We recently decided to purchase a second home in the Bay Area and set our pricing parameters somewhat unrealistically for what we wanted between $1.5 million and $2.5 million. We've bought in the Bay Area before and I was always reluctant to pay full commission given what little we asked of our agents in the past; we would find the homes and usually make an offer on the first or second home we were shown.
