This was my first trip here after wanting to go here for some time. Parking was very limited on a Friday @ noon, not too many parking spots available. Was able to order quickly at the counter and food arrived within 10 minutes. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was already too warm to sit outside and eat hot food, unless you like that kind of thing! I ordered the 3-meat combo plate with pulled pork, brisket burnt ends and baby back ribs. Sides I picked were coleslaw and elote. Meal also came with a corn muffin. The highlights: Brisket burnt ends were tender with good bark and had nice flavor. The pulled pork was also very tasty and tender. Sauce was nicely balanced (they even sell it if you want some to go). Corn muffin was light, fluffy and delicious, not too sweet and the honey butter had some cinnamon in it which turned out to be a winner in my book. The "room for improvement" came with the ribs, elote and the coleslaw. The ribs were a bit disappointing. They were a tad dry and overwhelmingly smoky in flavor. I was looking for the succulent, fall-off-the-bone kind of rib with a delicious rub perhaps. As for the coleslaw, it was honestly very bland. No tang, no sweet, no distinct flavor. Needed a little salt too. The elote was a nice idea but the corn lost all its moisture (sat in dry heat too long?) and was kind of shriveled upon arrival. The toppings were good, but I was hoping for juicy, spits-in-your-eye kind of corn. All in all, I would definitely go back. It's hard to judge a place like this off one visit and the food I did like, I would return for. read more

Solid BBQ place in Cashmere. We got the #3 combo ($28.95) which came with choice of 2 meat, 2 sides. We chose the pork butt burnt ends and baby back ribs with sides of Mac n Cheese and hush puppies. There's also a choice of sauce with varying heat level. The meat was super tender, fall off the bone moist. A bit greasy but great smoky taste. We also added for up charge of $2 brisket burnt ends and onion rings each. The fried pickles ($8.95) was nice and crispy. A nice find hidden next to a car wash. Interesting vibe, clean and good atmosphere. Service is you order at counter inside, pick up food on the outside and go back inside (when it is raining) and have a nice meal. Had the Brisket Philly with Elote (on cob). All was very good. I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but this place is my go-to when I'm in that mood. My Aunt introduced me to this little gem. I wouldn't have found it on my own; it is tucked away in an awkward spot. The food is very flavorful. I have not had a dish I didn't enjoy. The meat is tender and seasoned well, not so peppery that it can't be eaten, just well balanced. The sides are done well and are all solid. My biggest struggle is narrowing down what I want. It is all so good. The staff is always friendly and patient with two indecisive old ladies. I genuinely appreciate them. I recommend going with friends who don't mind sharing off their plates. We are a special kind. You will likely want to try more than just one or two things. You order your food inside, prepared in the truck outside. Sounds odd, but it works. The seating inside is suitable for BBQ and usually has sporting events to grab your attention on the TV. On lovely days, they have the big doors open so you can enjoy Wenatchee's pleasant climate. read more

My first time here and I'm impressed. I ordered for take-out: the 2 Meat Family Pack Combo. The whole meal was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous, more than expected--easily 2 or 3 meals for 2 people. The baked beans were exactly the time-honored picnic flavor we all remember, and the coleslaw was saucy sweet, crisp, and fresh. The cinnamon-honey-butter that comes with the cornbread was a real delight--made the cornbread almost a dessert entrée. Both, the bbq pulled pork, and bbq chicken favors were right on point. And the skin on the chicken thighs was crispy, which added to the bark flavor. The pulled pork was a little stringy and the chicken thighs were somewhat dry, but there was no questioning of the quality of the meat. It's easy to overcook meat in a smoker. Nonetheless, the flavor was not compromised--we totally enjoyed the meal, which was still hot, even after a 20 minute ride home. The portions were amazing for the price. The whole esthetic of the inside sit down area is beautiful. Not low and slow. Ribs are a sickly greyish green. They're boiled and then briefly smoked. No bark. No smoke ring. Meat was tough and DRY. It came off the bone but these are bad. All the flavor was in the sauce. The chopped brisket is slightly better but not worth writing home about. Interior dining is fine. Parking is TIGHT. Price is reasonable for quantity of food but make no mistake, these are not spending 4-8 hours on the smoker. Not coming back. Home smoked on pellets is MUCH better. read more

Excellent BBQ joint. Curds and Mac n' cheese bites were smackin' (my kids' description). The burnt ends were so flavorful and tender. The tots and fries were crispy and delicious. The service was perfect. The guy that took our order was super friendly, knew the menu, and was very personable. The indoor seating was exactly what we were looking for. It was clean and perfectly themed. Very kid friendly and our kids enjoyed playing while we waited. Stopped in for lunch yesterday. This was our first time visiting Bubba J 's BBQ. Tried the pulled pork sandwich with a side of beans. Both items by far the best bbq I tasted in a very long time. Pork was plentiful, full of smoky flavors, hot and moist but not too moist. Seasoning was moderate, I prefer a little more spicy, they have three levels of sauce all are excellent. My opinion the best in town. Service was great,friendly and helpful. Inside was clean and well maintained with a small area the young ones. The place is well put together, the food truck looks great and the small indoor counter, restrooms, and seating areas were very clean! The pork ribs were way over cooked (definitely from the steamer keeping then warm). The meats we ordered were bland, not a lot of smoke from their smokers. The brisket was chopped not sliced so all of the fat cap was part of the total weight (8oz portions). Their two BBQ sauces tasted like a mixture of Costco sauce with a few added personal spices.... Very blah, but you had to add the sauce to the meat because of the dryness of the meat. Mac and cheese was cheesy (Gouda I believe) but no depth of flavor. The beans were okay, but a food truck should have outstanding sides, we did not find those sides. The brisket was better than the pork ribs, 100% but in a world of other restaurant choices I recommend you spend your money elsewhere. The owner, took our order, and she was very pleasant. One soda, 1/2 order of Brisket, one pork ribs, two Mac and cheeses, one bbq beans, and water were almost $45. The meal was not worth that amount, sorry Bubba J's. You need to step up your quality of your food, make some authentic bbq, not generic tasting or cheap tasting trash. read more

Bubba J's BBQ is a true gem the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere fun and inviting. And the decor was cool and comfortable. Now for the food, I got the loaded BBQ burrito with fries inside (definitely get the fries inside). This thing was massive, like enough for a midnight snack, breakfast the next morning and lunch. Over about 6 visits now i've tried quite a few different items and i have the same complaint across the board... too fatty and too greasy! Every sandwich i've had has been grilled in butter or oil to the point where the bread is soggy and saturated. Both the brisket grilled cheese and the brisket dip were more than half comprised of gelatinous chunks of fat, not actual meat. The mac & cheese has been separated every time with a pool of oil at the bottom at the bowl. The bun on the pulled pork sandwich was so soggy i couldn't eat it because it was disintegrating into mush. I really want to like the food here because most of the flavors are good but it keeps leaving me feeling greasy and a bit sick to my stomach. I am a regular at this establishment however my recent experience has been the worst I've ever had here. I usually order a one piece combo which has always been very good. Last night I decided to try a different item from the menu. (Which was a bad idea) I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich to go. When I got home the sandwich had so much Nashville hot sauce on it that the bottom bun was completely soggy. For $17 I expected more. Now I know not to stray from my usual order.
