Eben and Emily, the properitors and your hosts, are very friendly, informative and helpful without being obsequious. Two very relaxing quiet nites spent there, and if we ever come back to Shelbyville or the vicinity for any reason, we'll make a bee-line to this B&B for another dose of some true southern hospitality(!) It's very clean; with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. My wife keeps commenting on how nice the heated pool is the perfect warm/hot temperature. The staff is friendly. The breakfast has eggs and sausages. You can also make your own waffle with delicious toppings such as; chocolate chips, shredded nuts, coconut, marshmallows, and my wife's favorite: peanut butter. They have a descent parking lot. A descent price. Trying hard to come up with a con, to balance all the pros to this place, the only thing the could improve is to turn down the hot water in the bathroom. As a parent, I'd check it before letting a child turn it on. All in all, 99 out of 100. This will be my go-to place whenever we're in Shelbyville.

The front lobby gives a great first impression--clean, modern, and updated--but unfortunately, that didn't carry over to the rooms. While the room was generally clean, there was a strong air freshener scent that seemed to be masking another odor. Customer service was disappointing. After checking in, I asked about a luggage cart and was vaguely directed to the left. I pushed the cart right past the front desk without a word from the staff. Only after unloading all my luggage did the clerk come outside and inform me there were no elevators--forcing me to carry everything up three flights of stairs. This lack of communication and assistance really soured the experience. The room itself was okay--basic but had essentials like a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and TV. However, the lighting was dim, the shower was cramped, and I could hear a lot of outside noise. And the breakfast was very slim. Location-wise, it's fair. There are a few fast food spots and local restaurants nearby, but not much in terms of shopping or convenience. Overall, the price doesn't match the value offered. It felt overpriced for what I received. I would completely rule this place out but I guess there's not allot to choose from in this area but I'd still consider other options before booking here again.

Even though it was winter we still enjoyed sitting on the front porch. When you take a shower it will take just a few minutes for the hot water to travel to the upstairs of the house, but this wasn't a problem at all!!! The wife and I definitely recommend that you stay here!!! The owners are very gracious, very pleasant and friendly! My wife did have the breakfast and said it was great! I didn't get a chance to eat my bacon until on the way home the next morning. I don't care if it set in the fridge overnight and I ate it cold! It was delicious!!! I wanted to stay at a different hotel while on this business trip, but my employer's travel agent told me that this hotel was cheaper, and she overruled my desired location. So, this is where I stayed. Even though I never wanted to stay here, it wasn't entirely bad. However, I did find that this location had its pros and cons, at least for me. I will briefly highlight some of each. Pros: The entire hotel is clean, including the lobby, hallways and my own hotel room. This hotel is also safe, with interior hallways and card/swipe access to enter the hotel. Despite the fact that there are railroad tracks nearby, I found that this hotel was also quiet, at least during my stay. Most of the employees here are friendly and professional, especially including one older lady who checked me in and another older lady who prepared the breakfast area. My hotel room was comfortable, as was the lobby and other areas in the hotel. The breakfast was free, and it was surprisingly good, better than I expected. The coffee was off-the-charts good, with machines that had whole-bean coffee inside them, where the coffee beans were ground and your coffee was made fresh right in front of you. They had free parking, which is always appreciated. My hotel room had a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, a nice TV, and a mini-safe. And finally, the outside of this hotel is also clean and inviting, and I liked the landscaping. Cons: The hotel was apparently quite booked when I arrived, so my only option was to stay on the ground floor, near the hotel lobby, in a room equipped for a person who was handicapped. I should have had a regular room because I had a reservation well in advance. And, because of the location of my room, I had more noise in the mornings from employees preparing the breakfast, as well as from guests in the lobby. Also, because this was a room for a handicapped guest, the shower was made for easy entry. But, due to its poor fabrication, shower water did not funnel down the drain; instead, it made its way all the way down the hallway inside my room toward the bed. This water puddle was not only annoying to have to avoid, but it also created a slip hazard the entire day, every day. Also, the refillable shampoo and body wash containers in my hotel room were not adequately stocked when I arrived, so I had to ask an employee for extras of these just so I could take a shower the next morning. And, as I approached the hotel front desk to get some shampoo and body wash, I found that no one was there for literally 15 minutes. I even called out for assistance a few times and no one responded. Eventually, a young lady who was an employee came out from the back office where she was apparently talking with her friend (who did not appear to be another employee), and I thought this was incredibly unprofessional. Overall, this hotel rates as an average (3-star) rating for me due to the mixture of pros and cons. I would not go so far as to recommend that you avoid this location, but I also don't plan to stay here again the next time I'm in Tullahoma.

Last Christmas my boyfriends mum bought us a gift card to stay one night at the Ledford Mill Bed…read moreand Breakfast in Wartrace Tennessee. We ended up redeeming the card on my Birthday in March. We hadn't really been on vacation since the previous Fall so we were excited about spending a night away from the same old, same old. The mill is not hard to get to, between Nashville, just past Shelbyville and before Tullahoma. If you're looking for an alternative to the tourist hotels in nearby Lynchburg you may want to consider the mill as your overnight location. We arrived later in the evening, probably after 4 in fact, and were greeted by Inn owner John Spear. He was just about to take one of the other guests on a tour of the mill, so we joined them! Everything was explained in detail, where the all access kitchen was, how our bathroom had all the original mill nuts, bolts, gears and wheels. We stayed in the Creek room, which has it's own private deck looking out of the woods, and is bigger than any hotel room I've ever stayed in. It has a giant clawfoot tub and the lofted area for the bed is built right in to the rock wall. This room and the Falls room are on the first level. The second level is an antique shop and the mills kitchen and dining area. The third level is Loft another guest room has it's own balcony. We were introduced to Tom Cruise. Yes Tom Cruise...the mill cat. An ancient feline who calls the mill home. He spent the entire night with us in our bedroom sleeping on the rug. If you don't like cats, it's easy enough to shove him out. We settled in for the night. The mill does not have television, dvds, or internet. It's quiet, extremely quiet. They do offer a vcr and television in each room and have a library of old VHS to pick from. We ended up using the claw foot tub, making ourselves dinner in the funky old kitchen and hanging out with Tom. The next morning I saw an owl flying around when I got up super early to the use the bathroom. There I am peeing and an owl is flying around the woods outside the window! We asked to have breakfast around 8am and right on time, John and his wife Mildred had cooked up some breakfast for everyone upstairs. A cheesy potato sausage dish, corn fritters and pineapple. Mildred is one of the funniest people I've ever met. The Spears are wonderful welcoming people with a wealth of knowledge about the area the mill is located in. After a lengthy breakfast discussion we went outside to explore the grounds. Tom Cruise followed us. We took the garden path from our back deck, that leads to the waterfall. The mill sits in a gully that stays quite cool in the hot months, and is situated over a creek. The creek flows through a wild garden area that leads to a huge rock waterfall. It's absolutely gorgeous, although I've added pictures to this review, I really think you have to go and see it for yourself. It's one of the more unique places I've ever been to, let alone slept in. I mean common an old mill, turned in to a bed and breakfast?! Super cool. PS. I heard recently that old Tom Cruise disappeared this past summer, and although he's done that before, they think this time it's for good. Maybe he went back to Hollywood.

I had asked her numerous times to marry me and she finally granted my wish. That vision of her lovely form framed by the beauty of the waterfall will forever be etched into my mind. Our room was very comfortable, and Patty's breakfasts in the morning were a highlight of our trip. WiFi is available, but the signal strength is primarily available in the common areas. The other guests were friendly, and I really enjoyed our breakfasts together. This place is in a wonderful location (the George Dickel distillery is a short walk up the road) and the nightly rate for everything that we got (nice room with bathroom, full breakfasts, warm and friendly conversation, good recommendations for local sights to see) was an excellent value! My friend and I already said that we would love to come back to stay at the Cascade Hollow again :)
