Simple place to get a great haircut. I went on a Saturday morning trying to avoid the crowd. Greeted by a gentleman on my way in but I did not catch his name. I was wearing a hat that flattened my hair down, so I asked if I should wash it first before getting my hair cut. He said I didn't have to and it should be okay; however, I do admit that I was a bit concerned that my hair would come out unevenly. I told the gentleman how I wanted my hair cut and he did it with eased. Took about 10-15 minutes and the simple conversation between him and I made it seem even shorter. I was adding a tip, $5, but just didn't seem right. Started search for barber shop. This one on Pass Road showed up. After 3-month without, I stopped in. I have been coming here for about 8 years now! I use Joel to cut my hair, he always does a fantastic job. He always holds good conversation while cutting your hair. But I would recommend any of the others to cut your hair as I have seen them do a great job as well. All of them use the warm shaving cream and a straight edged razor to shave your neckline. All of the services performed here are very affordable, and new for 2017 is the Royal Shave for $20. It consists of scented hot and cold towels along with the warmed shaving cream and the straight edge razor is used to give you the closest shave possible. Got the lady there, not sure what her name is. Asked for a fade. Zero on the sides and a one on the top. What I got was a zero on the sides and the lady cut the top of my hair so short it looks like either a zero or a half. I definitely didn't get a one on the top. I was allowed to leave SportsClips and walk around with a sharp angle to my hairline and it took my co-workers this morning to point out how bad it looked. I'm military, so if I'm not in regs, or if I have a glaring problem like a 35 degree hairline, it's a problem. Buddy's is the epitome of a barber shop, down to the atmosphere and even the smell. The two chairs were full when I walked in, but it was maybe 5 minutes before they were both done. Haircut didn't take long, looks great and included a straight razor, cream and a hot towel on my neck. I will ask for a traditional shave one of these days. Joel and Mickey, I believe, saved me and now I'm happy that I finally found the type of place I've been hunting for since I left home. They are personable and will deliver.
