I have been twice now. I ordered the same thing twice as I like spicy items. The second time my wife was with me and both times I was with my parents. The onion rings here are the bomb. They are truly special. I have had many onion rings in my life and these are truly among the best I have ever had. Both times I got the habanero burger. The habanero is in this fried cream cheese on top of the burger. At first I didn't know what that little fried packet was on top but when you pop it the spicy cream cheese covers the burger. The party is really good quality beef. You get fries w it but can upgrade w onion rings which I recommend. There are diced grilled onions and jalapeños under the patty. I choose to eat this burger w a fork. Last time we got the onion ring appetizer full order and it was a great appetizer for the four of us. My wife got the shrimp basket and chose tater tots and coleslaw as sides. She loved her meal but said the cocktail sauce was a bit spicy and so she chose ketchup. She doesn't tolerate spice very well. The place is good but a bit noisy and one can easily get distracted by the many televisions etc. I think it is a great place but I wouldn't recommend it if you needed to go over real important stuff like paperwork or intimate conversation as it is a bit loud. We went at 4 and it was a bit less loud. If you get a sandwich they offer for a small price to sub a side salad for the fries. I have my eye on trying the buffalo chicken sandwich. We had just arrived in Waco early Saturday evening and were looking for a place to eat. Bubba's 33 was close by so we decided to go there. Even though there was a waiting list, it was mainly for groups and we, as a couple, were able to be seated quickly. We started with an order of their signature onion rings. The breading was light, but too greasy and salty for my taste. For our main dishes, my wife had Bubba's Bacon Burger single and I had Blackened Bleu Burger; each came with French fries. Although the burger tasted good, it was too salty for my taste. The hamburger meat itself without the bun or sauces was too salty. The wait service was spotty. Our waitress acknowledged we didn't have tableware, said she would bring it, but never did; we had to ask someone else for tableware. We placed our appetizer and main dish orders at the same time. Our waitress failed to time putting the orders into the kitchen and we had our main dishes served shortly after our appetizer was brought to the table. If you like salty food or don't mind it, you would probably find Bubba's 33 a nice place to eat. If you're salt intake conscious or watching your sodium intake, you might choose to dine elsewhere. read more

Writing this after waiting 50 minutes when we were told 20-30. I understand some things are not in anyone's control however at the 30 minute mark I looked and saw several tables available , when I asked the hostess about the tables I was told there was no servers . There was 6 servers surrounding the hostess stand and 2 more setting in a booth . After about 15 min we were seated at the tables we had asked about previously. I've been to this place before and it was an okay experience but today's experience was horrible. I'm not one to write many bad reviews but I have to now. After being seated it took over 15 minutes to get our tables drink order and by the time we got it, the drinks tasted like tonic water. Had to wait another 5 minutes for drinks again. I ordered a cheeseburger as well as the rest of my table, when we finally got our food my burger and a few others were not cooked all the way through and when we brought it to the attention of the waiters, one of them said with attitude that they only cook the burgers medium well. We all had to reiterate that it all needs to be cooked well done and didnt want to be sick. We waited a bit over 15 minutes to be served again and by that time I wasnt even hungry anymore and it was already time to leave to get back on the road. Bubba's was located in pretty much the same parking lot as the hotel we were staying while visiting Waco. So, it was an easy choice for a family of hungry travelers. We ain't from around these parts and don't have a Bubba's where we come from. It's your standard burger/diner type of restaurant, though, and it was good. Good selection of beer. And the beers are voluminous and well priced. I ordered a large Stella which cost $7. Where I come from, the same volume of beer would set you back at least $12. Food was reasonably priced as well. The food was solid. We had the pizza. Mixed it up with half pepperoni and half margherita. Kids had the burgers along with some onion rings. Service was excellent, food came out quickly, drinks filled regularly. The place was hopping when we went on a week night. Full restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere, TVs everywhere, loud. This was a great casual dinner spot within walking distance of our hotel. Highly recommend the grilled chicken salad (potato straws are a nice touch and the balsamic vinaigrette is one of the best I've had out). The spicy chicken sandwich was devoured by my husband who loves spicy food. He added a side of the habanero sauce and really enjoyed it. He swapped out fries for a single wedge salad which was also good. We had the chorizo queso for an appetizer and it was a great consistency (not too thick, not too thin) and had a really nice variation in flavor with the toppings that made each bite a little different (and delicious)! House made salsa and chips were also really good. You get more salsa chips if you eat them all. We were there earlier (before 6) so it wasn't very loud. Let me start off by saying that the food is here AMAZING. We usually get one of their pizzas, as well as switching between getting Fried Pickles and Crooked Fried Cheese as an appetizer. Today I got the Blackened Bleu burger, and I think I have a new favorite burger in town! It's never crazy packed, and they always have good games on the screens. The only reason this place is getting three stars is because every single time we go here, the waiters always try to rush us out like we're Olympic dining or something. Before I even get to take a bite they're usually asking if we want to go boxes, or saying whenever we're ready here's the ticket. While I appreciate the fact that they're usually pretty quick about getting our food out, I would like to enjoy my meal instead of being pushed out the door in a matter of minutes. During one of our more recent trips to Bubba's we went with the pace of our waitress, and we were out of the restaurant in 20 minutes. No joke. So while the food is amazing and the restaurant itself is clean and energetic, I don't like getting rushed when I go to a sit down restaurant. read more

The double wedge salad fresh and crisp with all the fixins. The boneless wings were fresh out that grease with cajun seasoning on them. We usually love coming here but tonight was not great . They sat us at a dirty table . No silverware for appetizers , didn't get sliverware till dinner . They took our favorite fiesta dip off the menu. The food came out cold and hard . Steak was very tough . The server Sarah didn't pre bus our table one time so we just had piles of dishes all over . This is my second time at Bubba's at Waco and I am even more impressed this time around. Can't say enough on how great the staff was: Jordan, Amber and Casey(sp)? These folks were behind the bar and extremely helpful and friendly. I ordered the Candied Bacon and the Spicy Habanero burger and both were delivered cooked to perfection and out quickly. The Bacon was more like braised pork belly which was awesome because it wasn't overly sweet and the pork was the star instead of the sauce. The Burger was SPICY but awesome. (I paid for it the next morning though) They has great beer on tap and I never had an empty glass until I was finished. I don't normally go to chain restaurants when I travel but you bet your bottom dollar I will be back here in June when I travel for the gun show again. read more

Cute chain sports bar with inside and outside seating and many televisions tuned in to several types of entertainment. The patio is dog friendly although we didn't have our dogs. We sat the bar and our bartender Alexia was super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I opted for coleslaw instead of fries and I at last minute a half order of onion rings to split with my husband who ordered Cajun chicken wings. The food came out fairly quickly. I was super impressed with my Burger although I couldn't eat it all, the coleslaw was creamy and plentiful, my husband's wings were just how he liked them. What we were most impressed with were the onion rings. They were hand cut and breaded in house, and the breading was light and airy and cooked to perfection, and it came with a side of their Bubba sauce, which was really good as well.
