The Hollybush Centre is somewhere I really enjoy spending time. I first went along to get experience in conservation then soon learned there was lots of destruction involved in conserving. Much scrub clearance takes place in order to improve habitat, remove virulent species and clear the way for building structures such as paths or viewing platforms.
This is a great stress reliever, mind-clearer and tiring way to spend a day, you will sleep well after a days volunteering here.
If you have the time to commit four days a week to BTCV they will reward you with plenty of training and responsibility.
There are normally two tasks to choose from in the morning, tea, coffee and biscuits breaks should be in supply but you must take your own lunch (and plenty of it), waterproofs and tough outdoor clothing. Weekday tasks are Monday to Friday and occasionally there are weekend activities.
