I am writing to offer my sincere recommendation and appreciation for Colleen McNamee as a mediator…read more My spouse and I were together for 32 years in a long-term same-sex relationship. At the outset, we had generally agreed in concept on both the use of mediation and the broad framework for division of assets. During the process, my spouse was eager to move forward with purchasing a home in another state, which required me to sign an interspousal transfer deed waiver before our negotiations were fully completed. Although I did so with some reluctance, at the time our discussions appeared to be progressing constructively and in good faith. Unfortunately, after that point the tone of the negotiations changed dramatically. Outside influences and poor advice appeared to fuel a series of hostile accusations and reversals of previously discussed agreements. Matters that had once seemed resolved were repeatedly reopened and challenged, often in material ways. The process became emotionally exhausting and increasingly difficult to manage directly. It was during this period that Colleen's professionalism, patience, and balanced temperament became invaluable. She remained calm, methodical, fair-minded, and solutions-oriented throughout an often highly charged process. Time and again, she helped bring discussions back to facts, reason, and structure when emotions threatened to derail progress entirely. Many issues had to be revisited multiple times, and Colleen consistently demonstrated extraordinary patience and steady guidance in helping us work through them. Quite honestly, I do not believe we would have reached resolution without her. Her ability to maintain composure, create clarity, and steadily move both parties toward completion was instrumental in ultimately getting us over the finish line. I would strongly recommend Colleen to anyone seeking a skilled, balanced, and highly professional mediator capable of navigating even the most emotionally difficult situations. Jill

We decided to use a mediator since we agreed that all our assets would be split 50/50. Using a mediator for our divorce was one of the best decisions we could have made during such a difficult time. Colleen McNamee created a calm, respectful environment where both sides felt heard and understood. Instead of dealing with the stress and expense of a long court battle, we were able to work through disagreements in a productive and cooperative manner. What I appreciated the most was how Colleen kept conversations focused on solutions rather than conflict. She helped us communicate more effectively and guided us toward fair agreements that worked for both parties. The process was much faster, less emotionally draining, and far more affordable than traditional litigation. i would highly recommend McNamee Mediation to anyone going through a divorce. Colleen allowed us to maintain dignity, reduce tension, and move forward with a sense of financial closure and mutual respect. Joan Gianatasio

Nowzaree Law - Pouya Nowzaree, Esq.

Presence. Persistence. Professionalism…read more When I found myself in the throes of a wicked divorce, I felt helpless and had no idea what to do. I was up against an unreasonable opponent who had no problem stooping to low levels, backed by an army of cheerleaders and sycophants. With what felt like impending insurmountable defeat, I started shopping around for help. In comes Pouya. Presence: Should you find yourself in the courtroom, this is the guy you want next to you on the bench. He spares the theatrics and comes prepared with facts and case studies. Rather than reduce his talent to mud slinging and soap opera drama, Pouya stands tall with confidence in the arguments prepared. The language he uses is accurate and concise, spoken with the authority of an attorney who is knowledgeable. Pouya dresses well and makes sure that his materials are organized. The man oozes confidence and is a courtroom force for sure! Persistence: Nothing can sway Pouya. Knowing what the marching orders were, he did not back down to other bullies - in or out of the courtroom. Pouya stays on top of deadlines, follows up with opposing counsel, and sees the case from a logical perspective. Using a simple combo of logic and calmness, responses to opposing counsel were always sound and airtight. There was never an instance I thought we would falter. Professionalism: At the end of the day, it takes more than being a bulldog with a loud bark to succeed and this is where Pouya shines. From inception of the case to its completion, I nearly forgot that I wasn't Pouya's only client, he was that attentive. As an inexperienced client, of course I'd have a litany of questions and concerns. It was no challenge for Pouya to put them all to rest, even the seemingly stupid questions. Although the lawyer-client boundary was clear and professional, Pouya still made sure to call me out on my own bs and advise when I may or may not have an unreasonable expectation. This kind of attention kept us on track to a very successful outcome. His response times are very quick, his knowledge in his craft is very far reaching, and he carries himself as any self-respecting lawyer should. Sure, I had a lot of honesty and integrity to help my case. I kept great records and had mountains of evidence at the ready. One thing I've learned from this process is that NONE OF THAT MATTERS without the right representation. There is no doubt in my mind that the successful (and favorable!) closure of my divorce was a direct result of Pouya's intervention. With the greatest respect, I would hope to never need him again. But if the need arises, Nowzaree Law is my first pick, without hesitation. Shout out to his phenomenal staff as well. You're not just getting one lawyer, you're getting a well experienced team. Francine and Jill have been an absolute delight to work with throughout the process.

UPDATE: 9/25/25 I am already back at court to do what my…read moreattorney failed to do. I had a mediation 8/4/25, and he ghosted me (see photos). Before my mediation and trial in May, he also ghosted me (still charged me though), and then told me it will look bad in front of the judge if I go without him. Most unbelievably, he retaliated against my honest yelp review and put it in an email (see photos). I signed the substitution of attorney (terminating services) on 8/18/25 (see attached), immediately after the trail, because this attorney did not even ensure the two main things I wanted, pick-up/drop-off time listed on the custody agreement and to use the Talking Parents app, were added to the custody agreement. So literally, he did nothing but show me he has a chip on his shoulder about females. I received a bill dated 8/30/25 that Mr. Khan texted was the final bill at $1,545.90. Nearly one month after I signed the substitution of attorney (and coincidently right after he commented on my Yelp review), I suddenly have a second final invoice for over $6,000 with a date of 9/16/25. Suffice it to say I reported him to the Bar Association and Yelp. I stand by my 5-star initial review of the intake and consult; his office staff were amazing! This was such an experience that I almost forgot a crucial detail. See the pictures from our communication on the app he requests his customers to use. I sent him my custody modification 5/12/25 via the app and email, and he used the old form from 02/2024 and gave that one to my ex and his staff! Do you want to guess if he billed me for it? He sure did-twice! I outlined these in yellow and black. He tried to fix his mistake days before my trial, so I prepared my own binder, to which he replied the judge would be annoyed with. He also charged me $270.00 and listed: Prepared binder for trial. Run from this man. I just keep reporting his comments to Yelp because he is calling me a liar for giving an honest review with evidence. 9/26/25: Thank you yelp support, at least he changed his comments.

He understood the real danger behind my concerns, explained things gently and realistically, and supported me during a time when my child's safety was deeply at risk. His calm, focus, and stability were present in every decision, and I genuinely attribute my ability to function without constant anxiety to him. Family law is trauma, plain and simple, especially when your kids and livelihood are involved. After navigating part of the process on my own, I realized how different the reality of court is -- and how costly choosing the wrong attorney can be. Ryan's clarity, professionalism, and calm kept me focused, hopeful, and grounded. He explained everything in plain English -- the strategy, the process, and what to expect -- while never losing sight of what mattered most: my child's safety. What sets Ryan apart is his integrity and human-first approach. I never once felt like a case number. This was never about "winning"; it was about protecting my children, and he treated that responsibility with seriousness and care. Communication was excellent -- texts, emails, and calls were returned promptly, deadlines were met, and nothing ever felt rushed or careless. When difficult decisions arose, he offered honest guidance without pressure. Ryan knows the Orange County family law courts and approaches his work with sincerity and humanity. That combination is rare, and it matters more than people realize. I felt prepared and protected every step of the way. If you are looking for an ethical, responsive, strategic family law attorney in Orange County who genuinely cares about the people behind the case, this is the person you want on your side.
