The vehicle had a bad tire. The representative had it fixed by a shop next-door but we got to our destination the tire was going flat again. The DVD player in the vehicle also did not work. I would not suggest renting from this establishment they are the ghetto in the suburbs.

Having just carefully inspected the car when purchasing it, I knew that it was pristine when I brought it in. Now, mistakes happen and anyone can drop a heavy part and do damage. That happens. The real problem is that the UHaul of Scotch Plains staff hid the damage from me and just expected that I wouldn't notice it. That kind of dishonestly and untrustworthy behavior means that anyone who does business at this location needs to watch everything the employees do and double check all of their work. Had to most of my belongings, $20K sentimental things, heartbreaking for me and disgusted with how much money I paid to this shyster. One person works there and has a hard time keeping up if there are multiple people trying to rent. I reserved on the Thrifty web site and it wouldn't let me add on liability insurance. It said said I'd be able to add on insurance at the office. But the woman working there on June 7 told me they couldn't do that. You should call in advance about insurance. The car they rented me didn't have working AC, and it was a pretty hot weekend. But they have so few cars there that it didn't seem worth going back and asking for another.

This location was the ONLY one far enough from the airport to charge a lot less than the car rental places at Newark, and it's open on Sunday. The car I rented was great on gasoline and ran smoothly for the 2/12 weeks I had it. It was small enough to park almost anywhere and it fit my luggage and passengers well. I would highly recommend this business.
