During the last year, I had some health issues, and had to use various meds, and every time I went to see them, they made sure I was okay with everything I had to use, that I fully understood the implications, and it didn't bother them that they were spending an hour talking with me about the effects of the meds and why I should or should not use them. They also always answered any question I could have, and would also care to send the meds to my place if I couldn't make it while they were open. They are very understanding and also take the time to contact the physicians or specialists if they fear the prescription is not right. Because they keep a very close follow-up, they can also suggest better meds when they see that the doctor didn't get the whole story of if they judge there could be another med more useful or less of a hassle than what was originally given. They helped me like no other pharmacist ever did, and they deserve to be known for their extraordinary work.

Today when I came to pick up my prescription at 5:50pm, they seemed very disappointed because they were already closing (they close at 6pm), so they asked me to return the next day. I asked them to at least fill one prescription that I needed more urgently to which they agreed, only to come back later saying the prescription looked like a "photocopy" and could not be used. To my surprise, I showed them my communications with the clinic where my doctor works, which had the prescription listed and attached. They still refused to provide me service saying I needed to have them fax the prescription on Monday (dos days from today). I'm glad this wasn't an emergency. However I will not return here and will have them send my prescriptions to a different pharmacy.

We travelled to the United States for 3 months this past winter(2020)and as we have repeatedly done took our supply of pills(approximately 90-180 pills per prescription) In February we became aware that 1 week of one of our prescriptions was missing. The only solution to this was to go to the emergency of a local hospital (urgent care will not fill ANY prescriptions). As a result we incurred $225 American dollars for the hospital and $80 American dollars for the missing pill We kept in touch with Mr Amiel's pharmacy consistently throughout these events. We received the bill this week and naturally went to talk to Mr.Amiel , knowing that this had all happened due to an error on his part. His irresponsible response was"Did you count the pills?" Well we have NEVER counted our pills assuming that if we needed 90 pills that's what we got! He told us that he had no intention of doing anything SHAME ON YOU MR AMIEL FOR TREATING US WITH SUCH CONTEMPT AND TOTAL DISREGARD TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS OF MANY YEARS. I have to say, Camille, (the pharmacist/owner) and her team have been so good at helping me manage my medication over the last twelve months in a really personal way. I feel like when I have questions, they're really listening to me, and giving me clear answers, and more importantly, I feel like they really care about how I'm doing not just with my medication, but as a whole person. It's a huge difference from when I was going to the Pharmaprix and after waiting around for a half hour for my prescription, I'd again have to stand in line for the pharmacist to recite a bunch of standard questions and consider it a "consultation" (all while other customers shuffled impatiently behind me if dared to ask questions.) Anyways, suffice to say, for me, personalized service by a team who actually knows who I am and cares about my choices has made me a convert! Sure I still buy my makeup and hair products at a department store pharmacy, but when it comes to my medication, I take my health very seriously and a pharmacist who knows me and cares wins my business hands down no question! They even call me to remind me when my medications are due for renewal so that I don't forget, and also deal with faxing my doctor when I am out of refills to make my life easier. Really amazing professional and personalized service. I moved to the other side of town a few months ago and I continue to use this pharmacy because of how great they are to deal with. Driving ten minutes is a small sacrifice for having such a great addition to my medical team. This is an older Jean Coutu and it shows. Not only that but the business hours are more " store…read morehours " than " pharmacy hours " (unless they have updated since the ones mentioned on Yelp). The good: It's a Jean Coutu. They pretty much have everything. Clerks were nice when at cash. The bad: Shopping rows extremely narrow, you cannot pass more than one carriage in a row. There is " usage " everywhere. The cash counter have usage spots and needs to be replaced. Jean Coutu set the tone for pharmacies in Quebec. But now, we have newer pharmacies with more room. Do NOT enter is you are claustrophobic. Jean Coutu's concept is now dated, and they will not change.

There is a plethora of pharmacies in and around Terrebonne. This Proxim location is convenient by…read morelocation. What I prefer about this location is that as it's newer it's not super busy as they probably are building up their clientele. The downside to this however is that their product offering is not as large as the Jean Coutu that is a bit farther away by 5-7 minutes and a traffic light. Jean Coutu has a much larger product offering and where I'm more likely to go to if looking for more than one item. If I'm coming here for a specific prescription it's an easy in and out. Pricing is equivalent to other pharmacies. I've found their service is not crazy bubbly friendly but sincere. I'll come back infrequently as their selection is lacking in some areas.
