(Less than an hour) Privately owned land by same family for generations. Lovely Picnic spot however Please Please be respectful and don't leave any Trash. They supply many receptacles & even Johnny on the spot, at entrance to your hike. This was the spot for 2 Hollywood movies. Pretty Kool to recognize the shots in the movies. Wow, what a beautiful little gem! A must see if you are anywhere in the area. It's a bit tricky to…read morefind and the road to the parking lot is also a bit interesting but it's well worth it. The hike to the caves is good for any age group. I think it must have been about a 1km round trip. There is the main cave and then you have three smaller ones that you can visit. When we first got there it was nice and empty and there must have been only about 2 - 3 groups but on our way out it got a bit busy and there must have been more like 6 - 8 groups there. Lot's to explore and lots to climb, especially fun for the kids. They also have a gazebo in the parking lot with park benches but unfortunately they are right across the outhouses, so not very appetizing. Picture speak for themselves...

It also depends on what you think a national park should be. As far as my opinion, it should be viewing beautiful sights and seeing animals. Serenity. This is not that. At all. If you think a national park should be a splash down water park, you're gonna love it. But you've got people walking the trails yelling at each other. You have people playing music loudly on the trails, as if they need their own personal theme song guiding them on their way. I even saw a Québécois stranger holding a dog in one hand, little child in another, walking in sandals at the Grotto on slick rock formations, jumping from one to the next. It was a disaster waiting to happen. It truly was an unpleasant experience. Look, the park tries to manage it. You have to reserve spots at both the Grotto and Halfway Log Dump. You have to pay a substantial fee to reserve as well. There are checkpoints going in like you're at Panmunjom on the Korean border. But it doesn't matter. There are still too many people. I think it is just too close to Toronto. My recommendation to anyone wanting a more peaceful national park experience would be to go to northern Ontario and visit Pukaskwa. Or even Lake Superior Provincial Park. They are both what I would want out of a park. I hate saying this, but I'd avoid the peninsula altogether.

I did the hike to Harrison park and back which took about 1.5hrs LOL. There's a nice stream you can go into and lots of photo ops. Once you're done that, Inglis falls is right around the corner which has stunning views. In terms of the trail, there's a flatter route which isn't very challenging. If you decide to take the other route, there's a lot of elevation gain. My watch said I did about 100m in elevation gain. Tbh I still feel it in my legs!

one of the better parks I have been to, but the orientation is a bit weird…read more the park is literally split up by the falls with no choice but to walk all the way around if you want to see the park on both sides. the park it self is very beautiful during all times of the year, and in the summer time is very popular for swimming, with people diving off of some of the falls that have formed. this location is also great for walking and for just seeing nature at its best, wildlife and the forestry. bring some food to feed either the fish or the ducks or both! parking is enforced at this park pretty strictly, when we entered there was a ranger inspecting vehicles, and when we were leaving same thing. pretty happy I came here, and I would love to come back, especially in the fall or even the winter months.

This is one of my favourite hiking trails in Canada. I'm not a hardcore hiker, but enjoy a scenic…read moreeasy-to-moderate walk, and the Cup and Saucer trail provides that. There are 3 paths: the red one (5km; undulating; has easy paths and trickier portions where you have to navigate rocks and be on the keen lookout for the markers so you won't get lost), the adventure path (offroad; apparently hardcore), and the blue (10km; mostly flat but still gets you to the main lookouts). My wife and I chose the red path, which took around 2 hours to navigate. The trek itself was interesting (there were points where you had to use makeshift ladders and navigate huge boulders). But the highlight was easily the Eastpoint lookouts. In a word: amazing. You stand out on the cliffs, wind whipping you about, and look out and see the forests and lakes. If you come at the right time, it's like you own the whole mountain. A few tips: - Go during autumn. The hike is pretty but made doubly so when everything is on fire. - Make sure to inspect the different openings along the top. What looks like nothing turns into a spectacular view if you just brush aside a few branches/bushes. - Go earlier in the day or later in the afternoon. We went at around 10am and there was enough parking and only a few people on the trail. By the time we were heading back at around noon, there were sooooo many people. We heard 11-1 is the peak period. - Wear sturdy shoes. I don't have hiking boots but do have trail shoes and that helped. I think sneakers are doable (I went during a sunny day so the trail wasn't muddy) but definitely advise against sandals or shoes you don't want to get scuffed up. - If you're on the island, go! It's beautiful.

We stayed at Lake George…read morecampground and did 3 hikes incl. the famous "Crack" and then rented a canoe for a day and went all the way to OSA lake and back. If you want to visit the park, plan far in advance, especially for summer months. Most sites are booked 6 months in advance. Bring sturdy hiking boots, especially for the "Crack" hike, there is a lot of climbing and jumping from rock to rock. Also, bring your own firewood, the one they sell in the park is wet and rotten, cut from the fallen trees. The only place you can buy dry firewood nearby is Killarney outfitters but it costs a ridiculous $16+tax for the bag of firewood that will last you for 2-3 hours.
