To begin with, the facility at 2084 University Drive-where the little ones are assigned to-is decrepit, out of maintenance, and smells like mold inside. Despite this, I gave it a chance. However, this location is literally run by teenagers with no supervision, including the instructors, The instructor my son had took her bad mood on him, almost let him drown because she was frustrated with him and then scolded him for about five minutes non-stop because he was moving his legs kicking while sitting at the edge of the pool waiting for his turn. To put things in context, my son is 3 years old. When it was his turn, she let him swim back to the edge-as they always do, and when she realized he wasn't making it and visibly swallowing water, she did NOTHING. Yes, you read correctly, she did nothing until I stood up (I was inside looking through the glass) then she proceeded to help him. When the class ended, instead of letting him have his five minutes of play time as usual, she decided to scold him because he was previously kicking. I approached her and she said, "why is he not responding"? "He can't talk"? And I explained to her that he actually has a speech delay and he won't respond when he gets nervous which he obviously was. She continued scolding him which made me think she might have had a hearing problem at this point of she was so fixated on taking her bad mood on him that she didn't care what i told her that he wouldn't respond to her. Needless to say, after this class I wanted to cancel his membership. I called several times to no avail until I was able to reach an employee. She apologized for what happened and told me she had canceled his membership and I had nothing to worry about. To my surprise, a week later they charged me $200.00 as if I had never canceled. I started calling again and spoke with several people who couldn't find the notes in the system according to them. Then I spoke with one of the owners, Nicole, and she told me that corporate wouldn't refund the money to her so she would not refund the money to me, because whoever had canceled it when I called didn't do it right. So not only I had to see how my son was mistreated by a stranger but then I had to gift the company $200.00 for classes which I will NEVER USE because they don't know how to train their employees, not only the instructors but also the employees who deal with billing. Nicole said that I should stay because they are doing so many changes, great start Nicole, ripping off clients is good for a change. Disappointment is an understatement. Do not trust your children to these inefficient people nor trust them with your credit card unless you want to be scammed!

We continued lessons with them for 4 more years, and also my other son had lessons (he was 2 at the time) until we moved to another country 3 years ago. Both my kids LOVED their lessons and Michelle, till this day they remember her, she is amazing with the kids!! She is respectful of each kid's needs, loving and lots of fun, but also firm and i think is the perfect combination. Now we had to find lessons in this country for my daughter, and she had a traumatic experience with the coach. He didn't respect her times, zero idea on how to treat a toddler. I really wish we could have our Mishas Fishes's experience with her. As far as I know, Mischas Fishes is the best there is in Miami. (We tried with probably 8 more coaches before and after Mischas... no comparison) Highly recommend!!

I'm not very good at kite surfing, but the lesson was really fun and the instructor was really nice and extremely patient. I had a blast. This is already on the higher end of what is traditionally expected from a municipal pool. In addition, the city website is not always updated with the most current pricing. Olympic pool? Yes, in terms of structure and size, but it does not include a diving area, so it is limited in that sense. Heated water? That statement can be misleading depending on the season, as the water is not consistently heated year-round. We are in April, and the water feels extremely cold, almost like "ice water." I have been coming here for several years, and this is the first time we have felt that some younger staff members are interacting with children in a more strict or tense manner; this was not the case before. There are also private hotel pools and small water parks that charge around $15-$20, and many times they feel more relaxed and accessible. This raises a valid question about value and accessibility in comparison. It also gives the impression that there is a gradual shift toward prioritizing residents (despite significant price increases for them as well) or increasing overall costs, which raises concerns about long-term accessibility for non-residents. At the same time, these facilities are publicly funded through taxpayer money, including contributions from Miami-Dade County, and entry fees are intended to help cover operational and maintenance costs. Pool feels clean, the area is similarly clean. I did NOT go into the bathroom so cannot comment on those facilities. Plenty of free parking on the premise, and during the busier season (summer, I believe?) it looked like there were concessions and the slide would be open. All in all, I have spent several pleasant afternoons here when I did not have to work or got out early.

What I appreciate most with SMP is that they tailor their approach to each student while providing the structure and accountability needed to succeed. They are also incredibly accommodating and flexible with scheduling, which has been a huge help for our busy family. One thing I always tell parents is that SMP gives students every opportunity to succeed, but the student has to put in the effort. If your child attends the sessions, completes the homework, and follows the program, the results can be remarkable. I saw this firsthand with my own children. My son improved, but I know he could have done even better if he had consistently completed all of the assigned work. The program works when students commit to it. I love the interaction that I have with Stephanie when the test scores come in, it's hard to say who is more excited for my daugther, Stephanie or myself. I have referred many families to SMP Tutoring over the years, and every single one has been happy with their experience. I enrolled my son in this SAT tutoring program hoping to help him improve his score and strengthen…read morehis understanding of the material. Unfortunately, after spending a significant amount of money on this service, we saw little to no measurable improvement. Throughout the program, I communicated my concerns directly to the owner. Rather than addressing the effectiveness of the tutoring, I was repeatedly made to feel as though my son was the problem. In my opinion, the tutors lacked the ability to teach concepts in a way that promoted true understanding and mastery of the SAT. Sessions often consisted of simply reviewing information and test questions rather than providing meaningful instruction, strategies, or personalized guidance. What made this experience even more disappointing was that after leaving this program, I found another tutor who worked with my son for just three weeks. During that short period, his SAT score increased by 170 points. This demonstrated to me that my son was fully capable of improving when provided with effective instruction and support. After the tutoring service itself acknowledged that my son and their program were not the right fit, I requested a refund or at least a partial refund given the lack of results and the substantial cost. The owner never responded to my request. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. The program was extremely expensive, produced no meaningful results for my son, and when concerns were raised, they were not addressed in a professional or customer-focused manner. Update as a response to owner feedback. 100% my son sat for the exam they were contracted for and this is where no improvement was made. After the results I was given the option of one on one tutoring at an additional $75/hr. Obviously this service lacks the ability to keep a student engaged and motivated and the results of a different tutoring service proves that SMP is not a good investment.
