I had an awful experience with Budget Blackburn last week. Not only was the car I originally reserved not there after I turned up, I had to wait at least an hour while they served other customers who were just as frustrated in waiting so long. I only needed the car for the weekend but had to have it back by 2.30pm on the Sunday before they closed which is closer to 1.5 days otherwise I'd be charged a 3rd day for returning it Monday morning. So I essentially had the car for just over 24 hours, charged for 2 days and would have been charged for a 3rd had I returned it first thing Monday. But the real kick in the guts was the day after I returned it, the office called me to say they were charging me an extra $100 because they found some sand in the car! I didn't go to any beach I presume it was some sand from parking in a gravel driveway, surely this comes under generally wear and tear, but no it doesn't and they can't just vacuum it but they need to send it to detailing at great expense. This was a poor experience to go with one or two other poor experiences that I've had with this business, I would recommend you take your business to Avis and Sixt that are both in the area. read more
