Awful place! The…read moreowner, Wayne, approached us (my husband, myself, + our two dogs) for our "temperament test" (meet + greet) with his own two dogs OFF LEASH! I could not believe that someone who works with dogs would do that! He took one look at our boys + said NO, we were not welcome. Our dogs are mixed breed, + one of those breeds is pit bull. We told him that our boys are super sweet, not aggressive at all, + he told us that we don't understand pit bulls. I understand that there are aggressive pit bulls in the world; however, ANY dog can be aggressive under the right circumstances. Nowhere on the website does it list which breeds are not allowed, so we didn't know. Huge waste of everyone's time + energy. Overall, Wayne was very rude + unprofessional. Definitely would not pay the exorbitant prices of a membership here - IF your dogs are even accepted into the park!

The guy who runs the place (Uncle Wayne) is a card with his own fan club. This place used to be a treecourt swimming pool back in the day. I've been going here since the early 60s. It backs up to Simpson Lake and is a very relaxing place to go.

It's not very crowded and the path is wide and flat. I'll be back.

The Good: Its well maintained, has separate areas for big and small dogs, there is a water feature in the big dog side (but also a foot operated doggie water fountain for those who don't want to take home a fully wet dog), normally lots of nice people and friendly dogs with which to interact, they do events sometimes The Bad: It's a membership park within a city park system, so lends the perception that dog owners are double-taxed This park is a bit of a walk from the parking area and many people have adopted the bad habit of letting their dogs walk off-leash to the park gates. It's never a good idea for a leashed dog to meet an off-leash dog as their first introduction so just watch out for this if you're a newbie to the park. The Ugly: There is a large group of dog owners that visits at 4pm each day. One of them has an Airedale terrier that is a known aggressor. Their "solution" to this problem is not to avoid public dog parks with their aggressive dog, rather it's to monopolize the small dog park during the peak after work time by putting the aggressor(s) in that side. The administration of this park is poor; they do nothing to enforce the rules, and ignore reports of aggression. This dog and her owner have quite the reputation at this park but are somehow allowed to remain members. In conclusion, as long as you don't try to go at 4pm this park can be ok
