My go to is always peach oolong tea but most places make it with oolong tea and add a bunch of sugary peach syrup to flavor it. I HATE that because I don't like sweetened teas. I want to taste high quality tea with natural fragrance. The employee told me their tea was made without sugar so I excitedly ordered it. The popcorn chicken is also a solid choice, albeit slightly dry. I got my tea and it was PERFECTION. The oolong taste was lovely and the fragrance of the peach was strong. Service: food came out to us within 5 minutes of ordering, we went around 5pm and the place was half full. The kitchen crew looked fully staffed so wait was not long at all. The waffle is still as good as last time. It always reminds me of the egg waffle I've had when I was in hongkong. I didn't expect that I could get it here. The staff highly recommended their matcha latte. She told me their matcha is imported from Japan and I was surprised because I know that is pretty expensive. And I could tell it is definitely not a cheap matcha powder because of the taste and the color. Came here to try the puffs. The regular flavor is definitely the best, matcha was so-so. Definitely eat it when it's fresh so it's warm and crispy. You get to pick toppings to add for a fee. The regular boba milk tea was 4/5 and uji matcha latte boba was 3/5. Boba was a perfect texture but the tea I wasn't a fan of. I will say I'm not fond of the ordering system- it's a kiosk but no descriptions of the items other than the name. I wish they could just let us order verbally as it is easier for the customer. This place is tucked away so sometimes I forget about it. It's right next to PCC, so I believe it might be a good spot for students. Pasadena has had an uprise in boba places in the last few years. Bubble Puff and Tea is still higher on the list of all these new places. All these shops have opened but few of them have decent popcorn chicken. I would say maybe 4 of them have popcorn chicken and the only 2 that taste good are Bubble Puff and Prolece. I will say that I can't find any place in Pasadena that has popcorn chicken that tastes like true Taiwanese chicken with 5 spice, but these will do. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5 is because sometimes their chicken is inconsistent. For example, once we got it and the chicken had no seasoning and just tasted like we were eating fried chicken pieces..almost like nuggets. However, when they do get it right - the chicken combo with rice is nice and hearty! The drinks here are really nice. My favorite drink of theirs is their avocado smoothie. There are also many places that can't make a good avocado smoothie but theirs is soooo good! I can't resist ordering it. They also make very tasting egg waffles.
