I was super excited to order from this company because they had a great selection of rare varieties of houseplants. The 3 plants i received were well packaged, but not healthy. The owner reached out to me directly to help. She was very knowledgeable and explained how the plants were stressed from being repotted and that the small plants had very delicate root systems. They sell unrooted, rotting cuttings, and try to tell you it's your fault. I am an experienced gardener, and once I realized what had happened, I grew a cutting from the rotted cutting they gave me, and now have a plant. But that's ridiculous to have to do and required lots of skill. They said they would ship another after first blaming me, but never shipped another. read more

I'm an avid plant collector and I won't be purchasing from Brumley & Bloom again. I ordered an emerald pothos didn't look anything like what I ordered when it came. Zero variagation. They have offered to resolve it by shipping me a new plant with photo approval, but have been pretty slow to make actual steps towards replacing the plant. It's been over 2 weeks now since I let them know about my issue. I also had I ordered 2 lizard queens. They looked beautiful when they arrived, but after a few days they started dying. I pulled them all out of their soil and guess what, total root rot! I Out of two plants, I am trying to propagate maybe 7-8 nodes at this point. Total rip off!! read more

I recently moved and needed more plants. I ordered plants which were not sent. I contacted the store on Saturday after 5 business days amd was told they were sent on the 5th business day but the shipper hadn't updated tracking. Also told they would f/u on Monday if the tracking wasn't updated. The tracking was not updated but I didn't hear from anyone. Wednesday I reached out again. The order was sent back to the team for refill. The plants arrived today Sat. Two weeks after ordering. They were shipped on their sides, swaddling in batting that wicked any moisture out of the soil. Two of four plants were clearly starts that had never been rooted in soil as it all fell away when trying to repot. This is not a good deal. I hope these stressed out plants survive. read more

I can't say anything about their brick and mortar location as I have never been and don't intend to go at this point, but I can tell you their website is a scam. I ordered a plant which was depicted to have variegated white leaves with green splash. the plant that showed up is the same shape but not variegated at all!? I guess I'm about to stick it directly under a grow light and hope I can stress it out enough to make it look like the picture? the original I ordered was "lost in shipping" at the point of "awaiting package acceptance" so it's way too late to do a charge back on my card also I was informed by my local and trusted nursery that the plant should variegate with age, edited review to 3stars and will update in a few months read more

This review is for their plant shop at Flint Farmers Market. I was so excited to see what they had to offer when I was shopping at the farmers market. They definitely have a great & huge selection of common & unique plants & I had a blast checking out all their plants. They person working the shop was so helpful as well answering all my questions about which plants were what and making good suggestions about what plants might best suit my home conditions. I ended up buying this really cute & unique looking plant that seemed to be a good fit for my space & excitedly went home to introduce the plant to the rest of my collection. Fast forward 2 weeks and all but 5 of the leaves had fallen off of the plant I had purchased from Brumley & Bloom. It was honestly quite shocking that this happened so fast, and it wasn't really all that cheap of a plant either. I was really disappointed because I had followed all the advice I had been given by the employee of the shop & couldn't understand what was going wrong. When I messaged B&B privately to discuss this, they were really not all that helpful, instead opting to say that they would've never given me the type of advice that their own employee had given me, telling me that in fact this was a very finicky plant to deal with, and ultimately left me on read when I questioned how this could've happened so quickly after purchasing it from them. I'm definitely disappointed that they were unable to handle this better than they did. They need to step up their customer service, train their employees better and/or get on the same page about how to recommend plants and give advice rather than play this blame game, and just be more truthful in the quality of their product. In all my experience with plants, I have never experienced such a drastic change so quickly, so I genuinely believe the misinformation I received to take care of this plant isn't the only reason why all its leaves fell in the span of two weeks. When I bought this plant, it was probably already in declining health and Brumley & Bloom failed to mention anything of the such in order to make a sale. I have since worked hard to nurse this plant back to health no thanks to Brumley & Bloom. It still doesn't look like it did when I originally bought it, but has leveled out on its fluctuations & has way more than 5 leaves now, which I will count as a win in my book for now. read more

they sent me dead plants and are refusing to send me a replacement or a refund. I will get my refund through PayPal but it will take a month. there are much better options. I've never had this issue with an online nursery. read more

I really wanted to love my plants. I ordered two 6" sanseveria green arrows, a 4" spiral cactus, a 4 " Monstera Esqueleto, and a 6" Diffenbachia Maculata. I received only one snake plant initially that had multiple leaves cut off for propagation. I contacted them regarding the snake plant issue, they did send two replacement snake plants. They both each still have leaves that were cut for propagation. The Monstera Esqueleto was grown from propagation, which is fine. There are three stems. But, two of the stems had only one root that was less than 2 inches long. The monstera has really struggled. The 4 inch spiral cactus was definitely a 2 inch spiral cactus that they put into a 4 inch pot. The maculata was pretty squished but is still alive. These were for gifts, I didn't end up giving them. Just didn't seem right. read more

I do not have enough beautiful words to share about this amazingly talented couple. From the very start Rachel got my vision and ran with it and her and Chase brought it all to life. The dedication, time and effort they put in to making every last detail so beautiful was so unbelievable. They were so easy and wonderful to communicate with over the year of planning and then when we finally got to meet in person I was blown away with how amazing they both were. I already had high expectations based on the beautiful work I had seen them do and when I finally saw the finished product...everything was better than I could have ever dreamed up. I lost track of all of the sweet compliments we received on people saying they were the most beautiful flowers they had ever seen.
