AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID WARNING…read moreEnterprise kinsale road, Cork took 2 deposits of 250 euro from my account. In total 500 euro. This was due to an extension of car rental. I got one deposit of 250 back, was then told I wouldn't get the second back with a load of waffle and add ons to try and not pay ot back, one being that the guy who approved the add on was new and made a mistake. I'm appalled and shocked that enterprise kindale Road roundabout stole thos money from my account. I have all the evidence and will get my money back but I will do everything to highlight this to people so the same does not happen to them. Please please avoid and be aware. I flew into Cork from the U.S. last week, and had reserved a car online from this branch. I was met…read morein person by two agents, Fiona and Kieran, who were stupendously helpful. They got me into a good car, helped cart and load my heavy bags (of which there were many, because I'm staying for a few months), and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I felt very secure getting on the road for my first Ireland driving adventure after talking with them. I rented an economy car that turned out to be rather roomy (4 doors and hatchback), and was nearly new-- only 4000km on it when I drove off. The price for the manual transmission car was very reasonable! Fiona carefully explained my insurance options, and I opted for the additional coverage which lowers the excess (deductible) to 100 euros from the standard 1800 euros. It seemed worth it for the extra peace of mind. I brought a Garmin GPS from home, into which I'd downloaded an Ireland map, and was good to go! Enterprise offers a 24-help line here if you have an accident or the car has mechanical problems. All in all, this has been a stellar car-rental experience, and I hope to deal with Fiona and Kieran again when I renew the rental at the end of the month. Updated: I went back to turn in my car and get another one (28-day rental limit), and had a different kind of experience. - Before coming in, I received three emails in the morning from the manager David asking me to switch days because there were no Class B cars on the lot (I had pre-paid for Class B). That was impossible for me because I'm living two hours from Cork City, and my schedule is quite full. He finally offered to let me keep the car I was currently using (a Class C car.) I spent €8 on a car wash and completely topped off the tank shortly before I arrived, thinking I was keeping that car. - When I arrived, David and Aiden (another employee) told me that did have another car for me after all. They put me into a VW Up, which I realized only later is a Class A car, but I'd prepaid for a Class B. It seems that David had no problem downgrading me to class of car, but for some reason, did not want to honor our prior agreement (which I have saved in email) for me to keep the Ford Focus (Class C.) I've emailed to ask him whether there will be an adjustment for the difference in price since I paid for a larger class car, but he has not replied. To be honest, it's not the downgrade that I mind so much as the fact that they didn't tell me what was happening. - The VW gas tank was only a quarter full (and took unleaded petrol). This was a bummer, as my drive home is very long. A quarter tank was not sufficient. When I expressed disappointment at this, Aiden said "We only have a diesel tank on site, just return the car with a quarter tank." That was not the point. The point is that it's an extra inconvenience for me, the customer. - I received an email the day after all of this and replied with the concerns above. I received a reply from a person who did not sign their name, in which they gave an odd defense of David's decision-making (it suggested that since I had been upgraded to a class C car in the past, I shouldn't complain about the downgrade...as if those two things were in any way connected.) I also have reason to suspect that it was David the manager himself who replied to my email (in which he references himself in the third person), and which I suspect is why the email was not signed. That was concerning. Bottom line: I'm now of two minds on this agency and location. I think your experience here will be reflective of which employees helps you, and whether they are customer-service oriented or more focused on the company's bottom line.

The supplemental charge was more than the price of the rental car! My reservation was for $135 but I ended up paying $305. Then we see the car, stained, coffe all over the place, old system that doesn't even has GPS integrated or lets the phone connect and "minor" issue on the front wheel. First bump, flat tire and they said that they need to send the car tow, they could have sent someone and just inflate the tire. We retuned the car, first they give us a new one, when the rental was finished, and informed us that we will be charged one more day, we never asked for another car. Then they say they will charge 2,2 per liter for the gas, we had to go with the flat tire to the gas station to avoid this. Then we get a final bill of 275 euros, only 75 is from the rental, because they state that the FULL insurance does not cover the road assistance, find in the photos their website, it clearly says it does. Shame on big companies that just can't find more annoying ways of taking your money. We took Hertz because is supposed to be better, at least is more expensive, never again in Cork.

I recently rented a car from here but never will again. The whole experience was miserable. The…read moredesk staff were downright rude. I believe the woman behind the desk was prejudice against my accent, honestly. First, I had reserved the car using my wife's credit card. The front desk woman refused to accept any credit card that didn't have my name on it, nevermind that I don't have a credit card. She refused to use my wife's credit card (this has never happened in the history of renting a car). We had to withdrawal cash to pay for the car. The woman downgraded our reaerved car to a two door that couldn't possibly fit my family plus luggage. We had reserved a mid-sized 4door. We had also reserved a Sat Nav, but she claimed not to havy any available nor a car that would enable me to plug in my phone to display the phone map on the screen. She then proceeded to pull out all of these instructions for how to drive on the road and lectured me on how to drive roundabouts. I explained as clearly as I could that I lived in England for nearly 10 years and visit family 2-3 times a year, always renting a car, and visit Ireland once a year (although usually flying into Dublin) and rent a car, so I know how to drive a car, thank you very much. I'm not a child and do not appreciate being treated as one. I am in my 40s, not my 20s. She then proceeded to explain to me how to drive a manual. I in return explained that my daily driver is a manual and that I always drive manuals, so please don't condescend to me. She contined and made little jokes about how since I now live in America, I"ve probably forgotten how to use a manual. She even then explained that the last person to rent a manual couldn't make it out of the rental parking lot so they charged her for damage to the clutch. What kind of racket do they have going on if they're going to charge customers for parts that have not been used? I was disgusted by the whole experience. I have never been treated so rudely. We went out to see the car only to discover then that she'd downgraded us and we couldnt fit into the car as a family with luggage. We went back to request a 4door, as our reservations had requested, and she refused to give us one, claiming they didn't have one available (nevermind we were the only customers in line and that their lot was FULL with all cars except that one being 4door. I told her to cancel our car and refund our money. She then refused to refund the money. We just walked away, having paid in full for a car we didn't use, and walked over to the Enterprise counter and got the exact car we wanted on the spot, with a sat nav, with friendly assistance, and for half the price. They also took my wife's card without hesitation. I will NEVER rent from Sixt again. I believe it that one woman hadn't been the desk oerson, the experience might have been completely different, but the fact remains that we were unable to leave the aiport car park becauae of her, so I will never give them a chance again. I'm still waiting for them to email me with some damage car for a car I never started after hearing her story of warning about charging a poor woman for a new clutch before she ever left the parking lot. There is something very wrong with that indeed, and I hope the woman in question sued the pants off of them for that.
