits of coconut inside, and perfectly crisp on the outside while pillowy soft on the inside. The london fog with tiramisu foam was also very nice; the cold sweet foam added a lovely contrast with the hot unsweetened tea, and the tea itself had lovely floral notes and was brewed perfectly. My friend and I had already had a lot of pastries and things before we came here, but we both agreed that this place was so good we had to buy some things to take them home. If you like desserts that aren't overly sweet but are still full of flavor this is the place for you. We tried the matcha financier and an earl grey cream puff/scone/delicious thing. The flavor of the earl grey cream puff was so good, the earl grey cream was light and fluffy with a not too overwhelming earl grey flavor.
