No matter how many times you may say "No, I just want the adhesions removed", you will be ignored because you don't have "private health insurance", you do NOT have a choice, dear. If you refuse, you will be put on the waiting list for a year .... AGAIN with some pathetic excuse. My advice? Get private health insurance and see a specialist who will LISTEN. We rushed him to QE2 Jubilee Hospital and he was seen to straight away, poked, prodded, scanned and operated on all in the span of a few hours. The staff there were wonderful, courteous and helpful. So when I broke my foot early Saturday morning, early November, I chose to re-visit the QE2 Hospital and I wasn't disappointed. There is a lot of construction going on around the outside, which makes it somewhat confusing to get in and around, but once I was in, they registered me quickly and I was seen by the loveliest Practitioner Nurse. Within the hour I was scanned, bandaged and sent home with instructions on how to use crutches. So thank you to the staff for being so nice and professional and giving the public hospital service a good name. I would recommend this hospital to anybody. Mind you I'm sure when they get busy, the processing may not be such a breeze as it was with me. But they still do an awesome job.

Whilst yes, you have the swish new Mater Mother's for public (which I went to), and there is the awesome Sunnybank Private Hospital (which I also went to), just as I thought it couldn't get possibly any better, then came the new Greenslopes Maternity Hospital. Sure I did follow my Gyno (he is awesome by the way) to this hospital from Sunnybank, I don't regret it. I am confidently looking forward to my stay here next year because this place is just like booking into a 5 star hotel. Well, not really but you get what I mean. The facilities are brand new, LCD TVs in every room mounted to the wall, an optionally $165 Luxury Package for those wanting a room filled with drink and food and nice lotions and robes and all the comforts of a 5 star hotel... they have well and truly gone out of their way to make you choose this place. The Paediatricians have an office called 'Paeds in a Pod' how cute is that! Everyone looks happy here and I am looking forward to my tour of the maternity ward even though i've already done it twice. Greenslopes Maternity Hospital is true an amazing place to have the most important day in your…read morelife- the birth of your child. When I found out I was pregnant I researched all of the hospitals in the area both public and private. I was a bit undecided on paper between the Mater Private and Greeenslopes Maternity Hospital but after a walk through of the hospital and doing some research on obstetricians I decided on Greenslopes since my obstetrician was part of the team onsite. The birth rooms are state of the art with TVs, a personal shower, mats, beanbags and balls to help while you are in labour and all the necessary medical equipment. Overall a relaxing feel. Air and gas are available in both the room and shower areas. The midwives are so supportive and helpful from the prenatal classes that you can go to before you birth to bring there in the delivery room and after. All rooms post delivery are private and many include a double bed which really helps to make you feel at home and also have your partner there to help at night and not have him sleeping in a chair. The food was very good and there is an all day snack menu that you can order from most the day. I think I overdosed on the Banana Bread. The care my and my son received post birth was incredible. If there is a second child in our future we will be back here.

Absolutely the worst Private Hospital. The Executive Office "investigate" the hospital complaints…read moreensuring the patient is to blame. No proper investigation or investigative skills. A male Nurse lied saying a patient refused medication and told him to leave the room. The patient was on the phone to another who can confirm the lies of the Nurse. The investigating person never asked to speak to the person on the phone for corroboration of the Nurses lies. Furthermore, the investigative person then accused the patient of swearing stating several "reputable" Nurses heard. The patient said they did not swear yet this fell of deaf ears. Of course a complaint made by the patient turns into the patient being blamed. When the patient asked what context the word was used, the Executive Investigator refused to say. When told the patient was on the phone and all conversations can be corroborated, the female Executive person once again refused to speak to the person on the phone to dismiss the lies of swearing. Why? Treatment was withheld by the male nurse for hours placing the patients life at risk. Nothing done with the original complaint by the patient about the Nurse. The lack of investigation is appalling. Blaming a patient falsely of swearing then refusing a proper investigation of their complaint is totally unacceptable.
