This business offers both a small (but packed) chocolate store, and fresh crepes. Their chocolate selection included both house items and some hard to find brands. None of it cheap, of course, but one wouldn't expect it to be. The people I saw working there had discernibly French accents. I could do with both aspects of their store being a bit more substantial, but as it was, it was definitely worth a stop.

This is a tiiiiiiny little chocolate shop that also offers cakes and crepes. Their vegan and…read moregluten-free options are clearly marked (unfortunately, none of the crepes were vegan). I had a slice of raw vegan matcha cake and while it was decadent and tasty, it also tasted very "raw" (lots of coconut flavour, if you've had raw desserts you know what I mean -- gets a bit old). I enjoyed it but I would've preferred a more traditional cake-like vegan option (sometimes vegans get tired of only having raw dessert options!) There wasn't a lot of vegan selection in the chocolates themselves either -- lots of dairy in the ingredients. Also, it seemed on the pricey side. My non-vegan boyfriend got a few dairy-containing treats and enjoyed them but said the same thing -- a bit pricey for what you get. Still, the service was friendly both times we went (both French girls) and I'd recommend it if you're in Byron and wanting a sweet treat -- just wish they had more vegan options.

Wow! This place has an amazing gelato and sorbet selection and totally kicks Baskin & Robins' butt…read moreto the kerb. Although B&R is just across the road - and before Bella Rosa opened we would go to B&R's for an ice cream in the evenings in Byron Bay - but seriously that franchised dumbed-down ice cream joint cannot compete with the beautiful made-on-the-premises masterpieces opposite at Bella Rosa. You've got way more choice too at Bella Rosa. They seem to have daily menu changes to their delicious offerings. So if you want the full creamy dairy hit- you can go the gelato. Want the dairy free option? Go the sorbets. Either way you will not be disappointed. We rocked up to the counter and stood there drooling at the frozen treats on display, trying to decide. YYYYYYummo! So many gorgeous flavours to choose from. We went for the sorbet - trying not to overdo the dairy these days. In the sorbet line we could choose form dark chocolate, blood orange, raspberry, lychee, lime, passion fruit and yes, good ol' traditional Italian style lemon. Can't decide? They kindly offer tasting samples to help you choose? Served in either crispy sugar cones or cups. We went for the cups. Last night i had 2 flavours in a cup- raspberry and passionfruit. Fresh, perfectly tart, so smooth and icy sweet. My man had 2 flavours too - chocolate and raspberry - he enjoyed so much that he had this combo two nights in a row. My second night I had 2 flavours - dark chocolate and lychee. Whoah!! Amazingly good. What a beautiful taste combo. I felt like I had discovered a brand new land. That dark chocolate sorbet is definitely the bomb! So nice to wander around Byron Bay in the cool of the evening enjoying a gelato (or in our case - a sorbet cup). Glad we made it in time cos it closed 9pm on Wednesday nights. If you like great tasting gelato and sorbets masterpieces made with love and passion I think you'll appreciate what Bella Rosa offers. Five stars.

The white chocolate tastes better than actual white chocolate, and the macadamia has chunks of caramelised nuts. Delicious! Unfortunately it's small and cramped with limited seating.
