From what I understand, it's supposed to be fresh frozen custard served upside down because it's thick and frozen, but mine was far from that. It was served the regular way, and the custard was basically liquid. I also ordered my dad's plain vanilla frozen custard. The lady helping us was sweet, but she mentioned they only had certain frozen custards available at the moment, which was disappointing. I feel like there should've been a sign letting customers know that beforehand. When I questioned my order and mentioned what the sign described the Carolina Concrete to be, the employee did offer to remake it, which I appreciated. But honestly, I shouldn't have had to ask for something to be made correctly the first time when I paid for it. I'm not sure what was going on, but it felt like they weren't prepared for the Sunday crowd on a hot day. And no -- before anyone assumes it melted because of the weather -- I ate it inside my car with the A/C on, not outside. One thing I'll always give them credit for is the atmosphere. The outside seating area is still really nice, especially with the fountain, and it looks beautiful at night with the lights. With a mix of classics and more unique flavor options, I have never once tried an option I did not truly enjoy, if anything they have often been amongst the best of that flavor I have even ever had. The ice cream is just so good, the texture, creaminess, and flavor profiles all incredibly well balanced. The shop itself is clean, well decorated, and inviting with a semblance to what you'd expect and desire from a classic ice cream shop. They even pay attention to the details, like using these fun metal spoons for tasting (highly suggested) instead of the typical flimsy plastic or wooden ones common in other shops, which are available for purchase. The staff was friendly, service was efficient. There is also some cool merch which is fun if you're into that stuff. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of their naming scheme for the options, instead of just having a single, double, or more straightforward menu options, they have names like "standard" which is actually 2 "half scoops" (quotes cause they're just small scoops), and then a single which is a single full scoop, or a trio which is 3 half scoops not full scoops, just overall a tad confusing and not straightforward in how much ice cream you are actually getting, though it does allow one to get multiple flavors more easily I guess?
