I made reservations direct with Budget at $168 5 days, I tried to declined the insurance, I had no options, they said I had to or I could not rent, I rented in mexico many times usually with Hertz, I paid a lot more than what I reserved the insurance cost more than my rental $377, it's all a SCAM, I also returned the car 2 days before and I'm still waiting for approval of refund, they request a few things from me to get refund, again Hertz just simply credited my card at the spot , these guys keep giving the round around. Scam! Minimum coverage is obligatory to purchase even though the contract has the option to decline all coverage. We made the rental reservation online and no where did it state that we needed to purchase a coverage. They wouldn't let us rent the car without purchasing the coverage which I know other companies like Enterprise allows you to decline. At the end the lady gave us a "discount" but I still felt scammed by them. Sucks Mexicans always scamming us Latinos just because we come from the states. read more

BEWARE! If you book through a third party like Expedia and bought auto insurance through them, it is not applicable at this rental place. Upon picking up my rental I was charged and excessive amount for the rental. From $174 to $500!! My husband ended up working out a decent amount but still. Why advertise a deceiving amount?? Not only was my rental not ready for pick up because it was still filthy but as we drove off about 30 minutes into our drive we got a flat tire on the road in the middle of nowhere. The car was not equipped with necessary tools to change a tire. Thank goodness we got help from a tow truck passing by because we would have been there for a long time waiting to get help from budget rental. AND TO TOP IT OFF... the next day a different tire started to go flat. We had to end up taking the car to a tire shop for repairs! Truly not a safe car to have been rented out! It's been over a week and we have not heard back from Budget in regards to a discount for our troubles OR the reimbursement for fixing their faulty tires. read more

WARNING TO ALL TOURIST if you buy a bundle deal with expedia or any other travel site if you decided to get insurance, buy thru the travel agent. DO NOT BUY thru the rental company they get their pay from the rental but the insurance separate get inflated as if you were paid from than your premium in U.S.A. the agencies has a bullshit policy that everything is handle in dollars for a crappy coverage. My husband rented a car for 6 days later on we got a charge of $448.93 as if I was renting a car here in the states which here we get better deal. Should have looked it up before I booked but never had this experience with budget rental. Booked a specific price with insurance, even confirmed the reservation the day before. Get to mazatlan to start my long awaited vacation and.. same as the previous reviews.. car not available.. does not take the booked insurance and the new price is 6 times what we booked for a different vehicle. While we were trying to sort out why this was happening with Expedia, they rented the vehicle to a spanish speaking walk in. This review is for Budget Car Rental office located @ the Airport Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Its been already 2 times that i reserved a car with ahead of time, but at the end when my date comes there are no cars available. What really bothers me its the fact of the poor manners of the person at the front desk. Showing no respect at all for the clients. People from Mazatlan regularly are so kind and helpful, but I can't say this for Budget personnel. This time I got also a insurance when I was reserving the car from AA airline calls Allianz Travel Insurance, I paid close to $100 but at the end Budget does not take this insurance, you end it buy from there. Please do not buy this insurance if you are travelling to Mazatlan or anywhere in Mexico, is not working. read more
