My. Lord. First off, I'm not from here and took the Yelp reviews to mean good breakfast and man, were they correct. I showed up, told the wonderful women behind the counter that I'm not from here (TX here on a 6 month job), that I have zero idea what anything is in their display case because nothing in Dallas looks this good and just pick me 6 of the best things they have. 3 of the 6 never made it back to my jobsite that's 10 minutes away. The raspberry Danish, the deep fried glazed ball of heaven and the chop suey never stood a chance in the truck with me. When I did make it back, my local subcontractor looked at the box, KNEW I went to Buckeye Bakery and said "You did good". Overall, they're about to make me gain 20 pounds and lose all my money. Usually when we make trips North this bakery is closed by the time we arrive. Recently however, our timing was perfect. We love their cookies and were pleased to discover that they can be shipped to us in Tennessee. Had we known sooner, we definitely would have been having them shipped. We were looking for a small dessert after a visit to the Shawshank Prison. It was the afternoon and they didn't have much left. I ordered a couple of cookies and the last maple nut coffee cake. Another trip to Buckeye Bakery. Had no reason to go into Mansfield. We have the gas guzzler and this is 50 mi round trip! We got in around 9:30 on TUESDAY. They had only been open since 7 AM but already they were out of goodies. If you arrived after me, then they were now out of all danish, cinnamon rolls, and low on cream filled donuts. I bought 2 dozen of these goodies for $23. They are large enough to split with hubby so I can enjoy my purchase without too much guilt. This bakery reminds me of the ones around during my childhood. Nope, it isn't upscale like my favorite places in San Francisco. But Buckeye charges $11.50 a dozen, not the unaffordable $70-72 that those fabulous San Francisco places charge for their incredible treats. So I am happy. I close my eyes and I am a kid again. Friendly efficient service. The only downside, no poppy seed breakfast rolls. I guess the supply chain is weird on poppy seed. read more

The donuts here are good. Not too sweet or doughy. You've got your perfect amount of soft and sweet. I grabbed these for my clients and everyone else thought they were good. It would be killer if they had a ham and cheese croissant or something like that for breakfast. Donuts and pastries can only go so far. I'd be back. read more

Last year in October I picked up two dozen of their large cut out cookies which were $1a piece if I bought a dozen. They only had bats available and she told me if I ordered ahead next time I could get a variety of shapes. So I called in September and asked them if they still had the large cut outs and if they were still $12 a dozen and she said they were and to give them a days noticed so that they would have them ready for me. So I did this picked up the cookies and they are small cookies. I called and they claim they never make the large ones unless special order and they are $3 a piece. I don't appreciate being basically called a liar. They charged me $10.50 a dozen for the little ones. Nothing special about these little ones as they use the same size cookie cutter I have at home. I remember how my kids eyes lit up when they saw the size of the cookies Buckeye use to make. I also got four cream sticks while I was there and they were not as good as Cornell's IGA. This is my favorite bakery in not only Ohio, but across the United States. I have lived in Texas, Washington, Louisiana, and Virginia and nothing holds a candle to their maple cream sticks. I have been eating donuts from here since the 80's and the quality and customer service has not dwindled. The last time I visited they were completely out of maple cream sticks and they got some plain ones and iced them for me on the spot! I decided to hold my daughters birthday at the Richlawn Carrousel Park and wanted a carousel themed cake. I live in Cleveland, so I needed to find a bakery in mansfield that would meet this need. Not only did they make an adorable cake, but I swear it was the best tasting chocolate and strawberry cake that I've ever had. We ordered a full sheet cake for a party pretty much at the last minute. The lady we spoke with was very accommodating. The cake was ready when needed and tasted wonderfull. Unbelievable ! The service was absolutely pathetic. Went on Friday 2/12/16 about 830 am. First time in this bakery. I asked about a certain item because i didn't know what it was. The middle aged woman behind the counter was put out by my asking her to do anything. I asked if she could tell me what that item was , she repleid "its somethin'" . Really?? Its somethin? I have lived here two years and i finally go into this location and this is the service I received. What a joke, in a town where the population is leaving in droves, where industry has long since left, you are left with junk trash businesses like this.
