BLUF: A store featuring quality outdoor gear that is uniquely connected to a taproom. Generally the best stores in Bryson City are on Main Street, not Everett Street. Specifically, I am a big fan of the BC stores including BC Outdoors, BC Market on the Square and BC Bakery. Regarding Bryson City Outdoors, they are connected to a tap hours so gear on the left and beer on the right. What's not to love? If you don't love beer they have wine too! Much to my surprise, I skipped the beer and went for gear. After perusing fleece jackets, hiking shoes, headlamps and the such, I landed on a new pair of socks. Not that I needed anything but the employees were so kind I just had to support this local business somehow. Hmm, maybe I should have gotten a pint after all. Lots of good stuff and quality brands for the whole family - all nicely organized. Overall, a great place located on the corner of Main Street and Everett. Most definitely one of the best stores in town. read more

Spent a week in Bryson City this summer and kept coming back to Bryson City Outdoors! My family (including two kids ages 3 and 7) especially loved the patio -- adults were happy trying out the craft beer menu, with water on tap for kids + free (and for purchase) snacks! We made friends with the lovely employee as well as some of the other patrons. Dog friendly, kid friendly, and a very chill vibe. The shop inside has a great selection of outdoor gear, clothes, boots, shoes, hats, and more. But really -- the patio! Such a gem. read more

I absolutely loved this establishment. Came here to check for great sales since I was in the area. This store has everything an outdoorsman would love from great footwear to attractive apparel, impressive and unique outdoor gear I've never seen before. Prices are fairly modest, the bar that's attached as well feels like such a hidden gem simply because it has a great selection of local drinks on tap including non alcoholic products and the stuff I really like not on tap is also in store on their shelves I can buy to go. People are really warm and receptive here. Highly suggest coming here! read more

This is a sweet setup; outdoor/backpacking gear and beer?! Hell yeah! Came here with my father in law who ruined his hiking shoes on the trail. Good stop in Bryson City ! It's a little store / beer tap room. Outside there's lots of different seating ! High top tables and also picnic tables with shade. It's right off the road in front of the fire department. It's such a small little town feel. I tried the CiderBoys peach cider .... YUM. I'll take 5 more please ! They have different beers on tap , I think there was maybe 8-9 if I can remember right. My cider was so delicious! I was happy since I'm a cider type person and not really into the IPAs or dark beers. Which they also had ! It's a cute little sunny spot and I like that it has a small town vibe. Definitely stop if you're passing through or staying in town! Only thing that would of made it better is maybe corn hole or outside games ! It would be perfect for that. Lovely oasis in Bryson City! We were traveling with our dog and were happy to find that this place not only says they are dog friendly online but was super adamant about it in person. Trying to walk out with a beer, slushie, and my excited dog I spilled a bit on the floor (sorry!), but the bartender was super kind and understanding, helping to clean up our little mess with no fuss - thank you! The beer selection was stellar. My boyfriend tried two half pints of different local IPAs and I opted for two half pints of their wine slushies. For slushies you can get Peach or Strawberry. Both were delicious but I preferred the peach because it was a little less sweet. Great selection of outdoor gear and their branded shirts were well done and classy - we ended up getting one for a family member. There was also a delicious Mexican food truck parked outside as well which just topped it all off. Check this place out if you are in town! read more

Great selection of outdoor gear and clothing with some very cool designs. Super friendly staff. The best part of the experience was the great selection of local draft beers and choices of beers on taps. It's fresh and varied. The real star of the show is Liz and her awesome and helpful beer knowledge! Be sure to stop by and say hi! Super friendly and extremely helpful, which made us want to keep going back! Also check for the beer tasting events which are free and awesome. We were in town in time to check one out and were grateful we were as we found some new favorites. As an outfitter they appear to have most of the basics and they have a great selection of hats, stickers and t-shirts for the tourist appetite. The craft beer side had a great selection of beers on tap and a large number of cans and bottles in the cooler. The vibe is mostly tourist and out of towner with perhaps some locals mixed in drinking craft beer. The patio was large and nicely shaded and the bar was small but nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely a good place to stop off in town for a cool drink and a souvenir. read more

Excellent customer service, the reason for the two stars. My complaint? Over 14 dollars for a six pack of local craft beer that I can get at Ingles for less than 10 bucks. Are you flippin' kidding me? Nearly 22 bucks for two stickers and a sixer is a rip off. It won't happen again. It's a shame. Super cool store, horrible prices. UPDATE: removing the two star review. The owner contacted me personally and explained the mistake in beer pricing. Furthermore he made it right by correcting said mistake. You can hardly ask for more. I will tell you, Bryson City Outdoors is a super cool store that I have frequented when visiting town. I own a cabin nearby and have purchased several items from the main store and have been very happy. The craft beer store has an amazing selection and now that the pricing issue has been corrected, I won't have an issue purchasing from them in the future. Thanks Ben for addressing the issue. Awesome and convenient outdoors store...multiple shirts with cool designs, good selection of footwear to choose from, great selection of socks and travel packs...the only drawback is the lack of clothing if you forget something necessary for hiking...staff is super knowledgeable about local hiking...also the taproom is awesome! read more

Maybe the coolest store in town. They stock a fantastic selection of gear for such a small shop and the people are singularly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Huge selection of totally cool hats which they design themselves and, best of all, their sister store next door has huge collection of craft beers.
