A sampling of desserts that we picked out for a group of us to share

This place is special. I don't know how else to even say it. It's this tiny, unassuming looking bakery in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the contents of which I would put up against the contents of any bakery anywhere. The desserts are fancy, beautiful, expertly crafted, and - most importantly - yummy. They love what they do, and you can taste that love in the end product.

It's such a blessing to have a European quality bakery that is run like a family business! If you are in the FDL area - please don't spend your money anywhere else! This unassuming location and building houses a real, high quality bakery. The macaroons are without question the best you will find this side of the Atlantic Ocean and if you get a chance to meet the baker, you feel like you are in Europe. I cycle into town this morning at 6am, to get the first pick.

It's less like an "as seen on TikTok" place and more of a place to get your ingredients for Asian home cooking. I appreciate that. It's so hard for me to find a decent variety of Filipino items and viet hoa had so many from bagaoong to hopia. Thank you for your kind service. I will be coming here more than global market for my Asian/ Filipino goods at a good price.

I use a lot of different ingredients foe my cooking. Everything from pigs blood to Durian. And now they finally have my favorite instant coffee.. the white durian coffee.... For basic meats it's okay. Global is better on the seafood selection and protein options. But the hidden, and amazing gem is Hot and Spicy kitchen.... ohhhjjh that place.... I love it. People are always friendly. Even that weird girl at the register. I truly enjoy my experience there.

This was unexpected and the anti-conservative hate speech on the back of the packet is highly upsetting/offensive. Asked customer service if I could return for a full refund and was told "the socio-political messaging on certain products and our website is a core part of our business" and that I had to eat the return shipping cost. Highly disappointed that Penzey's refused to do the right thing in this situation, and would rather lose a long time fan of your spices over the owner's personal socio-political beliefs - which have no place in a business model. As a customer I do not force my beliefs on you as a business owner, and I expect the same in return.

Between the winding driveway and the old, abandoned guard shack it feels like a giant trap until you park and enter the store to confirm it is in fact a spice store. Outside of that, staff was pleasant enough but not particularly interested in asking if you need any help. Since I had a general idea of what I wanted, I didn't let that bother me too much and found some small gift sets for my employees to serve as part of their Christmas gifts, though I do wonder how many other people just leave and end up at the mall instead? In the past they often had little deals or bonus items while you were checking out, but that didn't seem to be the case this time--inflation must have gotten them, too!

I first visited in May for produce but found the quality and selection underwhelming. Later, I heard they stocked some unique ice cream brands, so I went back to check them out. While I appreciate the unique selection, the prices were pretty steep--likely due to tariffs, logistics, and convenience. There was only a couple of customers on a weekday lunchtime, so it was quiet. Since I make monthly grocery runs to Chicago suburbs, I ended up getting my specialty ice creams there instead. I also browsed their hot food bar but didn't find anything that appealed to me. There's also a small cafe attached where they sell baklava and other sweets. On the plus side, the location is very central with plenty of parking.

I took a picture of the label just in case I forgot all off the goodness in it - perfectly cooked pasta, shreds of good cheese, celery, green pepper, scallions, and apparently some cream along with the mayo. I think I will give it a shot this weekend - hopefully it will be just as yummy.
