They were able to respectfully and kindly make all arrangements over the phone. When they reviewed the costs and contract with my sister, she felt compelled to confirm the prices with them three times as their costs were exponentially lower than the other local funeral homes. After the cremation process, which occurred in a timely manner, their staff shipped my nephew's cremated remains to us. They shipped the cremated remains in a well-packed and secured container. They took care in their efforts and we are incredibly grateful for all that the staff of Green Hills Crematory has done on behalf of our family. They helped lighten our burden in our hours of grief. If the cemetery is so beautiful on a cold, rainy day, how stunning and peaceful it must be in the spring and summer. There is a Veterans section which prior to Veteran's Day had flags flying on all the stones of the deceased military men and women. There is a "Babyland" section which thankfully looked empty and many of the grave sites had silk flowers and memorabilia of the loved ones who had passed. It is much larger than it looks from the front gate and there is even a small mausoleum albeit an outdoor mausoleum. All in all, it seems as though it is very well maintained, a peaceful and lovingly cared for place to visit your loved ones. Thank you to whomever keeps these grounds so taken care of~

My only complaint would be that my loved one died on a Saturday morning. I tried to contact them on Sunday during business hours and spoke with someone who said a funeral director would call me back, but no one did. However, once I called on Monday and spoke directly with a funeral director, everything proceeded smoothly from there. All the paperwork is done on-line. Their prices are good, a big part of this is likely because the office on Millikan (in the City Hall Building in the Beaverton Round) is apparently just a small office with low overhead. The cremation is done through Riverview Abbey. It was done quickly and I was able to pick them up at the Millikan office (you can also pick up at Riverview Abbey). They can mail them to you as well. Obtaining death certificates through them was also easy, as was getting an obituary posted to their website. They are very professional, responsive, and happy to help.

Lakisha is knowledgeable and showed understanding and compassion as she laid out options to transfer the space. Within a week I received an envelope from her outlining what we had discussed with copies of all relevant documents and a preplanning guide for my husband and I to review! There was no communication ever. We are in the process of putting our Poppa to rest in the family plot at Mountain View. So we went to see the family plots and couldn't find Auntie Barbs plot. We asked on three separate occasions. Auntie Barb paid for her funeral expenses in advance. She purchased one of Mountain Views packages including cremation and a memorial service. At her passing over five years ago, my husband took care of the arrangements. On our third try asking, Lakisha finally told us Auntie Barb was in the back room and her cremains had never been buried. They said we owed 1100.00 for her burial. NEVER A PHONE CALL, EMAIL, BILL IN FIVE YEARS! NEVER! When we went in to pay and discuss the issue, we were told they couldn't find any of her paperwork. They were relying on a note in a computer. After a few weeks they miraculously found an internal document showing us the cost of internment was not checked off. They initially asked for 1100.00 to inter Auntie Barb. After going back and forth, out of the graciousness of their hearts, they only charged us 495.00. The price it would have been five years ago. Five years! We're mortified. This has greatly impacted our trust. Shame on you Mountain View. Just SHAME. I have doubts about the cremains. Were they even Auntie Barbs?

Cattermole Funeral Home apparently is comfortable platforming libel in the obituaries that they…read morehost, and when other family members complain, they refuse to listen, act defensive and not accommodating, do not return phone calls, or cannot be reasonable at all. They give endless horrible excuses about how only the "next of kin" decides the obituary's content; then when other next of kin object they move the goalposts and say only the "person in charge" (a.k.a. the person who originally wrote the obituary) decides. No, the person in charge is the owner and he has now ignored the objections of myself, my mother and my aunt after we were very upset and distressed by the contents of an obituary written without our input, and horrifically misconstruing events to a level amounting to libel. I made it very clear we weren't asking to re-write everything, just to remove the one incredibly offensive and untrue paragraph (I have proof and many witnesses) and they still refuse. They also won't allow anyone else to comment on the obituary sharing their story, but the original author is allowed to post libel on Cattermole's website all she wants, apparently. Horrible to enable people to use an obituary of all things to platform their libelous claims, while shutting out all other relatives from the process.
