The pickup process was fast and friendly and being our first time there we found the place to be clean and well organized. The transport went without any issues but we we're running late to return. Extending the rental was as simple as letting them know and we were off without stress. We returned the trailer at night after hours where we found the place well lit and a spot had been cleared with easy access to park the trailer just like Johanna promised. As long as the service continues to be like what we experienced we will definitely rent from this location again!

Everything seemed to go well with the install, but when I arrived at home and looked more closely, I saw that my rear hatch had been both dented in one place and badly scratched in another. Having just carefully inspected the car when purchasing it, I knew that it was pristine when I brought it in. Now, mistakes happen and anyone can drop a heavy part and do damage. That happens. The real problem is that the UHaul of Scotch Plains staff hid the damage from me and just expected that I wouldn't notice it. That kind of dishonestly and untrustworthy behavior means that anyone who does business at this location needs to watch everything the employees do and double check all of their work. That can get exhausting, so I just recommend you go elsewhere.

After telling him I've never had an issue before, and his employees filled it as recently as July he called me a liar. He then told me he would have to charge me $120 for a new tank. His language and price gouging are both unacceptable and UHaul should be embarrassed that their employees are allowed to behave this way to long term customers.

Without asking me any other information or allowing me to provide it, the employee or owner dismissively and rudely got up and walked outside. I had to then start trying to find a backup so my trip wasn't ruined. I called them back an hour later and was again told by another employee or owner that they couldn't find my information then after a few seconds somehow found the information abrasive, rude and acting as if I did something wrong. And then hastily telling me to just come back attempted to rush me off the phone. None of the vehicle rentals nearby had a truck available on the day I needed it. Avis, on South Washington Avenue in Piscataway was able to accommodate me. The people who worked there were friendly and got me in and out quickly. The truck on the other hand was a beast. I got a Hino 24 ft stake body with 12,000 miles. It was a little expensive to rent and a lot more truck than necessary. The road manners of this truck were awful. It was bouncier and noisier than any truck I've ever driven. The important thing is that, thanks to Avis, I completed my task when I needed to. I recommend using them for all sorts of vehicles rentals, although I probably won't rent the 24 footer again if I can avoid it.
