When we arrived at the airport, we discovered the rental office wasn't actually at the airport. We were directed to walk to their old location, which turned out to be closed. We ended up waiting 40 minutes in the rain outside the old office for someone to pick us up. Once we finally got to the correct location, it took three hours just to receive the rental car. They also placed a $1,600 USD hold on my credit card and forced me to purchase their insurance, something other rental companies have never required. The car itself was unsafe--the windshield wipers didn't even work, and it was raining heavily during my rental period. When it was time to return the car, the original office was closed, and they were in the middle of relocating. They had us wait at a gas station at 3 a.m. with our luggage, which felt extremely unsafe. To make things worse, after one employee inspected the car and confirmed everything was fine, another employee tried to claim the truck had a new scratch (which was already marked on the original inspection sheet) -- likely in an attempt to keep my $1,600 deposit. We rented a car from Budget, and it was a mess, the office was in a warehouse and the price we were quoted was not the one they honored. We were told they would charge $1500 on the credit card in case of an incident but as soon as we returned the car charge would be reversed, it has been 2 weeks and they have not reversed the charge, now I have to dispute it with my credit card. read more

They are friendly when you rent the vehicle, but when you bring up the inconvenience they didn't care at all nor give us a discount. They could not find my reservation in the system. So instead of getting a 4 wheel drive sport utility, the rental agent offered be a compact Sedan for twice the price. She tried to sell me collision insurance, wrote the contract up with the insurance, then refused to re write the contract. When I requested to speak with the supervisor she said she would have to call him. I learned approximately 30 minutes later that the supervisor was sitting at a desk directly behind the counter. This rental agency will try to rip you off. They are dishonest and incompetent. Avoid them like the plague. do not read from the airport location or the downtown location. read more

Said 11 dollars a day on internet got to the business like the other person said driver took us from airport to business. Driver was very nice loaded and unloaded luggage for us. Got to business ended up with 52 dollars day. Needed 2 different kind of insurance when most in Mexico are uninsured and a huge deposit!! Made a reservation over a month ago for a 7 seater SUV. Upon arrival was told that they did not have the vehicle since I was 2 hours late from my time of reservation. I was told they only held the car an hour. I highly doubt that they even had my reservation. Bad customer service, female at the counter was rude and was not accomadating. I return the car and they said I cracked the bumber, which was total bill, because I told the guy about the damage and he said he noted it. I made reservations and paid ahead of time for my rental weeks before. I arrive and they tell me they have no reservation and if i wanted i could pay almost triple the price for another car. AVOID ANY OF THE CAR RENTALS AT THE AIRPORT at the small strip of car rental booths as soon as you arrive. They all work together to try to hustle money out of people. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! Rented a standard size car and prepaid so that I could be guaranteed a car on my arrival. The man at the counter (Adrian) was rude at first. Saying that I didn't have a reservation there. Once I responded back firmly to him, his attitude changed. Then he offered me the 0% deductible insurance that would cover me for theft or damages to the car, windows and tires. It cost me another 3,800 pesos but I went for it just to be on the safe side. Once I received the car, I took pics and noted all the damages. The interior was dirty and it smelled like mold. After driving out the lot within the first 15 minutes, the front passenger tire was flat. Pulled over to call him and he stated that it was my responsibility to find a tire shop and have it fixed. When it couldn't be fixed, I spoke to Adrian again and he said to go to the airport to pick up another car. That took an entire day away from my trip. At the airport they notified me that I was negligent and that's why the tire failed. They charged me for another tire. They gave me another car that also had 2 bad tires that I also had to take to a tire shop to get fixed. They are a bunch of thieves that rent out damaged and un maintained cars to customers. And then blame them for the damages. I strongly recommend that you rent from another establishment. They have horrible customer service and horrible cars. read more

I had a reservation at National but decided to ask the price here. For the same amount of days but with full coverage and unlimited miles I got a better deal here. The service was great. The deposit was low and the car was bigger than at National for 100 bucks less. I will definitely be using them again. It was a smooth experience and they even shuttled us to the airport. read more

Made reservations online. 5 day rental mini van for $230 usd.. Once I arrived they wanted $509 usd, because it was not included in the price according to them. Even when I showed them proof that it included insurance on the reservation. Very disappointing. Shame on budget, guess making reservation online is not applicable in Mexico's budget enterprise. read more

Worst company ever!!! Price started at $314 for full coverage. Then when we got there it turned into $145 more. First price was %90 coverage. Paid more for %100 + they made me pay for tire coverage. This is for small VW venta. Which is smaller than Jetta. When I got back we bent a rim and lost humbcap. I thought I had full coverage. Then he said it didn't cover humbcaps or wiper blades. I said then why did I pay extra $145 for tire coverage!! Don't rent here!! read more

Paid for an SUV online and they gave us a small hatchback saying that was an SUV. Then they wanted to charge us $200 more to get a Hyundai SUV which wasn't that much bigger. Kept the small hatchback. While we were there a family returned a car and workers found a dog hair and wanted to charge them more because of it. The family told us to be sure to take pictures of our car (dings, scratches,etc) in case they tried to charge us extra. Sure enough when we returned the car, the guy wanted to charge us for a cracked headlight that was overlooked during the initial inspection. We told him it wasn't us, but obviously didn't care. Thank Goodness my husband took the family's advice and had a video of the car showing the cracked headlight. He showed the video to the guy then he said "oh yeah it shows up in a previous inspection report." Such bs! Bottom line, do your own inspection and take pictures/video of your rental before driving off lot! 1 star for airport proximity and quick shuttle service. read more

Listen everyone! I rented a car in Dec 2017 on this site in Guadalajara, Mexico (will full insurance through Travelocity) & I had the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I called 2 times before to make sure my rental care was there & Payless Confirmed but when i got there, the staff named LUCIO ARANDA was mad that one one told him because he only had one car left. We eve had to walk miles in the middle of the night because their office inside the airport was closed...really? Anyways, he didn't have a copy machine to make copies of the agreement form & LIED to me saying for only $50, I would get additional car insurance so I said okay. He asked for me to sign saying the car is fine WITHOUT seeing it but luckily, my boyfriend realized what was going on & said no until we see it first. When we dropped of the rental car, he told me he charged me $450 extra so I didn't sign the receipt but they still charged it on my credit card! WHAT? I asked to speak to his manager named JOSE CAMARENA & he wasn't there so he called him over the phone & when I explained it to the manager that I didn't agree to pay that much, he said oh well. No one spoke English! Payless told me someone had to speak English & have the contract form in English! I have been calling Payless for the last 6 months (maybe 25 times already) & every single staff does not know who I can speak with. I have even been asked to email documents/proof and no one has emailed me back. I am sick & tired of being ignored. I have been manipulated! This is not fair & affecting me emotionally and mentally.
