It's a an old style motel. Nothing fancy but comfortable bed, hot water (& bathtub! Great to soak after hiking) AC is cold & heat is hot. Tiny refrigerator that you plug in at check in but usually works good. Tile bathrooms. If you want modern updated try the place down the road that charges 50-90$ more a night. Here you can still pay with cash if your preference. I've stayed a few times during different seasons. As I said not fancy but good place to sleep. I rode my bicycle from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL & stayed at different hotels almost every night. Danny was by far the most gracious & hospitable manager out of all of them! He made sure I had everything I needed. The hotel is old & outdated; the light switch wiring was faulty in my room & the light would turn on & off. The lamp did not have a bulb, so I had to get ready in the early morning in the dark. The walls definitely could use a fresh coat of paint, but the AC blew cold, and Danny gave me snacks & some ice when I needed it. Very budget friendly. My boyfriend and I come to Sanderson to hunt mule deer and it was the first time we've stayed here. They had clean rooms, great customer service and very accommodating and friendly. There's a few stray cats that hang around that kept us entertained and deer come up every night. I'm currently in the middle of a hike across the country and after a week or in the desert, I arrived in Sanderson. I decided to stay at the Budget Inn. It was a great decision. The rooms were adequate, but the staff are top notch. Extremely friendly and giving. They drove me to the store when I needed something and made me several authentic Indian meals free of charge. Best decision. I was cycling cross country towards the West Coast and had an especially rough ride from Comstock to Sanderson. Arrived at Budget Inn and couldn't have been at a better place. My husband and doggies were traveling to Donna, TX and I booked us at the Budget Inn in Sanderson. This place is loaded with charm, the room was cozy and had everything we needed to hunker down for our Sabbath before our continued trip on to Donna. The gentleman whom checked us in was so sweet and accommodating, he put our service above and beyond what we were expecting. Our doggies which we travel everywhere with also enjoyed their stay; the price per pet was very reasonable. Anyone who has craved a hot shower at the end of a twelve-hour day of riding will sympathize with me when I say that there are fewer more relaxing things than ringing the night bell on a motel in the middle of Texas and being greeted with a smile. The building condition is what lost this place that star. The person who greeted me at ten at night was friendly, hospitable and accommodating. First, with a discounted rate and then with a few snacks to tide me over, including a chocolate-covered rice crispy. Genius business, folks. Next time I'm in Sanderson, this is where I hang my hat. I was driving back to San Antonio from El Paso and decided to take the scenic route of Highway 90. I was tired and decided to stop at Sanderson TX rather than keep going to Del Rio after dark. The gentleman was friendly and gave me a whole plate of snacks. As the other review indicates, the building is worn and older but the bed was comfortable and the TV worked. I had a nice steel coffee maker to make my coffee in the morning. What really made this place awesome was the cup of Indian tea delivered to my door the next morning. I will stay there again when I am traveling that route again. read more

Nice rooms with hot running water the staff is extremely nice. They serve food which is great sense the restaurants in town are open weird hours. Check in is around any time it seems and it's a great escape from the heat. No bugs and very comfortable beds I haven't even wanted to get out of them. read more

The WORST of the WORST! Do not believe the other (fake?) reviews of 4 and 5 stars for this place. I fell for 'em, booked for one night and was very concerned we were destined to bring back bed bugs and other creatures!! No drinking glasses in the room - now, that's a FIRST for us!! Holes in the towels, mold in the bathroom and outdoor wooden chairs were falling apart. All we ask for in paying $60.00/night is for a clean bed, linens, bath and drinking glass. If you need a place along Rt. 90 in Texas, better to go with Marathon, further up the road. read more

Danny greeted me with a cold bottle of water after a 55 mile bicycle ride to Sanderson. He went out of his way to make sure my room was tidy and allowed me to do my laundry which was very welcome after a few days on the road. It's a modest motel but he runs a tight ship and it's a good value. A nice touch is the snack tray, again which was very welcome after a long ride. read more

we travelled with family for BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK. For night stay we chose BUDGET INN motel in SANDERSON. At night we reach there around 12 midnight yes we had booked our room online on booking.com but we arrive late then also the manager Danny greeted us with smile and plate full of snacks. we surprised because any big motel if we arrived late nobody treated us like that really great hospitality. Our room is with every modern amenities like wi-fi, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, iron with ironpad and comfortable beds and soft pillows. when my children ask for extra towel danny gave us with smile. In morning when i come outside i stunned by outdoor its so relaxing sunrise from mountain and cactus around me with flowers. so we decided to stay there for one more day. We have definitely experienced better--thus the two stars. Thumbs up for a very nice owner, the price point, a generally clean room, and the addition of snacks--some packaged cookies and doughnuts. Thumbs down for the dirty carpet, worn furniture and curtains, need for repainting, and lack of weather stripping around the door. Very reasonable in price, the room was super clean, he offered snacks upon my arrival, served me some nice hot tea and breakfast before I started my day. For me, it's not what something cost but rather does it deliver value worthy of it's price. This motel delivers value. Yes the air conditioner was a bit noisy; the towels were a little scratchy; the mattress a bit saggy; the back windows were painted rather than curtained; etc.; but motel only charged $55 plus tax for a clean room with a king sized bed. They are also pet friendly and the manager offered a tray of munchies upon our arrival. read more

I was tired and it was early in the morning. This place was open and so I checked in. I got a decent rate and the guy gave me snacks lol the room was clean. The water was hot, several channels on the tv, and beds were comfortable. The next morning the guy served me an Indian breakfast with chai tea. He also included some more snacks and coffee. There's not much available in this town. We met several touring cyclists a couple days before that highly recommended this place. After camping our under the stars for 3 weeks it was such a treat to stay in a motel and take a much needed strong hot shower. The owners demonstrated outstanding service and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Yes the building is old but so is everything in town.
